Kate seems much more expressive. I feel like Arden as Botoxed every possible emotion from her face, and she'd even do her mouth if it weren't for needing to speak. Her face is like a mask!

The kiss was just stupid. Are Kelley and Jennice in jr. high? A run by kissing?

 

My impression is that Kelley was humiliated.  She (at least in my viewings of Below Deck) seemed to be putting out all the signals that she was interested in him and in some sort of moral dilemma b/c she had feelings for him.  I mean, hell, she seemed very jealous about the porn stars going down the slide with him.  So I think he just did the fuck it let's get the elephant out of the room and just kiss already.  Then she pulled back.

 

I thought she seemed more bothered it wasn't a big romantic kiss after gazing into each other's eyes.  

 

And when I'm typing this content I almost feel ashamed b/c I'm doing the "blurred lines" thing.  Plus it appears next episode he gets drunk and aggressive with whomever she appears to be flirting with.  But I am actually surprised by her reaction since she seemed to be very much into him.

 

Also, when the fuck does she do ANY work.  She looked like she was wiping down the stairs at one point but for all her bellyaching about being asked to help the service crew out, I'm not seeing her do much other than stand around.

 

I just find her so boring and bland.  Don't understand why Kelley is that interested in her except well, close quarters and being out to sea.

I don't think Jennice is really into Kelley. She's missing her boyfriend, Kelley is really cute and obviously into her, they are living in close quarters, etc. What girl isn't flattered when some cute guy likes her? She's enjoying the attention and getting her flirt on.

 

But when she pulled back from the kiss and then proceeded to tell everyone about it - just told me that she's into the drama and the "what should I do??" hand wringing of it all.

 

I love the phrase "bitchy resting face." I can't believe Kate is trying to act like the "rocket ship" was a joke all along. She was totally pissed and thought she was getting some revenge. The primary really saved her ass passing it off like it was a joke and she really "got" him.

I work in customer service (not yachts but high end folks) and you either let their nonsense roll off your back or find another line of work. I understand "getting sucked in" to the bullshit - but she has been pissy from the get go

Maybe she'll grow out of it. How old is she? She seems a little old to be pulling this type of we're just friends-kiss me-no don't kiss me BS. I laughed every time she talked about what a difficult situation she's in. You have a boyfriend and you travel for work. It's not that bad. Going 3 months without boinking a co-worker is not quiet the tragic Russian novel she seems to think it is.

Yes, on the show. But her blog made it seem like it was one big joke and the towel was a "gag gift" for the primary. I think because she got away with it she's trying to make it seem like some great prank on the guest instead of a big fuck you to him.

I think Kate's just pissed at the world because she feels like she belongs on the other side in the guest role on charter. She's put in enough years serving with a fake smile and she can't understand why she hasn't bagged a rich  sugar daddy. To be honest I don't understand either, she's got the rich lady crappy hair and cheekbones and certainly the attitude so what vibe is she giving off that no one wants to touch her?

Can I just jump in to say how much I enjoy an episode pretty dedicated to the "Bitchy Resting Face." I read a magazine article about it twenty years ago and haven't seen anything about it since. It answered my question of why I was told to smile so many times when I thought I was in good mood. Kate may have a BRF but she seemed to not like this group so in this case it was specific to them.

Maybe she just enjoyed the attention from Kelley but at some point she was sending signals (to me) that kiss would be welcomed. 

 

In fact, in her comments to Kat, I thought her real issue was she was waiting for some Prince Charming swept off her feet moment for kiss and he ruined that through an awkward moment.

 

Telling everyone.  Unless she's worried that he's going to harrass her from here on out, I'm hoping that her telling the world is really b/c she's on a reality show and knows it's good drama.  Otherwise, it's a total bitch move to act as interested as she did and then tell the world about an ill-timed kiss.

 

I mean, we've all seen the talking heads in which she is clearly talking about struggling with her feelings.  He's obviously aware of that so you know they've been talking about it.  It's not like that kiss came out of left field.

Aside from "the kiss", I enjoyed the episode and Kate's attempts to salvage her "revenge fold" and make it funny and more of a prank. I love the way she kept calling it a rocket ship, then made all the sexual puns. Ben got in on it and laughed with her, although he had to act all pissed thinking he might not get a good tip due to her antics.

I think it would be great if Kate hooked up with an eating disorder specialist.  Maybe that's just metabolism, but her bikini body reminded me very much of a friend who was extremely thin but had a weird bloated look almost. She finally got treatment for an eating disorder.

But, Kate would double-talk while trying to simultaneously claim that 1) the crew should have supported her because she needed to retaliate by due to the awful treatment she'd received and 2) it wasn't done out of any ill intentions because it was a joke!, "he's gay, so a little ol' towel like that? it's NOT really a GAG gift .... he can...take it."

It's not that she doesn't have a point about Ben standing up for himself [....] but a dick fold of a towel isn't "standing up for herself."

Hell, forget standing up for herself, also unlike Ben, with a silly stand-in like a floppy towel, Kate can't even get it up for herself. (Silly girls. Silly, bitchy girls. Silly bitches).

Also, although the actual object may have lacked, well, legs as an insult [cum gag gift*], "[you/that] dick fold of a towel" is amazing as a kickass insult as a turn of phrase, and one even a Krusty Old Sailor like Cap'n Lee may never have heard.

*double entendre not originally intended but spectacularly appreciated. What can I say, I, unlike Our Heroine, may not be a master, or even a top, but I take the material that just happens to fall into my lap ... with throes of ecstasy (like that).

At first, I just couldn't decide if I like Kate or not. But after a couple of episodes I can see that she performs her duties as a professional (except for the anchor-penis towel) and the crew seems to respect her. I have really become accustomed to her sarcastic humor. Yes, she has a bitchy resting face but she can't help that.

I have to feel for Kate a bit, because I also suffer from BRF. It's when your lips naturally turn down when you're making a neutral facial expression. You get lots of "Why are you frowning" and "What are you upset about?" The struggle is real.

Just watched this for the first time and... wow. Kate thinks she’s better than she really is. They’re the ones shelling out the money to charter a yacht, not her, and, newsflash Kate, you ARE the help, and these billionaires and their sons aren’t the von Trapps, they don’t marry the help. I actually like Kate and although she was immature I thought Ben came off as a hypocrite.

Jennice is such a pick me, I’m not like the other girls girl. The worst kind. And for as much bitching as her and Kelley did about Andrew they seem to do fuck all work themselves bar flirting while half assedly working.

Kelley appears unhinged. It’s really obvious Jennice just loves the drama.
