The documentary is interesting.  It was made in 2008.  I'm about halfway through it, and one of the parents made the point that they intended to send their child to public school but there was no public nursery school program in NYC.  That actually changed with the advent of universal pre-K in 2014, at least for four-year-olds.

I guarantee you that that is just an excuse that clout-seeking New York parents say to make themselves feel better about choosing to put their children in these $$$ and elitist private schools. NYC now has universal PreK AND widespread 3K and I am literally hearing the exact same excuse about how they would love to send little Timmy to local public school but there just aren't any spaces. As if parents without $$$ just have their kids roaming the streets until 1st grade.

I <3 NY, so I've been trying to watch this just to get my city fix - I love the scenery, architecture, and food - but I'm not sure how much longer I can keep it up.  Aside from all the lame, scripted, badly acted manufactured drama, why do they all sound like Valley Girls?  Has vocal fry and upspeak taken over the whole country???  Sorry, but those are not authentic NY accents.  OK, maybe the two most "normal" women really live there, but I get a formerly unemployed California central casting and NYC AirBnB/VRBO vibe with the others.  Disappointing!

After watching the whole film, I think the parents who talked about public school were the real deal.  They ended up enrolling their kid in a co-op school.  They fit the profile of NY parents who would actually send their kids to public school--provided they were in a good neighborhood with a good school.  And there are quite a few.  I know quite a few people who have done this. There are really good public schools on the upper east side and west side and others.  A friend of mine, a single mother, moved into a small apartment in the zone for one of the top schools, and her son went there.  He then went to the Bronx High School of Science  by testing in.  He's starting at a top college this week.  Other friends have younger kids still in the public schools.  The parents are professionals but not super rich.  They believe in public education.

I'm a product of NYC public schools myself, but I have no children and I'm now old.  I think I would have gone the public school route if I had kids because I can't stand these private school types.  I grew up working class.

Jessel will really make a great impression on the high society contingent by expressing her naked ambition on national TV and calling her husband cheap for not "investing" in the education to allow her kids to rub elbows with the quality types, such as Tom Cruise.

That's what I think each time she goes blabbering on about stuff like that. The schools she applies to or someone other family applying or another mother whose kids are already in will find out that she was on this show and watch her scenes. She is decreasing the boys' chance each time she opens her mouth with her social climbing stupid talk.

I thought that venue was beautiful, and agree that Brynn's comments were unwarranted.  She does have a habit of talking down anyplace that she doesn't think is "cool" or "upscale" enough for her presence.

What makes a place good enough for her?

And why is she always wearing her fur coats in doors?  Advertising?  I’d like that white jacket.

Yeah, Erin's dress was fugly, and it was obvious from the way she kept tugging at the sides that she was worried the tit tape wouldn't hold.

I liked Brynn last week, but really disliked her this week. Struck me that she might be on something ... adderall or something else.

I think Abe is hot as hell, but then I like a man with a slight overbite - Bill Hader, young Letterman, Rainn Wilson - and he is better looking than all of them, so very pleasing on the eye to me.

It seems that nobody other than Ubah has any dress sense. Given several of them have worked 'in fashion', you'd think they'd at least know a stylist to help them, knowing they'll be on TV. The TH outfits, Jessel's in particular, are horrendous.

Jessel is so entitled, and I'm glad her husband stands up to her ridiculous demands.

I am really starting to like Ubah. I noticed, when they arrived at Jacob & Co, that she was friendly and polite to the doorman, saying "Nice to see you again" and briefly touching his arm. We've seen far too many HoWives treat people in service jobs as if they're invisible (at best) or with contempt (at worst).

Ubah is the only one who seems sincere.

Jessel is a fashion PUBLICIST - how does any publicist not know the meaning of inept?

Because she is inept?

This show is so scripted, and so badly done at that. The scene in the restaurant where the waitress asks Abe if he wanted one big rock or a bunch of little rocks in his drink? What waitress/waiter has ever asked that of anyone? It was obviously set up so that he could present the ring to Erin. Yawn.

I was surprised that at the store where Erin was trying on the jewelry, there were price tags hanging from the pieces. I would have thought high end jewelry stores would be like high end restaurants where there is no price listed beside the menu items.  Honestly because of the sequined dress she wore, the jewelry did not look real. Maybe in person it looked more impressive.

Why do producers think that a vow renewal is of any interest to viewers? And when Ramona and Mario Singer's vow renewal makes them look positively humble in comparison to Erin and Abe,  you know you have a problem.  That's time in my life I will never get back, but at least I managed to unpack while they were droning on in the background.

I'd watch a whole show with Jenna and Emily Hampshire. Loved Emily in Schitt's Creek, and the conversation between Jenna and Emily was about the only authentic one in the whole episode.

It's her insecurities talking, which seem especially triggered around Erin's (very privileged, very emotionally secure) home life.

I think Jessel was confusing "socially inept" with "socially adept". Much like my confusion over whether she's obtuse, pathetic, or just infuriating.

Yep, I think "adept" was the word she was searching her tiny brain for. Had to admit her husband made me laugh. He can be funny, but she doesn't seem to even like him (or her kids).

Like many others have posted, I was totally on Erin's side for the first gathering she had, but now I'm feeling like she's deserving of the digs people have been making about the lack of food at her events. I think she really may be one of those people who doesn't think or care about food at all. It's just not on her radar.

The anniversary party totally reminded me of my company's annual holiday parties, where we have to stand around and listen to boring speeches, and we literally have to hunt down and tackle servers for small puff pastry appies!

Erin's dress was indeed terrible - so unflattering and uncomfortable looking.

Ubah is growing on me, and I wish she had been able to attend. So far, I'd say she and Jenna are my favourites.

Bryn: you are not anywhere near as fun and adorable as you think you are.

Erin what is with you and not having options for food? You had this whole thing sponsored but you only had pigs in a blanket? Seriously do you have an issue with food? This is just weird

It was no more flirty then she’s been with EVERYONE else tho .. it didn’t come across as serious she was just being herself .. I honestly didn’t see it like she was “after” him

No one in the food industry would sponsor the party?  It looked like Jill Zarin's Kodak party.
