Glad it wasn't just me! I didn't remember Amelia having her own place in the fall.

In the beginning of the episode Amelia was talking about the new place she got after the fire and how it’s weird being alone when Scout isn’t there. These people don’t act like actual adults lol.

As Meredith’s big send-off, this episode was entirely underwhelming. I enjoyed Zola and her scenes may have been the highlight for me.  It was extremely disappointing that there was no meaningful exchange between Mere and Richard. That was a lost opportunity for the characters, for the show and for Krista. I liked the Amelia - Lucas “Aunt Amy” - “Shep” scene. That felt real as an interchange between a nephew and aunt who just want to set aside the familial relationship in favor of their respective professional identities. 

Every other point I would have made has already been made above. It makes sense to me to retitle the show (GA: TNG, anyone?) going forward or with season 20. 
 

Grey’s has been must-see TV for me since season 2. I have no issues with the new interns but I’m not engaged with them. I don’t care if Taryn Helm is the new Joe (who was a great recurring character, btw) or if she returns to Grey-Sloan as a senior resident, fellow or attending. I like Maggie and Winston but their issues are just silly.  I care about that resolution as much as I do Owen and Teddy’s. And Teddy could be the new chief or not. I’m not dissing or abandoning the rebooted Grey’s, but I’m not compelled to watch it each Thursday night. I’ll catch up whenever.

I especially enjoyed her shushing the residents (or whatever they are) who actually have a reason to shut up and learn something right now, as opposed to the kid who is there just because it interests her. I mean, someday they will have their own groundbreaking, once-in-a-lifetime procedure to do. (Because that's what happens at this hospital, right?) They should be paying attention.

Thanks, I must have missed that. I guess that was setting up Maggie moving in with her now that and Winston are blowing up. Because I don't know how they come back from admitting they don't respect each other.

Definitely. I used to clean apartments in the summers for the university in the town where I grew up (between tenants) and I had to clean one that had had a fire. No way no how you just move back into a house after that without some serious cleaning and work. I think I care more about this than the writers, clearly.

I am just over Maggie and her childish bullshittery. Being a supposed genius does not have to mean she is a terrible person. Winston needs to divorce her selfish ass and cut his losses.

I think so, when he was supposed to be buying the place. I remember mattresses on the floor, and Jo buying him a couch (just before the window and wall were crushed by a falling tree).

A house down the road, was destroyed in a fire. It sat empty for a while, and then it was entirely rebuilt and sold. Nobody was living there.

unpopular opinion but I liked the episode kind of. I was dreading another Ode to Meredith episode. I feel like we've gotten plenty of those already such as when she won the Harper Avery. I don't need another. 

Helm annoyed per usual with her "meredith can do anything" stupid speech. She hasn't earned the right to do anything. But otherwise I liked Helm's interaction with Mika. 

Glad Glasses was barely on screen. 

I wish they could come up with a better storyline for Maggie and Winston. He comes across as nice. Give him something interesting to do.

it's free rent. I'm sure they were happy for it. Especially Yasuda who was living in her van that got towed away.

I think it was a visiting doctor who created it but Maggie and especially Amelia used to calm down.

Greys has built my BS tolerance up. I figured there was at least a one month time jump from the fire. Meredith mentioned living in a hotel for a while and Maggie said she and Winston hadn't spoken for weeks. The house didn't look bad when they showed the interior so I'm just gonna assume, Meredith had professional cleaners come give it a scrub down.

Thanks to the wonder of international sharing of television shows, Disney + finally dropped this episode.

They were all so wooden.  So much feeled forced.  It was such a disappointing episode.  I need to rewatch to see how long ago EP checked out.  So many others seemed to have checked out too. Gut feeling here - I think this is the last season - I hope this is the last season if it continues in the same vein, wooden performances, crap storylines, or even rehashed storylines...

I was wondering today, ahead of tonight's episode, which characters and storylines I actually have an interest in.  The only one is Helm working at Joe's Bar. Suddenly she's all confident and glam, and we get to hang out at Joe's Bar again.

yes i liked Helm here - honest - actually saying she is gay (which i think she did before this season but never actually in a past season).

I am happy if she stays in the bar (and dates say mika?) or comes back and is in charge like glasses.

i was expecting some flashback shots but i suppose we got enough of that on the beach scenes (which i enjoyed mostly)
