I thought last night's show was so charming!  Timothee and Sabrina both seemed so happy to be there and totally into the conversation.  It's rare that both guests hit on all cylinders.

I’m not sure I’ve seen Timothy in a sit down interview until now and he was utterly charming

Really enjoyable interview with Elton John. Stephen was clearly a big fan. I’m a big fan of Elton too, since the 70s, and I’m glad he’s happy with his current life

It was fun to see how much Brandi Carlisle loves him, too. I'm glad he's doing okay - I knwo he's had some health issues lately, so yeah, ,I absolutely do not blame him one bit for wanting to just kick back and tabe a bit of a breather and enjoy his time with his family. 

I loved hearing him talk about his musical inspirations and his love of American artists, too. 

(I personally do like "Crocodile Rock", myself, but that's mainly just 'cause I remember hearing that song on the radio as a kid and I've always liked it, so...:D.)

Is it too much to hope for a Colbert Questionert with Elton in the near future?

I thought it was really touching that after Stephen got up to greet Elton, the camera panned to the audience and the band until he (Elton) was seated so the fact that he's having trouble moving around was hidden.  So considerate of Stephen and the show.

Elton certainly glossed over his eye issues during the interview

I like that he didn't want to talk about his health. Sometimes that's all people want to hear about, and it feels like morbid fascination on their part, like they're reducing you to some pathetic tragedy for their own tittilation when people get obsessed with your medical state, when what you want to talk about is your career or whatever else your'e doing with your life.

I very much enjoyed Edward Norton tonight (last night?).  It was a thoughtful and deeply felt conversation.  I'm really looking forward to the film - although probably not quite enough to make me go out to a theatre.  I'll wait till it hits my TV.

Stephen said on last night’s show that it was the last show of the year before they take their Christmas break. He did not indicate a date the show would return

I liked that Norton talked at least as much about Pete Seeger as about Bob Dylan. Seeger was a big part of the culture where I grew up, which was along the Hudson River. Pete and the Clearwater organization was a major force in cleaning up the river, which was a really big deal even for people who weren't fans of his music in particular. 

And Dylan, and for that matter, Springsteen, for all their power as musicians and cultural icons, are not really activists like Seeger was-- not that they have to be, not everyone has to be. But Seeger is more interesting to me as a person, because he was.

Not nearly enough has been said about the blacklists, and the people who kept up resistance and change-making despite that, so if they squeezed some of that into the movie, I'm grateful. Especially now, we need to see the people who stayed strong when it was hard, and not only the people who rode waves of money and adoration and made gestures when it was easy for them.

I find Chalomet off-putting, but am still looking forward to the movie. I wasn't sure until after Norton's interview. But now I feel more confident that I want to see it, so good job, Ed! I don't know how much of the Seeger stuff is actually in the move, but him bringing it up in the interview makes me interested to find out.

When he started talking about Lord of the Rings, I thought that was a great gesture toward Stephen. Haha. Good job, REALLY selling it to the person you're talking to. The man knows his audience.

Looking at the calendar, Monday Jan. 6 seems most likely.

I just happened to see a rerun from about a week ago of Stephen and Evie on Drew Barrymore's talk show.

Despite the fact that my DVR seems to think last night, tonight and tomorrow are new.  Silly machines.

I don't think the problem is originating in the DVRs, though.  I checked online listings (TitanTV) and it's also tagging the shows as "NEW" (but has the original air date in the descriptions).  They're not showing as new on the CBS site, though, so I'm not sure where the error is getting introduced.  Oh well, better to record when it's not really new than the other way around.

My onscreen guide was saying new too. Didn’t really believe it, but did pay a quick visit to the interbridge guest page just to make sure.
