  1. ^"Heartfelt" writing is the main genre that ncis writers know. Did they seriously give 35% of this episode to Curtis, who has no historical or celebrity significance? Once again, I am underwhelmed. Fornell had 10 seconds to be adorable with his fellow slightly-younger chum (Parker). Someone noticed the parallel between Fornell crashing on Gibbs' couch, to sleeping on Parker's couch now. No one in their 70s is sleeping on any couch though.
  2. NCIS renewed for season 22 (2024-2025). Go,go,go, Gary! No word on NCIS Hawaii yet. Any guesses? https://tvline.com/news/ncis-renewed-season-22-cbs-1235198589/
  3. This episode had 3 writers, 1 of which is the ncis showrunner himself (since the Gary Cole seasons). He is a good writer (the hard-hitting Parker scene, the unusual Vance-Parker-diner lol-scene). Unfortunately he isn't great at strategizing the arc of the seasons, like this season. Don't mean to make this too Real Life, but we all know good accountants who don't become the best CFO right? Interesting bread crumbs: is AI-daddy a Big Bad (actor can pull it off)? Did they set up the season finale? (I think yes). Is Curtis a Big Bad mole? Why is he guesting so much when Kasie could cover all his techspeak exposition?
  4. I cannot believe after 48 episodes of Gary Cole, no one on the crew cares about his hair continuity. It keeps varying by an inch (especially over the ears) throughout the episode. In every episode. Takes viewers out of the whole story. It's so obvious they film his longer hair scenes first, then a hair trim, then the shorter hair scenes are done. Repeat each episode. I like his hair short, above the ears. You? Other than that, father Knight is a silver fox too. Don't care about the hallmarky doo-cute doo-dramatic.
  5. Yep, agree with everything. This ep was twisty-turny with doe-eyed girlfriend. Boyfriend turned out to be a weirdo flake (with top secret blueprints access), but no one cares. The heeheehaha B-plot of Torres shacking up with Parker? Well, I guess the most unrealistic part was it was written like Parker is a fellow 40-something like the rest, and not... Much older than the team. This one was directed by Ncis LA star Daniela Ruah. She must like Gary Cole, nearly all the black-and-white phoofs started and ended on him (the way it should be). Next episode airs March 25. The character in focus will be...
  6. Is Till busy nowadays? I found him ok, but smirks too much. And CBS can't give a second famous, re-imagined role to the same actor. The public will think "wtf? Are there only 10 actors in CBS's pocket?" I won't watch Young Gibbs, so idc. Guy is gorgeous. Maybe in a more pretty-boy way than Ncis-era Harmon. Guy has a bigger chin, to nitpick. I wonder if expensive NCIS Hawaii will get cancelled... Because Young Gibbs show has to follow directly after NCIS...
  7. Wow, they have been working Gary Cole like a dog this season. He was in over 80% of this episode. Not complaining, as he is the only reason I watch this network schlock. I wished he had meatier material to chew on, but I'm guessing Ncis has always been a lightweight "heeheehaha". Cole will turn 68 later this year. So hardworking.
  8. Paramount/CEO execs get paid 7-figs, and their solution is to... Double-down (no, triple-down) on NCIS and new spinoffs. They figure Tivah fans might skew 40ish yo, as opposed to ncis viewers who skew older(?) At least NCIS OG's renewal is now rock-solid guaranteed for the 2024-2025 season (to cross-promote the spinoffs), so I get a few more droplets of Parker lore. This Tivah show will film in Europe, not L.A like ncis og. So, I don't think cote and weatherly will cameo on OG again. Fine with me, as Gary Cole doesn't get enough good material, as it is.
  9. ^Parker gets 1 episode, like everyone else who... Can't anchor the show. If this 10-episode season was a Gibbs one, he'd have at least 4 about him: - a dead child= angy. - Connecting with another victim= angy to solve the case. - Angy about animal abuse= angy. - And 1 more. At this point, just use the potted plant in Vance's office as Gary Cole's stand-in.
  10. Fun enough, but still in cliché NCIS flavor. Guess Vance and Parker can communicate without words now, like Siegfried and Roy. Rocky himself directed this episode. Kasie can make me tear up with her "I am in fear", " I am all alone" emotional lines, but her chemistry with CIA Webb was nonexistent. Parker could have been more caring when Kasie invited herself into the massacre scene, but at least he really beat himself up by sending her to get food... And get kidnapped.
  11. I think LL Cool J's salary has blown the budget of NCIS: Hawaii. This might be their last season, given the diminishing returns. Interview with CBS prez Amy R., she had positive comments about all other NCIS including Sydney, but nothing to say about Hawaii. Amy Reisenbach On CBS Switching To Long-Term Development With No Pilots This Season, Launching 2023-24 Lineup With Super Bowl & ‘NCIS’ Future By Nellie Andreeva January 31, 2024 https://deadline.com/2024/01/cbs-2024-2025-tv-season-plans-super-bowl-ncis-1235808963/ Also, the new NCIS: Origins (young Gibbs show) must directly follow behind original NCIS in the 2024-2025 season. So what now? Move Hawaii to 8pm? Unlikely.
  12. It hit me. They had to waste the finale and this "miscommunication storyline" premiere on torres, because they weren't sure if wilmer wanted out for Zorro. Obviously, Zorro ain't happening this spring/year, so we are saddled with another season of tedious torres. At least they gave Parker some small comedy and drama bits to play here, including the call "cliffhanger" (it isn't). Parker is the only one who can anchor the show. The rest may be likable (or tedious), but forgettable.
  13. Yes, nearly no one cares about torres stilted acting, except for the actor himself. Wilmer did an interview about this ep, where he romanticized that this ep "broke something" in torres. Puh-leeze. Stfu. I think Parker is a younger brother with a big sister history too, from the knowing look he gave Sis Torres when they first talked in the conference room. The team bettah stick their necks out even more when Parker has his inevitable-in-grave-danger ep this finale. He's really doing even more for team than ever before. This writer Christopher Waild is usually one of the better ones, but he was saddled with torres. What can you do?
  14. "Fun fact, as a Parker, I always find good parking." Where do they come up with these eccentric lines for Gary Cole? Knight should have said "oh? Are you a nosy Parker too?" I give them props for not pushing Parker-Knight into a stereotypical dad-daughter simile; that's for Parker-Kasie. Ish.
  15. Yes, Kasie in that scene jumped out at me. Too out of character. Guess they didn't have McGee available to be there so the two senior agents could bounce that "trade the kidnapped dad" idea off each other. The senator's house is stunning. It has to be a real house, and not an elaborate set constructed for 1 episode. The view outside was great and hilly. Is DC that hilly? Can anyone ID whatever region of LA looks this great? Maybe Santa Barbara hills?
