A gun porn loving crime scene cleaner. From a long range firefight can identify the particular model of pistol the Feds used. And the search for a mole stops with the finding of a phone. Just when I was asking myself why, besides to tell us a undercover Reacher has to talk when we all have this text information and send pictures features. We find out an undercover ATF asset didn't code, much less clear out her text. In the end I think nature's toilet is going to spit someone's body back up.

That wasn't no Will Smith slap Paulie applied on Reacher, he got that knockout slap Bas Rutten used to deliver in his no punching MMA. It may not be cinematic but going with MMA where low kicks  to take out the enemy's legs are the new big thing figuring out Paulie .

For a second I thought Reacher framed the maid with his tiny phone.

I predicted the nerd's death several episodes ago.  Chekov's Hostage and whatnot.

If that surf is so powerful, Reacher must be Michael Phelps on an eight ball of coke.

I know everyone wants to see Reacher take down Paulie, but I could see it being an Indiana Jones-type resolution.

If I were a betting man, the whole dumping ground into the tide is totally going to come into play again.  Either a body is going to pop back up or somehow Reacher is going to get tossed in there but somehow survive.  Or it could even be a simple case of it being Quinn and/or Beck's final resting place when this is all said and done.

Knew Eliot was a goner since the beginning, but at least they didn't drag out the revenge aspect and the bodyguard has already been deal with.  Still, add this to the list of things for Duffy to feel guilty over and possibly have some form of reckoning, when it is all said and done.  Didn't predict that the maid was ATF though and also gets executed.  Not a good episode for the guest characters, I see.

Reacher finally gets dropped by Paulie, after discovering that a punch to the chest doesn't matter much with him.  Imagine a rematch is in order and Reacher will need to adjust his methods.  Going after the knees will be an obvious choice, but a good old-fashioned low blow would be an option as well!

Since I doubt Quinn is going to get taken out until the end, I'm curious to see what will prevent Reacher from offing him next week!

My first thought after watching rogue cops get hands slapped for not checking the interagency undercover clearance section for 25 years of TV plots was off course she didn't check before sending Teresa in. To this point all we know is that Beck looked too rich with too much security, even after his son's kidnapping so Duffy just decided to go all out. Meanwhile the ATF seems to have been on an actual crime.

I think Reacher pulled his punch and was testing prepared to sell getting hit like a pro wrestler, but was still surprised by the power of Paulie's slap

Duffy may be a good FBI (DEA? DOGE?) agent, but she obviously isn't much of a tactician. The kid was a gonner from the start and we all knew it. Did she not consider the danger of leaving him in charge of the bodyguard? Didn't she notice what was happening and deduce what might come next? That was Stockholm syndrome in reverse - the captor trusting the captive.

And dropping her badge was a very dumb move.

Reacher is a big man, but Paulie is bigger. Reacher has to cut him down to size. How do you cut down a tree? You chop away at the base.

I'm glad Reacher finally said to Duffy what I've been thinking for at least a couple episodes, and definitely during this one:

STFU about Teresa!!

She's running an off the books op to find an informant who she tricked into going undercover for her.  She left a kid alone with a very dangerous guy. Why not rotate Eliot and Villanueve so that the bad guy didn't have a chance to wear one of them down.

What did he spit at the lighter? Beer? I'm pretty sure that doesn't cause a fire.

There was an aerosol can on the table next to the bodyguard in the prior episodes.  Presumably the contents were flammable.

I find Duffy to be unintelligent and unlikeable.     She and Villaneuve are supposed to be senior agents, yet they kidnap a guy and leave  an inexperienced agent in charge of him. Both of them should end up in jail.

For the kidnapping alone. And now she lies to the FBI on the murder of a federal agent. I guess that case will remain open forever. perhaps the bodyguards DNA is already in the system so if his remains are recovered

It was a bottle of hydrogen peroxide that the cop was using to clean the bodyguards wound the episode before (and left it there on the table). Fire from a lit cigar and peroxide cause a more intense burn or explosion depending on concentrations. Personally, I think spitting it out with the cig on his lips would have just burned his face and lips and not hit the cop.

The only surprise was how long it took. How many episodes featured the hostage asking the crew, usually the nerd, for something? And the hostage moving incrementally closer to escape, through this action of that? I had been fast forwarding all those scenes for at least 2 eps, until I saw a body this episode.

All possible, OR ... big build up to a boss fight and then the actual battle takes 2 seconds when Indy shoots him. I'm torn between that, and some sort of long, drawn out, brutal close quarters fight a la Daredevil in a hallway.

That's my guess.

Funny moment: Our daughter, who had never seen Reacher, watched the first 5-10 minutes of this ep with me. As soon as Duffy started talking, our daughter said, "THAT accent is off-putting." Heh.

Classy move to not tell Eliot's father he was a fuckup.  Though dad probably knew.  He didn't necessarily deserve it, but it was inevitable.

Annette was a nice in-house ally, that was a good plant, but not a good end for her.  And I hope he takes out Harley and Paulie very painfully and very soon.  Both have served their purposes.  We get it, they're bad guys.   Now I'm tired of them.  Reacher always finds the "off" switch.

As soon as Reacher says to Duffy about Teresa "She's Gone", you know they'll eventually find her alive.
