Years ago, I was dragged to a Donnie and Marie concert and I had a surprisingly good time! They are very personable and engage frequently with the audience.

Same for me.  One of my sisters was a huge Donny Osmond fan and over the years I got taken to many concerts and got the chance to meet Donny and also Marie.  They really are lovely people.  And Donny is a lot shorter than he looks on stage!

I don't think Whoopi looked at some of the male to female trans competitors compared to biological females. Perhaps there are some sports where having already developed male muscle mass and weight prior to transitioning doesn't give the trans competitor a big advantage over other competitors, but there are sports where they do.

Think about it, if there were no advantage that males have over females, why would there be different teams? Of course, there are exceptions, but looking at the majority of players, there's a big difference.

There's been controversy about trans athletes for years - recall Renee Richards, back in the 1970s when she played tennis is women's leagues.

Dylan was very personable and likeable. I hadn't seen any interviews with her before.

It's a nothing subject that stupid people, but usually Rs, keep bringing up because while they're banging on about stupid shit like trans athletes & anything else trans nobody is watching the real awful stuff happening in America at the moment, especially the R base who think it matters more than the price of eggs etc.

It's all smoke & mirrors by R leadership to distract both sets of voters while they rip out the heart & soul of the country all over something that effects about 5 people in the whole country each year. Each sport has a governing body & they should be the people setting the rules not politicians.

Umm... If you're willing to be on a show called "Love is Blind", you can't be surprised if there's something you don't know about the other person - it is right in the title! I'm sure there are plenty of other things that these folks don't know about each other, let alone political issues. I don't watch this show, but there must have been times when they talked. What did they talk about? Clearly not current events. Maybe not anything substantial. If something is that important to you, that you would consider calling off a wedding, then maybe talk about it!

As for waiting until the altar (!) to announce that you can't marry someone, I think that's on the producers, looking for drama. Once again, Whoopi sounds like someone who has never seen a reality TV show or dealt with show business in any way.

It looked like Sunny was trying to make Senator Slotkin agree that the situation in our country is a "five alarm fire" as Karine Jean Pierre said, but Slotkin dodged that.

Maybe I'm wrong, Whoopi, but if you are opining that the country is so terribly divided, then perhaps stop saying divisive things and try to emphasize commonality. You may think that you're persuading people to your point of view, but it doesn't necessarily have that effect.

I enjoyed the interview with Julian Lennon, he seemed like a lovely, interesting person.  I wonder how he is friends with Whoopi?  The story Julian told about Princess Charlene of Monaco was very interesting...she always looks so sad in photos, and it sounds like she was sad on her wedding day, but Julian's photos of her were beautiful.

Alright, I'll admit that Love Is Blind is one of my guilty pleasures and I can tell you that Sarah certainly knew about Ben's stance (and ignorance!) on politics and religion. They talked about it in the pods. She didn't like his answers and even confided with her girlfriends about her unsureness. I was very surprised she accepted his proposal after all the uncertainty she felt about him. It's all about the 15 minutes of fame, I guess.

BF, I love the show too. My interpretation is that Sara loved so much else about Ben that she was going to let this slide (because if we are looking for the perfect person, we’ll be looking for a LOONNG time, right?). But when she attended his church, looked at their videos, researched more about his church, she found out that they were a lot sketchier than Ben made them out to be.

I watched the show last night and still don't recall what divisive thing Whoopi supposedly said that was referred to. I recall Whoopi having some mistep with her words at one point during the opening, but don't remember her saying anything "divisive" or even talking about the country being divided at all for that matter...? Anyway, I don't think a person silencing themselves or people attempting to silence others is ever the solution to division. Pumping less hatred and hate-filled rhetoric out into the world is the only answer.

On another note, their economy discussion highlighted how absurd Alyssa is. She continually attempts to appear as if she's "correcting" Joy and Sunny--only to find both her attempted corrections were baseless when confronted on what they actually said--whenever a point inconvenient for "her side" is made. Like pretending Trump's deficit in his first term wasn't already skyhigh before the pandemic even began. That behavior is especially hilarious considering all through the last year, Alyssa essentially criticized the others FOR stating facts and stats where it concerned the economy and diverted every single conversation into why feelings are more important than facts. She was a major proponent of disinformation on this show where the economy was concerned. The real truth is she doesn't want facts or correct information--she just wants to spin.

Don't you know that Whoopi is friends with every celebrity in Hollywood?

She probably met John and/or the Beatles during her heyday.

John was killed in 1980 and Whoopi's career on Broadway started in 1984.  But yeah, Whoopi (and/or Sunny) seem to be "friends" with 90% of the celebs who come on the show or who are mentioned on the show, especially in Sunny's case.  I think what we call acquaintances, they call friends, i.e. if I met them once and had a conversation, they're my friend.

I think it is a rare bride who doesn't smile on her wedding day. I think that there's been gossip about that marriage from the beginning, so I suspect that the comment Julian reported that she didn't know if she could go through with it really  referred to the marriage, and not the photographs.

The pictures are lovely, but convey sadness, not joy or hope or even happiness that you expect to see in wedding related pictures.

I think Whoopi genuinely is friends with Paul, and Paul and Julian are (or were) close, so it’s possible that’s where the connection is.

Yeah, last week Alyssa was Rah Rah Team Trump and this week she’s all “I told you he sucks at economics.”  You can’t have it both ways, dear.

Totally agree. And Ana seems to know more people (friends!) than Whoopi & Sunny combined.

Someone needs to tell Alyssa that Europe is a continent & not a country no matter how much she wants to think it's not. All of her the USA is the greatest country on earth that has ever been & Europe is a shithole that doesn't even get close to being as wonderful might ingratiate her to her favourite orange felon, but most viewers see straight through her.

As for the Wendy Williams segment the only thing I have to say is what the actual fuck? Just listening to her talk is hard work & the panel & audience cheering her on is ridiculous as she so obviously needs some sort of help, even if she doesn't think so.

She sounded just like Trump when he was putting down African countries in his last administration.  I still can't decide with her whether she believes what she's saying or if the producers have put her up to it.

Europe is a continent, but when people (even on the View) want to emphasize some deficiency in the U.S. they often refer to how "Europe" does something so much better and how "Europeans" are more sophisticated and knowledgeable, so I have to give Alyssa a pass on not specifying any particular country (or countries). I think that the U.S. has long had a bit of an inferiority complex compared to "Europe" because our national history is so short and our cultural options (including education) are newer, without centuries of tradition. Lately, though, many people seem to be convinced that anything done in any European country is superior to anything done here. Alyssa's point, I believe, is that European countries are not necessarily handling many of the issues any better than we are, and some of those populations aren't as "progressive" as we might think they are.

On a related topic, Rosie got through the first Trump administration without moving, so does she feel there's some real threat to her and her child?  Her comment about maybe coming back when it is "safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America" was strange to me, since as far as I know, she's not in any demographic that might NOT have equal rights as a citizen. If she left because she feels that some other citizens don't have equal rights, I'm not sure what that achieves. It comes across to me like "when you guys do the work to make America as good as I would like it to be, maybe I'll come back." For me, she isn't exactly a national treasure, so it is irrelevant where she lives, and I'm guessing many people might also be unimpressed. As a person who is probably very well off, and with her potential Irish citizenship, she can live comfortably wherever she wants for as long as she wants, but it has little practical impact on the situation here.

There are much more progressive countries in Europe just as there are much more backward countries when compared to the USA but that's like using Mexico as an example of America, the 2 are patently different & nowhere is perfect but Alyssa & her like would have you believe that Europe bad (except Russia now apparently), USA great, across the board when it's not comparable no matter how she & her like  slice it. Every country has good & bad but not the way she & her likeminded people think or would have everyone believe.

As for Rosie O, she can fuck off to the moon as far as most people are concerned & can live wherever she wants as long as they'll have her, if she feels unsafe then that's all there is to it.

I don't think "most" would be the case. I couldn't care less where anyone lives, tbh, but I think she's still fairly popular. Of course, a minority do hate her vehemently, and for all the obvious reasons

I know her best from this show and from her own talk show. My favourite Rosie moment was when talked about being on WW and said a whole muffin was 6 points, but half a muffin was two and a half so she ate one half at a time. I identified with that!
