On NCIS, will we see any more revelation into Agent Parker’s reference to “Lily” and his mom? –Serena
“I will say this…,” Steven D. Binder told TVLine as part of an in-depth (and unexpectedly juicy) Fall TV Preview Q&A. “It’s not entirely clear to him who this girl [seen in flashback/hallucination] was. There’s something in his past that even he’s not aware of that’s bubbling to the surface.”

Parker goes down the Pride (Bakula from ncis NOLA) path having visions. Not sure how NOLA handled that, but might be more interesting.

No visions!! I think those visions and all his background are what really killed the show.  I hate visions.

Withdrawn and moody isn't good either.  I liked Parker so much as Gibbs' replacement because he wasn't withdrawn and moody.

Any notable guest stars early on in NCIS Season 22 that you can tell us about? –Maria
A juicy guest star role will need to be filled for when the team encounters a superspy who has become… less spry. “We’ve got a fun episode about what happens when a guy like Jason Bourne or James Bond — one of these really serious, high-end people who are involved in espionage — ends up in a retirement home, suffering from the things that all of our parents and grandparents suffer,” showrunner Steven D. Binder told me. “What do you do when you have those sort of skills, and that sort of knowledge, and you’re starting to lose your s–t?”

NCIS (Oct. 14, CBS)

Spoiler

It’s been six months since Jessica Knight (Katrina Law) accepted the REACT chief job in California, and her departure has since created what showrunner Steve Binder calls a “chain reaction” with the crew: Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) vies for a deputy director position, and Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) returns to his undercover roots. “The team kind of separates, so picture Parker [Gary Cole] walking into the bullpen and the kids aren't home,” says Binder. It’s not long before a case leads Parker out west, though, reuniting him with Jessica — who may or may not be mulling whether she made a mistake for leaving boyfriend Jimmy (Brian Dietzen) behind. “Under the worst circumstances possible will these two have the talk,” quips Binder. All in all, expect heavy hitting episodes filled with romance, “fun and unusual” pairings, and mystery. Like, who the hell is Lily (Sunnie Pelant)? “I wouldn't be so sure that Parker knows who she is either,” teases Binder. “We don't always remember the scars of our youth.” —Jessica Wang

ETA:
In a bit of trivia, Sunnie Pelant, who's going to play Lily in NCIS, previously played Booth and Brennan's young daughter Christine in Bones.

Thank you. Is Sunnie Pelant the same person who played yellow-dress Lily (on the ship) in the s21 finale? Or is Sunnie an older, teen actress?

Imdb said she was in 1 episode of ncis: in 2019(?!), palying a character called Lily... BURKE?

Will NCIS be setting McGee up for promotion to the executive ranks, especially after he did so well filling in for Vance in the previous two seasons? –Charlie

Spoiler

McGee this season will be “angling for a deputy director position,” says showrunner Steven D. Binder, though, “being the investigative hound that Tim is, he’s going to sniff something on the way to this journey. He’s going to see that something is not right in the halls of government around him.”

Will NCIS or NCIS: Origins have a Christmas episode this year? –Maria
I can confirm that NCIS will in fact gift us with its first Christmas episode in a while, and that both CBS procedurals will serve up Halloween-themed outings. Bonus scoop: NCIS: Origins, which debuts this Monday at 9/8c with a double-episode premiere, is casting some guest stars as family members — namely, a wife for Caleb Foote’s Randy, and two sisters for Mariel Molino’s Lala.
....

Will we see McGee’s twins Morgan and Johnny on NCIS this season? –Natalie
Addressing the now-comedic topic of Tim and Delilah’s “forever-unseen twins,” showrunner Steven D. Binder explained that COVID protocols in recent years got in the way of having tykes on-set. Though that’s not so much the case anymore. “Even when we brought Jimmy Palmer’s daughter on [in February 2022], we had to magically age her a little bit,” he notes. “Now she’s older than McGee’s kids, so do we age McGee’s kids?”

Katrina Law — who previously described the exes’ catch-up as “awkward and funny and heartbreaking and wonderful at the same time” — also hinted at some possible epiphanies. “Both of them are essentially people pleasers, and sometimes that can be toxic at times,” she said. “I think what they have to ask themselves is, ‘Were we each other’s rebounds for the traumas that we’ve both recently experienced? And even though there’s a lot of genuine love there, is that love enough, and can we overcome?'”

It’s the “What if Jason Bourne developed dementia?” case that I told you about back in August, with John Getz (MacGruder and Loud, Bosch) playing a former superspy from the 1970s — which offers you just a bit of context for the McGee photo above.

NCIS – Likely Renewal
...
NCIS keeps scoring renewal after renewal despite losing considerable ground in the ratings year-to-year.

The most recent season is averaging 5.2 million viewers and a 0.35 rating. However, it still gets a boost during that crucial first week of viewing, rising to 7.6 million viewers and a 0.52 rating.

However, the continued ratings erosion as the budget balloons is a cause for concern, and we saw how the network treated NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: Hawai’i, so we don’t see this lasting much longer without some big changes.

It's an old cop show you either like the characters  or not. The premise of solving sailors getting murdered cases is just hard to sustain and frankly amazing that they got 20 years out of it.

Respect sean murray for showing up to work for 20+ years. Make money while the sun shines.

CBS, here you go:

Wilmer valderama- goodbye. They can find a cheaper and fresher breath of air within a week.

Sean murray and medical examiner palmer- each rotate 2 episodes in, 1 episode off. Their presence is disposable and they don't check any boxes.

I would agree that the show, for the last couple of years at least, has been entertaining enough, but nothing to write home about. It's certainly not Gary Cole's fault-he's been a nice change of pace from Mark Harmon's Gibbs. The fact is, this show has been on for over 20 years. It's hard to keep things fresh on a show that's been on for longer than five years, much less twenty-two. I don't know if any kind of "shakeup" would right things.

I'd say the show gets another year to right itself, to see if NCIS: Tony and Ziva perhaps gives the mothership a boost.  If that doesn't happen, it's probably goodbye.

I don't know about the quaity of NCIS: Origins, but if people are avoiding it because Hawaii was cancelled, well-like the current mothership, it's entertaining enough, but forgettable. It wasn't Firefly, that's for sure.

NCIS Origins might have had more intrique to fans if Gibbs'  backstory had never been fully known. Myself, I've had more than enough of Gibbs' angst and his tragic family story had been brought up time and time again. I didn't want to see or hear about more of it. And I think a lot of fans felt the same, which is why it's not pulling it's weight

With Tony and Ziva, there's plenty of unfinished business that fans like myself would like to see. How much milage it has in the long run remains to be seen though.

Personally I  was more annoyed that they kept the show about Australian Federal Police officers greatest honor is to work for an American agency. I  got the attempt to stay with a beloved character. But it was probably only worth a movie not a full season run when about the only real difference is a lack of smartphones.

They are done and past the angst bit.

I think it was a poor decision to push the angst bit at the beginning even because of what you said.  But we are way past the family tragedy stuff and on to far more interesting fare at this point.

Exactly. What I find interesting is seeing Gibbs as a not fully grown agent, the newbie, probie, who is learning how to be the seasoned agent we meet in the NCIS pilot.
