When Sam told Lexi off, that was the first time I really understood that they actually are friends, and not just Sam tolerating Lexi for unknown reasons. I still find Lexi extremely irritating, though.

Hahaha. Edward's line about Nell forgetting to bring him a pastry was so hilarious. Talk about timing 🤣. And Dennis getting along with the kids was really cute.

I’ve been watching simply because I’m curious where they’re going with the “journalist stuck writing obits” premise. However I really enjoyed this episode (my attention didn’t wander). Halfway through, I asked, “Where were all these really funny one-liners all season?”  Definitely funnier and more plentiful this episode. 
On a serious note, I’m glad Lexi understood that she’s doing her daughter no favors. Typical of that kind of character though, she’ll need frequent reminders to socialize her manipulative daughter.

Yay, Rhea Pearlman! I loved all the mail jokes/lingo. What makes this show work for me are the characters around Nell and the ghosts. They have found some great guest stars. 
I can be on board with Phillip. I got teary eyed at his confession at the end. I love the honest adult conversations on this show (same with Sam telling off Lexi).

Edward and Lexi were fun together, but I don't want them as a couple. He said she's too much, and only tolerable in small doses. That's not a foundation for intimacy. Also, I like him and I find her incredibly irritating.

I would love this show so much more if there was a different actress playing  Nell. I said the same for Jane the Virgin. She’s just not believable in playing the part of the irresistible to hot men role. 
The other actors are superb in their parts. l’ve loved Lauren Ash since superstore & wish she was more active on the show but the character is a little annoying!

OMG I must be the only one who likes Gina Rodriguez 🤕 She does a fine job imo and I loved her on Jane The Virgin.

When I started watching this show, I did not like her because of her look. She is growing on me episode by episode.  She is NOT beautiful, but she is real and funny. She made herself so unattractive when she was in that "sick" episode. Most actresses can not even do the sleeping scene without makeup.

i don't really see nell as in the role of someone irresistible to hot men, guess i missed that.

didn't know lauren before this but i really hate the character she plays

Count me as sitting at the table of Non-Nell fans.  I never saw JTV or Superstore.  Martin Mull has been the most recognized actor to me.

I agree! I think Hannah Simone would have been great as Nell.

I like Hannah Simone but I don’t think she’s a great actress. I don’t think she could carry the character with the same emotion Gina does.
