Chit-Chat: The Feels

Mr Free Speech Musk was only exercising his right to free speech when he doled out $2 million last night at his rally in Green WI according to his lawyer

It’s unfortunate that courts there wouldn’t put stop to this when the WI AG filed an injunction on Saturday or hear the appeal he filed later that day

If I ever hear anyone talking about a democrat try to buy votes I’m going to wish a speedy painful end to you

Can you imagine the reaction of the magas if they saw a political "ad" like this? Trump would have an apoplectic fit 😎

Believe me they will come up with a way that only Trump could serve three terms.  It will be narrowly written so it only applies to him.

But if I was the Dems I would beg Obama to do something like that.  Just to rattle their  cages.

I think they recognize that the MAGA movement dies when Trump is finally out of politics. If he were to die today I have no doubt they would try to keep it quiet for as long as they could.

Out for my morning walk just now in my Canadian city and I pass a truck with both a 'Fuck Trudeau' & a 'Trump for President' sticker and I think to myself, it's really starting to suck being human.  I guess they won on both counts.  Yay for humanity.

I've never seen the Trump signs but I live in the rural Conservative part of an overall Liberal area so yeah, definitely have seen seeing the F Trudeau signs for years.  Someone told me ( or possibly I read it here) that now they've got F Carney signs instead.  So yeah, it was NEVER about Trudeau.  Even though the rabid right wing media made it seem that way.

Are you in Alberta?  I've seen both of those stickers around here.

I've been trying to avoid too much American news but I've got to ask - has anyone heard from Snoop Dogg or some of the other more high profile supporters of Trump since he started his Reign of Destruction?  Any of them having buyers remorse?

If they are having buyer's remorse they aren't going to publicly say that. They will just  hope people forget they supported Trump.

I haven't heard anything about Snoop lately but here is Trump supporter Kanye West.

Kanye West has taken to new extremes as he was seen wearing a KKK hood and referring to Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs as his "twin" as he "related" to "beating women."

In a new controversial YouTube interview this week, Kanye was seen wearing a grey Ku Klux Klan hood as he spoke with DJ Akademiks. During their discussion, the 47-year-old artist showcased his support for Diddy and said that he doesn't know a man that's never assaulted a woman before.

People need to stop giving any attention to Kanye. I don't care if he is mentally ill and off his meds or if he isn't mentally ill.  At this point he has shown himself to be a truly vile person. Period.

He thinks he's going to be able to make it legal through what he thinks is a loophole in the Constitution that says a president can't serve 3 consecutive terms. And he has not served 2 consecutive terms so that wouldn't apply to him. But everyone that knows anything about this says that the wording provides no basis for that interpretation. And even if Trump tried to change the rule it would take too much time and would likely fail to get voted in by the House and Senate because a 2/3 majority is needed and Republicans have a very slim majority.

Amendment XXII doesn't mention 'consecutive' anywhere.  Though I bet he thinks he can have it repealed and replaced with something more to his liking.

I also think he's serious about wanting to be king, erm POTUS for life.  Remember please those videos he shared back in '20 with the calendar pages flying off saying Trump 2028... Trump 2032... Trump 2036.  At the time people said he was referring to his kids.  I'll see if I can find it.

That’s a confession, not a defense.

I’m sure it’s on his wish list but I doubt that even he is delusional enough to think he could manage it by 2028. That’s part of the reason he hates blue states so much. There are still enough of us to block him from changing the constitution even if he has a supermajority in the House and Senate.

I think it is more likely they will try and use the possible VP succession loophole. Or attempt to throw out the constitution entirely.

Thank you WI courts for emboldening Elon Musk

Fresh off his $2 million giveaway in Green Bay he’s now offering voters $20 who taking a photo of themselves with  a picture of Shimel (the MAGA running for SC) with a bonus $20 for those who send photos of themselves with a polling site in the background

If this buys the seat for MAGA this really is a miscarriage of justice

I think the VP succession loophole has too many variables for it to actually work. JD or insert another willing Republican would have to win the election and that is not necessarily a given. Will MAGA turn out to vote for them even with Trump's name second? Will the rest of the population do the same? Say JD is able to win in 2028, what leverage does Donald have over him to get him to resign once he becomes president? A repeat of Jan 6th can be easily put down by the sitting president. Removing a president based on the 25th Amendment requires too many people who's loyalty would have to be bought by Donald, and quite frankly I highly doubt he could afford it. Not when the president will be somebody who's ideals and goals match the money behind the administration. Why would they need Donald instead of JD? He would be 82 in this situation while JD would still be under 50 with a possible second term.

Oh, I’m not saying that I think it will work. Just that I think it is the right level of delusional for them to attempt it.

The reason Trump won this time and I use the term won loosely, is because independents voted for him.  Mostly because of the economy.  And unless something radically changes the economy is just going to continue to get worse. People were tired of him in 2020 and all the drama he brought.  He is bringing even more drama now.  The only way he is staying in office after January 20, 2029 is if he orchestrates a coup.

Unless things change dramatically the only way the Republicans take the White House in 2028 is that coup.  They will always have their base but their base alone won't keep them in power if they stay on the  eve of destruction.

Speaking of I see lots of memes and posts from left leaning sources insisting the Dems have to speak up in light of the recent treasonous actions of the morons and their group chat and they say things like "this is a slam dunk" to get them impeached, fired, whatever.  Are these people truly that clueless?  These are not normal times and the Dems can only do so much.  Yes they need to be active and speak out at work to try and undo some of the damage but nothing right now is a "slam dunk" in terms of getting these horrible people out of power.

One would hope but they are trying to make it even harder to vote.  Even though voting procedures belongs to the states they are meddling.  They want to make proof of citizenship be required. Documents some people don't have.  My mother needed her birth certificate 12 years ago to get her drivers license renewed.  She was in her 70s and had been born at home.  I had to drive to my state capital and get it because they couldn't tell me how long it would take to get in the mail.  And of course there was a fee for the copy.  And you have to make sure it's the legal certificate with the raised seal.  Just more hoops to jump through to vote.

I'm sitting here not only in disgust, but real confusion; how can any of this be legal?

And yet, as mentioned earlier, voters can't even be given a bottle of water as they wait in ridiculously long lines to vote.

How are more people not outraged?

When will we wake from this nightmare?😞😡

To review: in his second go as President, Trump has sought to exceed the misery brought on by his first term. He’s punished poor folks that voted for him, he’s seceded power to an unelected foreigner, and he has damaged the nation in ways that may never be repaired. Two months and change. And that’s all the time some people need to start squawking about a third term.

Honestly, Obama needs protection. If anything were to happen to him, the MAGA set would react faster than Ol’ Mitch putting up that letter after RBG died. He probably had that on his laptop for years, yet he couldn’t wait for her body to get cold before posting it. And the Trumpanistas would raise the flag full-mast were the worst to happen to Obama. He’s the only Democrat with the clout to take on Trump right now.

European countries resist US push to scrap diversity and inclusion initiatives

PARIS (AP) — U.S. government efforts to eliminate diversity initiatives are not going down well on the European continent.

Laurent Saint-Martin, France’s minister for foreign trade, said on Monday the country won’t compromise after the U.S. State Department said that French companies who have contracts with the U.S. government need to drop diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. In neighboring Belgium, where some companies received similar requests, the government lashed out at the new U.S. rules.

It’s just proof that trump does not care about the people who voted for him.

Food needs to be reserved for the armed forces, in case the forever war is renewed.

(Imperial Germany did this type of hoarding in 1918)

No one, which makes it even worse!  Because the left is attacking a citizen... someone who is/was making EV's FOR the left agenda. And now the left is not only destroying the EV's, they're destroying his company and all the people (probably a lot of the left) who work for Tesla. What? No compassion for the people who are trying to make a living building EV's??

I really do not give a single solitary shit if a guy who's out here making Nazi salutes sees his business struggle. He brought this on himself with his shitty behavior.

I am all for electric vehicles. I do not think Musk is the savior we need for that - if he was at one time, he sure as hell isn't now.

Hell, Elon, if you're really serious about combatting fraud, waste and abuse (you're not), just lock Trump in the Oval Office for the remainder of his term. At 26 million USD per every two months of golf trips, that would save taxpayers 156 million USD per year.

Hasn't he already wasted $28 million *this year* on trips to Mar a Lago to play golf? And the United States of America can only afford to  donate $2 million to rescue efforts in Myanmar???  Has our country ever looked so puny & cheap when other countries desperately need our help?

Climate change denial. Biden wanted to make the food system more climate friendly and Trump almost immediately froze all spending on the project. It’s the next phase of the news story from February about farmers being in danger of losing their farms.
