Gemma Violet November 13 Share November 13 Tammy's still living at Chris and Brittany's house--it's been a couple of weeks, I think, and there's another 2-3 weeks to go before the yellow house is finished. Tammy and Brittany seem to be getting along because they don't talk much to each other. Good news for Chris--he only has to lose another 20 or 25 lbs in order to get his skin surgery. Tammy pouted like a child when told she still has quite a bit to lose before she can have surgery. She refused to let the doctor examine her. Amy is still talking about getting her skin surgery even though she's not anywhere near ready. Amanda and Tammy have gone two months without speaking. Amy shows off her cooking skills (??) by cooking a big dinner for everyone, with both Tammy and Amanda present, whereby she will bring the family together again. Obviously a lame producer-driven storyline. Amanda announces her move to Florida and Amy breaks down crying because the family won't be together anymore. Someone should tell Amy that millions of families have one or more members who live in another state or another country and they make do. They do Facetime or phone calls or annual visits. 8 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150513-s06e05-carbe-diem/#findComment-8506043

Obviously a lame producer-driven storyline. I'm already bored with this "Amy the chef" storyline. And who goes to a cooking class and totally ignores what they try to teach you? Producer driven lameness is right. On another note, I've always wondered why some people choose not to wear false teeth. Every time I see their mother I try to picture her with teeth. My total focus is on her mouth the whole time she's talking. 9 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150513-s06e05-carbe-diem/#findComment-8506073
auntjess November 13 Share November 13 Someone said the chicken wasn't done. Surely that's not safe, especially with all listeria and recalls. Amanda can come back if it doesn't work out, but she's entitled to move. i think Chris thought more driving and other problems will fall on him, but he already does it. 12 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150513-s06e05-carbe-diem/#findComment-8506099

They were uncomfortable, and the grandparents only wore theirs to church. My aunt wore her's to eat, and to work, and church, but that's all. Amy's food looked disgusting. The chicken scared me, I wonder if any of them get sick from her cooking? What she did to that filet was revolting. I suspect it's just to show on their social media feeds, and their TV show. I'm hoping no one actually eats the slop Amy cooks. Tammy is really showing her bad temper and demanding ways since she moved to Chris's house. BAForever November 13 Share November 13 There is no way Tammy is ready for skin removal. She's was acting like a cranky toddler when the plastic surgeon reinforced what Dr. Smith said- she needs to lose more weight, she's 280 pounds, she needs to lose 100 more because she's short. Chris absolutely enabled her saying if she had shown her stomach, doctor would have changed his mind. Chris should have called her out on her childish, petulant behavior. Amy and Tammy are immature, nasty bratty women. I don't blame Amanda for leaving town for a bit. Chris needs to put his foot down and Misty is smart not to engage. Brittany is the only one I like these days. 8 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150513-s06e05-carbe-diem/#findComment-8506199
CrazyInAlabama November 13 Author Share November 13 I still like Misty, and Brittany, but the rest are delusional. Amanda deserves to live her own life, without the family trying to control her. Whether the boyfriend works out or not, it's her choice. It's not as if her despicable mother didn't have multiple husbands, and Amy and Tammy have had numerous boyfriends, over the eyars, several boyfriends were married too. If Tammy wants a tummy tuck, then don't go to the plastic surgeon and call it a skin removal, or expect that she won't need a redo when she loses more weight. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150513-s06e05-carbe-diem/#findComment-8506205
Shelbie November 13 Share November 13 Amy’s cooking is revolting and if the chicken was undercooked it is also dangerous. Hope it was all thrown away after the scene was filmed. Tammy continues to behave like a spoiled toddler who expects to get her way all the time. Her behaviour in the doctor's office merited everyone else getting up and leaving her to figure out how to behave like an adult. 7 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150513-s06e05-carbe-diem/#findComment-8506252
Pi237 November 13 Share November 13 All three women just sitting in the couch, doing nothing while Chris cooks bacon? Why don’t they cook and he can go work on the house? Are they helping with the house? Am I taking this show too seriously?🤣 9 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150513-s06e05-carbe-diem/#findComment-8506294
Mahamid Frauded Me November 13 Share November 13 I agree with all of you, Tammy and her childish sulking behavior about skin surgery at the doctors, grow up. Amy is still delusional thinking she is going to get skin surgery at her current weight. Why can't Tammy help Chris with the house? Even if she goes over there and sweeps or something. I don't blame Amanda for moving, her kids I assume are all grown, so go have at it, I would pull a George Glass excuse on Amy and Tammy just to get away from their immature behavior; 2 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150513-s06e05-carbe-diem/#findComment-8506314
applewood November 13 Share November 13 Is Misty married and does she have kids? Maybe it was mentioned before and I missed it. Tammy's behavior at the doctor's office was horrible. It was like a toddler. I can see why Amanda wants to get away from the family for awhile. BTW, what does Amanda do for work? 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150513-s06e05-carbe-diem/#findComment-8506348
Pi237 November 13 Share November 13 Don’t you have to rinse bagged salad before eating it? Sorry, I didn’t like that flower arrangement. It looked color cluttered. I think the bright pink flowers were throwing it off for me. But that’s it picky. It was nice of them to bring flowers. I didn’t think Tammy and Amanda’s fight was that serious. My siblings can get on my nerves and make me mad, but we don’t cut each other off and cause tension with the rest of the family. I loved Brittany’s face when she said she used sugar free breakfast syrup. Why force the weird ingredients on everyone!? Just follow a simple recipe. But I guess there’s no drama in that. 3 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150513-s06e05-carbe-diem/#findComment-8506359

But you would think that if their mom knew she was going to be filmed for national TV she would put them in, that is if she even has any. But then, not many of them seem to be bothered with their dental hygiene. I remember in the past Tammy told a dentist that she brushes her teeth once a week. Ewww! Thinking of that still makes me cringe! Edited November 14 by swankie Reworded a thought. 3 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150513-s06e05-carbe-diem/#findComment-8507243

I did a little googling and found an answer to my question. Misty has been married for 23 years and has 4 boys. I guess her husband and kids don't want to be on the show. There's a lot of boys in that family. Misty has 4 boys, Amanda has 4 boys, Amy has two boys. Link below has pictures of Misty's family. https://screenrant.com/1000-lb-sisters-misty-slaton-wentworth-age-job-instagram-facts/ 1 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150513-s06e05-carbe-diem/#findComment-8507467
goofygirl November 14 Share November 14 I have a feeling that Tammy is gonna wear out her welcome at Chris's house before long! She just kinda sits around a lot these days doesn't she? What's different than when she was 500 lbs? Not much. I've noticed that her lumpy forehead is still there. I think Amy's forehead is lumpy-looking too. Maybe it's a family thing. What was missing here that Dr. Now has explained multiple times, is that as long as there's fat, there are a lot of blood vessels that need to be tied off, and if you miss one it's dangerous. My cardiologist told me there are 5 miles of blood vessels in every pound of fat, which is what makes your heart work so much harder when you're heavy and raises your blood pressure. I had a thought about her behavior. Yes, Tammy can be infuriatingly childish when it comes to her behavior. But she's pretty sharp and I have no doubt she actually understands and retains information given. I suspect she knew all along that surgery was not in the cards for her any time soon, but it's show-driven and she felt humiliated to "perform" disappointment, let alone expose her body for the doctor to analyze in front of the audience. So to me, the shutdown was for being dragged to the appointment to demonstrate that she hasn't reached her goal yet, something she well knows but is being pressured to pretend she DOESN'T know. Amy? I can totally believe she thinks she's ready. Brittany is NOT happy about any of this, and the camera folks are capturing every hostile expression. She has had such a benign resting face ever since this show began that I think things are really bad. (And I suspect a lot of it has to do with them buying that house a YEAR ago and him doing nothing with it even as their kid and grandchild moved into their home, until his sister needed a place, and then suddenly he's all fire motivated to fix it up for HER.) 6 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150513-s06e05-carbe-diem/#findComment-8507538
