S10.E10: Bahama Blues

I'm not sure that Shep and Whitney agreed to it, because I thought that Whitney seemed all to happy to throw out while drunk that Sienna contacted him first. I also wonder if Shep thought she was hot and maybe he and Sienna had an agreement to fake a relationship?  Maybe Shep panicked knowing that Taylor was in a relationship and he wasn't?

Taylor is in another relationship? I thought she was with some guy who rarely, if ever, appeared on the show other than FaceTime with Taylor.

Shep should just start bringing Little Craig with him as his date. It's really the longest relationship Shep has ever had.

And Whitney. Yuck. That guy is just plain creepy.

Wonder if Shep really fell for Sienna, or if he just agreed to a storyline in cahoots with Whitney. Are we supposed to believe Shep suddenly gives a shit about someone other than himself?!

An episode like this shows how scripted the show is.

First, why would Shep "invite" Taylor?  Well the real answer is that it's not really "his trip" it's for the show, just like last season, they also went to some Caribbean island (Jamaica?).  So it would be her job, as a cast member, to dress up including in bikinis to be shot pretending to go on a trip with friends.

Second, these relationships are scripted now.  It's obvious that Shep and Craig's fake relationships were both going to implode this season.   The producers orchestrate how and when it happens.

This whole episode, almost all of the cast members who appeared on camera was talking about Shep and Sienna.  Hell they were all openly talking about this relationship, IN FRONT OF SHEP when they sat down at that table in the hotel.

Or they're being shot together and everyone is snickering or making wisecracks about how Sienna is playing him or Taylor says Shep saying that he loved Sienna was the feeling on the tip of his dick.

Real friends would talk about his relationship but mostly do it behind his back.  In this fake show, they're all openly talking about it, because for whatever reason, the producers decided it would be one of the major story lines of this season, so of course the whole cast have to constantly weigh in.

If Shep felt that insecure, why would he take his friends on a trip to see her?  No he'd try to get clarity from her by himself.  Instead he's moping like a teen boy worried about whether his date to the prom will show up.

It's so ridiculous, a 46-year old man worried about how his hair should look or for his 26-year old "girlfriend" to pick out his clothes for him, seeking her approval for everything article of clothing he packed.

Come on, make it at least half plausible!

Same thing is going to happen when Paige "dumps" Craig.  Everyone is going to talk about it on camera.  It won't be sordid or anything, just that our poor guy had his heart broken by some NY harpie who prioritized her "career."

Now Molly who was supposedly interested in Whitney is going to try to hang around and swoop in on Shep.  Oh boy, is she on Raya too?  Well they both got a lot of screen time on this season so probably mission accomplished for all.

Bravo decided that just letting these people chatter on camera and possibly say interesting things was leaving too much to chance.  So they're all on a tight leash, dictated on what to say on camera.

Spontaneity doesn't guarantee ratings and too unpredictable.  So every scene they shoot has an agenda.  They try to make scenes appear spontaneous, but the cast, especially the women, are always professionally made up and dressed (styled in the industry parlance) for anything, including mugging on the plane or going to the pool.

Taylor and Salley probably had makeup applied for their ass shot as they got out of the pool, probably hide any pimples or other blemishes, get the right bronzed skin tone, etc.

I felt a little ( very little) sorry for Shep. I think  he has fallen  for her, but she's  not interested  in him anymore. I've seen enough  of frigging  Taylor though, does she need to keep chirping in,  when Gaston is never around!

Molly looks good in her bikini,  at least it's not one that gives you a wedgie..lol

I love seeing the Bahamas,  it's always  so colorful.

So JT is coming, where's  he going to sleep? Craig  looks good  with that beachy vibe. Gawd, I'm old enough  to be his mother!..

Seeing Taylor grilling Shep about his relationship with Sienna was utter cringeworthy. It was apparent to everyone just how bothered she still is. Watching Austen's face as she went on & on was priceless. She's so smug, yet bitter & boring at the same time.

Shep's a buffoon, this can't be the first time someone has used him. I don't see what's so special about Sienna. I think his ego is dented because he can't pull younger chicks like he used to so he was hoping to lock down a Bahamian beauty queen.

Why is Rodrigo there?  It makes no sense that he's even part of the cast. Plus his (hair) piece bugs me.

Shep was really spiraling. I think everyone else was making a big deal about Sienna likely to break Shep’s heart because they’ve never seen Shep so wound up over a woman—and especially because they know that he knows the writing’s on the wall. I think they were trying to be encouraging at first and telling him to tell her how he feels, because, sure, that’s the only way to solidify the relationship. But once she was ignoring his calls at the airport, the suspicions about her motives was growing. And then when they met her?!?! Like, damn, Shep, this woman is barely tolerating being near you, let alone in love with you! She gave him the same half-hearted hug she gave the rest of them. He orchestrates an elaborate ruse to get undressed in her vicinity and she skeedaddles post haste. Sounds like she’s really regretting grandma putting her up to get close to this show. Surely there could have been another way? If only Whitney responded to her Raya connection first. I mean, don’t any of the Below Deck spinoffs port in the Caribbean?

Sienna didn't really want Shep to come to the Bahamas. It was forced. She was cold toward him when there were alone, and it seems that this is not going to end well. And, no, it's not fake on his side.

She didn't want to film for the show?

You think she just popped in?  She put on an outfit, she had her hair and makeup done and she was instructed when and where to walk so that she could be filmed.

She sought out Whitney and then Shep.  If she didn't want to be on the show and pretend to be interested in Shep, why did she bother in the first place?

Once she signs up for the show, it's all going to be filmed.

Shep can't be that lacking in self-awareness or having some street smarts.

Does he really think that she's interested in him romantically?

The original Below Deck films in the Caribbean.

Sienna had a boyfriend, and she was lying about it.

I think Paige added a couple years to his age.  He's only 44 so 43 around the time of filming.  Still too old to be chasing a 26 year old though.

He is 45 (he said it on WWHL recently). He was born in 1980.

She did approach both Whitney and Shep, but she had a boyfriend, and at that point the situation was probably getting out of hand.

Shep is an idiot. He thinks women like him, when they like his celebrity status (even if he is a D list celebrity). He forgot he is on a reality show.

Molly has an orange cat!

Molly, stick with your orange boi and don't drool over Shep.  He's not worth your effort.

I wonder if Sienna, after the dog birthday party, had had enough of the cameras and then when Shep tried to encourage her to stay while he changed, I wonder if she realized (or it capped off her realization) that there was a lot she didn't want to show on camera, and one was hanging around while Shep was in his underwear. SC fan or not, would Grandma approve?

I don't get the big deal about Sienna.  She's so....meh....to me.

I think every other girl on the current cast is prettier than she is.

Of the single girls, I think Molly and Venita both outshine her.

But watching karma come for Shep, as he danced around in his underwear, upset that she wouldn't watch him change, and watching him continually check his phone, and jump when she knocked at the door.....that, my friends, was priceless.

I loved Molly's orange cat because I have one, and two before him. They were all males. Almost all orange cats are male because the gene responsible for orange fur is located in the X chromosome, and since male cats only have one X chromosome, they only need to inherit one copy of the orange gene to be orange, while female cats need two copies (one from each parent), making it much less likely for a female to be orange. Orange cats are the most affectionate of all cats.

Yes, some of the other women on the show are as attractive as Sienna. He probably likes her because she is not American (so, she is "different"), she is a pageant contestant, she wants to go to medical school, and she is not running after him (eg. she ghosts him again and again).

The scene about him wanting to change in front of her was kind of creepy because it was like forcing her to "admire" him, and proving to the viewers that they were intimate before.

Taylor is still really upset about Shep breaking up with her. How many years is it? It's not a good look.

+1 to everything you said!

Great point about Sienna who, because she's not into Shep (other than for his "tv fame"), plays ultimate hard-to-get because she ultimately doesn't want to be gotten.

This might be the first time in middle-aged Shep's life that a woman has done this to him.  He probably has texts and DM's a mile long from all the Taylors of the world who can't stop thinking about him.

But Sienna?  She's like, nah, change by yourself bro.  I'll go hang downstairs.

I did think she looked amazing in that assymetrical cut dress.

So. Madison goes to the Bahamas and leaves her husband behind?  I know he’s a Fireman, but still.  I Guess she considers it work and the money is good.

Supposedly he had to go work, you know, commute from South Carolina to San Francisco.  Someone found that he makes hundreds of thousands because he's got a high rank and gets a lot of overtime, so I guess  that would be worth commuting across the country.

But he's suppose to be sick, maybe has a tumor that they haven't diagnosed?  Didn't he say he couldn't swallow or had some difficulty with his throat?

He doesn't look sick, at least whatever he may have isn't affecting his health like causing him to lose weight or hair.

Meanwhile, she just announced that she and Brett are pregnant:

https://www.bravotv.com/the-daily-dish/madison-lecroy-pregnancy-update-baby-name

Nothing in that article about him being sick or being declared healthy.

If it does turn out that he's okay, I would suspect this health scare was a bullshit story that they didn't do too much with, because they have plenty of material about Shep being played and Craig being dumped.

No mention of her meeting Shep’s family.

I don't think she met his family. She was supposed to stay with him at the family home in South Carolina when his family was away in Spain, but she didn't because he refused to pay for her airline ticket (he paid on two previous occasions). She was angry because she expected him to, and they broke up temporarily. They were supposed to meet his family in Italy later on during a trip to Europe, but it didn't happen.

He is not bringing her home.  For obvious reasons.

That's Shep's mentality. Driving this bus! No wonder somebody less desperate than Taylor wouldn't like it:

During Season 10, Episode 10 of Southern CharmShep Rose was left placing call after call at the airport when he went to visit his then-girlfriend, Sienna Evans, in the Bahamas and she didn't show up to greet him. And during the Southern Charm After Show after the episode (those are episodes posted on Facebook, aren't they?), he had a chance to think back on how he felt at the time.

“This is my life, and this is my soul or whatever you wanna call it. And I was just like, ‘You're playing games here. Like, I should be driving this bus," he explained while chatting with Austen Kroll

I keep reading that Sienna is a fame whore, wants to be on S.C., etc. Really?!  If that's so she would have been at the airport, she would have been everywhere on this trip.  She looked she was going to get root canal walking down the hall to Shep's room.  IDK the cynic in me is saying the producers are trying to push a Shep redemption storyline (like Sandavol on VPR) and what better way than to show him getting dumped and being heartbroken about it.  Beesh please!

And just like VPR they are trying waaaay to hard to make something happen 👎🥱

I've been saying for years that Shep is one of those guys that wants a woman who doesn't take his BS and who lets him do the chasing. If you're not a challenge to Shep, he's bored with you and will just use you for the moment of pleasure and then forget about you. Why he stuck with Taylor for so long, I'll never know. There must've been some kind of behind-the-scenes agreement with Taylor and production. I think Molly could be a good fit for Shep. She's about 10 years closer to him in age, is smart, has other stuff going on in her life, and I think she would call him when need be.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Austen is spot on about Taylor. I think we all go through a similar stage with an ex where everything they do just pisses you off because the rose-colored glasses are off and you're seeing the ex for who they really are. And, it's not so much that the ex is pisssing you off, but you're more pissed at yourself for not seeing them and you're wondering what the hell you were thinking. It's usually the stage right before you're truly over them and can look at the ex with either indifference or amusement. Naomi and Craig went through this stage, as did Madison and Austen (a tiny bit as I have doubts that they were in a real relationship).

He stuck with Taylor for that long because he couldn't do anything because of the Covid restrictions. They lived together for this reason. The romance timeline coincided with that. The second he could go out to party properly he cheated on her, and didn’t want to commit anymore.

I checked because I didn't remember the name. Shep tried to kiss Mia Alario of Leva Buonaparte's Republic who is on Bravo's Southern Hospitality (a spinoff of Southern Charm). She told Taylor, who broke up with Shep after this in 2022.

I can't believe that Shep tried to kiss Mia who was 23/24 at the time, and I doubt that she wanted him to do it. The first season of Southern Hospitality aired in 2022.
