I am pretty sure I cleared my schedule for the day and pretended to work while I was glued to this site and possibly the Daily Mail live blog about the trial if it was still updating. The latter detail makes me feel gross, but they were the only live blog covering the trial and I lived for their misidentifications of the other Duggar boys. They thought everyone was Jed!. LMAO

As soon as the cameras are off and the grift stops -- the whole performative modesty thing goes right out the window.   Pants, monitoring activities of even adults (Jana was texting her now husband probably unmonitored), all of it.   Because it was all a scam.

Although that sweater with the horizontal band right across her stomach does Anna no favors.   I avoid horizontal stripes for that very reason.

The younger girls were wearing skirts during Jana's bridal shower week, so it seems that's still a thing.  Jana probably got a pass (on both pants and no chaperone) because of her age.  Anna's in her late 30s, so I'd guess JB gives her some latitude as well.  A couple of months ago, Joy, during a podcast discussion of how they used to swim in their clothes, said the 'swimming in clothes' rules have loosened up over the years.  So there may have been some other rule changes (or rule loosening) here and there.

eta:  In the same podcast interview, Austin said that when he first met Joy, the Duggar boys could not wear shorts, but later on, they could.

Even though she's a holier-than-thou pain in the arse, I can't help but feel a little bad for Anna. She's obviously eating her feelings. Every time it crosses her mind, which is probably often, that the good Christian man that God picked out for her turned out to be a pedophile who's now in prison, she has another handful of Doritos.

The reality of her life has got to be painful. She's still a hateful bigot with horrible beliefs, but I feel a little bad for her. Just a little.

Her social media presence over the years has suggested that she doesn't believe this at all. She thinks Josh has been railroaded and is innocent. I don't have any sympathy for that. After sitting through that trial, for her to still believe that, there's a willful ignorance there that I just don't respect or pity. I have no doubt she's miserable, but I don't think for a minute it's because she's bewailing the fact her husband is a pedophile.

Absolutely.  Anna is a true believer in Gothardism and it has been pounded into her from early childhood that it is the woman who is at fault if a man has impure thoughts; even if the 'woman' in question is a preschooler.  Children, especially girl children, are evil by nature and put on earth to lead poor men astray.  That's why even toddlers need to be covered from their neck to their knees at all times.  Heck, I am sure Anna never expected Josh to change a diaper ever because seeing a baby girl naked would be a major temptation.  Somewhere online, there is testimony from a young man who is a pedophile who claimed it was not his fault because his baby sisters would sometimes run through the house naked after their baths and this lead him astray.  So, it was the fault of his mother for not immediately slapping a diaper and clothing on them the moment they got out of the tub.

I do remember what Josh said about baby care:  Anna takes care of the top half, and he takes care of the bottom half.  It sounded like he was saying that Anna does the feeding and he changes the diapers.  Looking back on the situation, that statement gives me chills.  Maybe he was just trying to make people think he actually did help with baby care, but in hindsight I wish he hadn't said it.

When you first glance at the picture, it looks like she’s showing her entire belly. The brown band and the sticks make it look like it’s her belly and a belly button. At least she’s not going in that direction.

She did get awfully arrogant after Josh became such a big deal. But I am sad for the girl that was the homebound daughter of the prison preacher. She adored Josh when she saw him on TV and thought he was the greatest thing ever. Her good life began when they moved to Maryland while he had that important job with the family research blah blah blah. She was putting together a little playhouse on the deck, when she had like two children, I believe. Those were the glory days, and it must have been quite something to sink all the way down from that. And then further down with his conviction. But somewhere in between there, she became very arrogant. and holier than thou. That’s when she became incredibly unlikable from the poor sweet little trailer trash gal who made her own wedding clothes, and listened to her dad talk about grape juice. It’s just all a tragedy. . And now she is breeding dogs? Is there nothing but pregnancy involved with this person?

Eh, I look at her and I just feel dislike. New shoes, carefree attitude, hair curled.I know she has to go on living for her children, but she just has rubbed me the wrong way for a long time. Including still wearing her damn wedding ring. I guess she didn’t hear the trial the same way we all did.

So what exactly is happening here? Is she all on the Dugger dime, or is she getting government assistance? I don’t know how she doesn’t go crazy in that “house”. Sure, the Dugger boys probably came in and fixed it to be all modern and pretty, but I don’t remember any windows in that place. I love to be outside so stir crazy would be the words for me. Maybe that’s the deal. You stay married and live in the little garage, and you get all the free clothes and shoes you want.

I was just reading about the prison conditions, and saying how there’s not enough food, and things are expired and full of bugs. Yet he still looks as fat as ever (and I reserve the word Fat for him. I don’t criticize other people, but this dope deserves every bad word there is). Plus, they said he is strolling around in expensive sunglasses and shoes. So I guess daddy is putting a lot of money his way. Plus, he’s in the nicer dorm section. Microwaves, doing your own laundry, other privileges that most don’t get. What’s up with that? He already had bad behavior and solitary because of the cell phone. But now they said he’s getting a degree, so that might be why he qualifies.

Watch this doofus come out just as arrogant as ever, with his beloved wife waiting for him, and some dumb degree. Didn’t we figure out that Anna will probably be passed child bearing years when he gets out? Or it’ll be close. But he won’t even be able to live in the house with her, so how are they gonna figure that one out? Josh moves into the big house, and pretends not to see Anna and the kids right next-door?

I don't think we know how long Josh will serve, but he was sentenced to 12.5 years and he's still got about 10 years of that to go.  Anna is currently 36, so, if he serves the whole thing, she will be 46 when he is freed.  Most 46 year old women would have difficulty getting pregnant and their odds of carrying to term are low; so, if he doesn't get time off for some reason or another, it is likely that Anna will not have any more kids.

As far as whether he'll be able to live in the same home with his minor children, I believe that will be up to the court.  He was allowed to see the kids as long as Anna or another adult was present prior to the trial.  Also, his kids are going to be 10 years older, too.  The oldest 3 won't be minors when he is released and Meredith will become a legal adult soon after.  So, it's really just the youngest 3 who will be under the court's rules.
