Spartan Girl August 15, 2023 Author Share August 15, 2023 So much in Contagion made me furious. It hit way too close to home now. But I think the damage that Jude Law’s character wrought made him the absolute scum of the earth. It's been a long while since I've seen that movie. I'm assuming you're not referring to Tom Cruise's character who did really screw up by going after the opposing player's body, not the ball? 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/14093-oh-hell-no-movie-moments-that-anger-up-the-blood/page/13/#findComment-8115392

No. Vinny Salvucci the one who fumbled the ball at the end. He was crying in the locker room obviously feeling awful when the coach told him to have a good cry and he choked. Actually a Hell Yeah moment could be when Stef stood up for his friend and teammate to the coach. Crs97 August 28, 2023 Share August 28, 2023 Blast from the past, but the baseball movie The Rookie: Jimmy Morris’ dad is shown to be the biggest jerk who completely dismisses his son’s feelings about everything. Borderline abusive. First time he ever shows up for one of his son’s games is when he finally makes it to the major leagues. Meanwhile, Jimmy’s son has been rooting for his dad to follow his dream the entire time and his wife has been amazing in supporting him. So Jimmy has his major league debut and gives the game ball to . . . his dad. Oh, hell no!! 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/14093-oh-hell-no-movie-moments-that-anger-up-the-blood/page/13/#findComment-8123286
Spartan Girl September 7, 2023 Author Share September 7, 2023 Marriage Story: Nora getting Nicole an extra day of child custody instead of splitting it 50/50 like Nicole wanted all because she “didn’t want Charlie to feel like he won.” Incredibly low and petty even for a lawyer. I’d like to think Nicole maybe realized in that moment that for all of Nora’s “sympathy” for her, she really was in it for herself and that she helped make things worse between her and Charlie (like talking her into hacking Charlie’s emails to prove he cheated even when Nicole initially felt that the cheating was irrelevant by that point) instead of keeping it amicable. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/14093-oh-hell-no-movie-moments-that-anger-up-the-blood/page/13/#findComment-8133362
Spartan Girl November 19, 2023 Author Share November 19, 2023 A Bad Moms Christmas: Kiki drags her mom to therapy because she’s fed up with her smothering. And instead of calling out her mother for her psycho Norma Bates behavior, the shrink (Wanda Sykes) tells Kiki to suck it up and deal with it. No, I’m not kidding. And it gets better: the shrink even blames Kiki for her mom’s behavior because getting pregnant with her was what made her crazy. I know this was a movie that’s not to be taken seriously, but what kind of gaslighting bullshit is this? I expected better from you, Wanda Sykes! 2 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/14093-oh-hell-no-movie-moments-that-anger-up-the-blood/page/13/#findComment-8214363

Shannon L. April 10, 2024 Share April 10, 2024 (edited) I like the movie Erin Brokovich, I really do, but the more I watch it and the older I get, the more I can't stand her (as she's portrayed in the movie-I know it could very well have been exaggerated for entertainment). How dare she treat Ed and the other employees and the lawyers they partnered with that way? And I'm sorry, but her clothes were very inappropriate for a law office (not that I think skirts and boxy blazers are necessary, but she could have done a little better). She's lucky she was so good with the clients and discovered there was a problem. I also don't blame her boyfriend for dumping her. Sure, she needed to see it through-the job was important- and I don't think it was fair that he asked her to quit, but she could've been nicer and more appreciative of him. This post reminded me of 2 things: 2001ish Julia Roberts seemed almost as big as Taylor Swift is today. Almost. Even as a kid I just assumed her outfits were designed to get men otherwise not interested to watch the movie. It still hasn't worked with me. lol 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/14093-oh-hell-no-movie-moments-that-anger-up-the-blood/page/13/#findComment-8340769
Spartan Girl June 7, 2024 Author Share June 7, 2024 Damage: Both Stephen and Anna can rot in hell for what they did to Martyn—not to mention Ingrid. But at least Stephen got some comeuppance for his actions. Anna just walked away soullessly from the scene of Martyn’s accident and the next time we sees her she’s living happily ever after with her ex? That pissed me off. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/14093-oh-hell-no-movie-moments-that-anger-up-the-blood/page/13/#findComment-8387828

I also loathed how the title character murdered her when she thought he was going to rescue from being stoned to death and how he & her onetime paramour (whose tryst had spurred the lynch mob's horrific actions) barely reacted to the whole turn of events or Zorba's Madame Hortense's treasures having been looted by the buzzard villagers before she'd even taken her last breath- and they had ZERO compunctions about afterwards doing business with all the vile perps they KNEW had participated in these outrages! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that movie was supposed to celebrate 'simple village life'?! Spartan Girl October 19, 2024 Author Share October 19, 2024 (edited) Edward Scissorhands: The surbanites’ treatment of Edward—liking him as a novelty they can use until they turned on him as a freak for the braking and that predator bitch Joyce’s false accusations—was bad enough. But the fact that Kim didn’t even TRY to own up to the break-in was a million times worse. Her guilty conscience only stretched as far as defending Edward’s misguided ideas about what to do with stolen money at the dinner table as “nice”. Hey Kim, you know what else is the “nicer” thing to do? TELLING THE TRUTH. Didn’t see you doing that!!! And I’ve come to realize that the ending where she tells her granddaughter that it was better that she didn’t even visit Edward because she doesn’t want him to see her as old is just stupid and cruel. I would’ve preferred the final shot as something like Kim and the little girl entering the house right when Edward is working on the ice sculpture. Or screw Kim, just let the granddaughter go to the house and see him! Either way, Edward will end the movie with some goddamn company instead of being alone forever! Well, since almost everyone in that godawful movie who was in a relationship by the end would have been better off single, maybe she's the lucky one. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/14093-oh-hell-no-movie-moments-that-anger-up-the-blood/page/13/#findComment-8522007

Point taken. The thing is, her plot was the only one that wasn’t problematic in any way. Just two single people that worked together and liked each other. And yet that was the one couple that didn’t get a happy ending? We’re supposed to applaud how she self-martyrs herself for her brother’s sake and doesn’t get any hope of trying again or at the very least finding a more understanding guy at the end? Screw that. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/14093-oh-hell-no-movie-moments-that-anger-up-the-blood/page/13/#findComment-8522380

He was already pretty understanding. She didn't really give him a chance. I do agree that a happier ending for her character would be for her to establish some boundaries with her brother. He's already in a facility, she could very easily work with his therapists and staff there to lay down some rules like a call schedule or a maximum number of times he can call her per day or if she cannot pick up she will call him back in 10 minutes. Really just something that allows her to have a life outside of her brother. 4 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/14093-oh-hell-no-movie-moments-that-anger-up-the-blood/page/13/#findComment-8528680
Browncoat December 10, 2024 Share December 10, 2024 It's a very co-dependent relationship. Yes, and that’s what pisses me off: the movie basically tries to justify the takeaway that caretakers shouldn’t have their own lives. Self-martyrdom at its highest. Ugh. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/14093-oh-hell-no-movie-moments-that-anger-up-the-blood/page/13/#findComment-8529232
