It did seem odd that days appeared to have gone by with one daughter dead and the other in bad condition, but we didn't see them at all.

How long were James and Levi even dating?  I realize the character was introduced solely to be Schmitt's love interest, but that part of the storyline felt like it moved incredibly fast.  

And jeez, poor Yasuda.  I just hope she can forgive herself for her sister's death.  I did like that moment at the end when Bailey was holding her hand as she told her that her sister died.  Chandra Wilson just can project such warmth and love when needed.

I'm just glad Levi gets a happy ending. Also that shot of him and James at the end, I did not realize he was so short!
 

It was weird that we didn't see Yasuda's parents.

I had a feeling Yasuda would  be okay, and that Chloe might not. 

I got a little choked up that she passed, especially  after having her chemo treatments. 

I'm just glad Levi found his happy,  and I loved the flashbacks  of him

Ummm yeah that was my thought. No attending showed up until 40 minutes after she coded? Even setting aside they seemed to consider her an important patient because she was Yasuda’s sister… 40 minutes?!?

They telegraphed Chloe’s death pretty early into the episode, so I just kept waiting for them to call it. Same with Yasuda. I never thought she’d die, so I was just waiting for them to say she was okay. And I’m glad she is, but I wouldn’t have minded raising the stakes with her dying since the actress is leaving anyway. But I’m also not very attached—I like her but less so than when she was introduced in season 19 and it seemed like the show was getting a much needed refresher with the new interns. There’s potential but the split screentime with the oldies takes hurts the stories imo.

I was thinking this too. I know they’ve had some budget cuts but they could’ve hired a couple of extras to sit in Yasuda’s room during that healing montage. Or scrounge up an extra sister. She’s got 7 of them and one just died, at least one family member would show up. But at least Bailey was there when she woke up. Their moment at the end was really touching.

She really can. I always think about that mercy west’s interns death in season 6 and how Bailey being so affected made me sad about an intern I otherwise didn’t care for. 

And seeing Levi’s goodbye montage really showed his career growth. I’ve skipped a few seasons & didn’t realize he’s been on the show for so long.  But moving to Texas with a guy he’s being seeing for all of a month is a bit silly. I get that they want to give him a happy ending but as cute as they are together, that move seemed rushed and unbelievable to me.

Yeah, when the doctors were deciding what to do surgery-wise, I was wondering "where are her parents or other next-of-kin" (because I couldn't remember if her parents were even still around)? Wouldn't they need to discuss her treatment with them since she couldn't consent to anything?

I was thinking of that moment as well.  She has that meltdown over the elevators not working due to the active shooter, but quickly pulls herself back together.  She then has that very tender scene with the Mercy West doctor who was dying. It was quite moving.

I never was a big fan of Schmitt so not sorry to see him go and happy to see him go with a happy ending.  But...i wish they would let two people, any two eligible people, just be friends for a change instead of everyone being everyone else's love interest.  I guess I'm boring but I've managed to work for years with many different people and not fall into bed with them.

I groaned on seeing the preview. Wouldn't medical folk be shunning Grey Sloane by now as it seems to be cursed?

I don't like Yasuda. In fact she's always been at the top of my list of interns they can kill off. That said, the scene with her and Bailey at the end was the most I've cared about her ever.

Owen and Teddy are just tiresome as hell.

You're touching on something that has been kind of bothering me: I can't keep track of anyone's sexual orientation. It doesn't really matter to me except I can't tell whether people are being friendly or flirting. It's like when Jo said she slept with Schmidt and I was like "Wait, what?" Same for when they mentioned Jules slept with Linc. I have no memory of that.

I feel like every friendship on this show could turn sexual at any moment and I don't like it.

(I had to google both of these incidents. After they reminded us, I vaguely recalled that yes, Jo and Levi slept together at some point, but I didn't remember the details. Totally forgot about Millin and Link.)

Meh... Should've been Yasuda, not her sister... Who cares about her sister...? GA can't do a proper drama anymore...
But I have hopes for the next ep, after seeing the trailer!
However... The store robbery with a doctor inside happened already million years ago in ER! Carol was in the exact same situation, even pregnant 🤨

I think if they can't reach the next of kin and it is life or death, they can do what is needed to save a life. That was right after the accident and they did mention Webber was trying to contact the parents, but it is reasonable if that took awhile. But they should have showed up at some point, especially since days seemed to pass at the end.

It was ages ago. Jo and Alex had broken up temporarily, so she slept with Schmitt and when Alex found out he laughed at her.  I had forgotten but it came back to me.

I was never a fan of Schmitt, but it is nice to see him with a happy ending. It did seem fast with the boyfriend, but time is weird on Greys. Jules said she and Mika had been sort of together for a couple of months, and I didn't realize that much time was supposed to have passed.

I really was expecting Mika to die alone when all the interns went to help Chloe. Which would have led to more guilt. Agreed that it was ridiculous that 40 minutes went by with no attending showing up. The moment when Mika woke up and Bailey had to tell her about Chloe was really moving and sad. I imagine it will lead to her leaving, the guilt, needing to take some time for herself and be away from the hospital.

I also teared up when Blue was talking to her. Yes, he was saying what a bad roommate she was, but you could hear in his voice how much he cared and wanted her to make it.

I never hated Schmitt, though they clearly didn't know what to do with him for a couple years there. Wish they'd focused more on his friendship with Jo during the last few years. And with Helm. It did seem really fast with the priest, but nice that he had a happy ending.

It seemed like the only ones who were even rushing to her were the three interns.

I never liked Schmitt, but was happy he got a happy ending. 

Overall this felt like the heaviest episode we've had in awhile. I thought they did a good job with it. Chandra Wilson in the last scene was amazing.

I expect it to be a very heavy Amelia episode; isn’t that the same way her and Derek’s father died? Maybe after this we will get to see Lucas’s parents or grandmother. 
 

re Bailey and the interns, she might have her own family at home, but I think that she views the interns as her kids and treats them as such (whether they’re hurt or if she’s upset with them). When they brought the girls in the ER, I wonder if she flashed back to George. Her “kids” have had so much trauma over the years that she’s probably thinking “OMG not again”.

I guess her sister’s death is how we end up losing Yasuda so she doesn’t die which is good because I am not too big on doctors dying even though I know that it has happened before. So the door will be left open but I honestly don’t think we will see Yasuda again on the series. Just think about it? Would you want to return back to the hospital that your sister died at? I think that it is over for her even if she didn’t die. She was one of my favorites also and it sucks but it is what it is. Either way I wish Midori Francis all the best. Hope she will turn up in something else.

Also I had another thought: what happened to the people in the other car that was involved in the accident? Did they walk away unscathed or were there some minor injuries? Either way the car accident happened because Yasuda fell asleep at the wheel. Is there a way she could be charged with that?

Yeah, and I think Amelia witnessed her father's death. It was the first thing I thought of when I saw the preview.

I wondered that too. Chloe would have been the only one who knew she was asleep, but if she ran a light or something that is reckless driving.

However, unless people in the other car also died, I doubt they would actually charge her. It would just make things worse for the rest of the family. It would also be too terrible of an ending for Yasuda.

I hope you're right about the very heavy Amelia's ep! It would be a little better if that was Amelia there with Lucas, not Jo... Too dark maybe, yes... But I guess they want maaaybe to "get rid" of Jo's pregnant, due to extreme stress... And since she wasn't really convinced to have kids, same with Link, who was okay either way... 🤔
