I’m glad this Fabby story is done. I’m interested in seeing Chad and Cat falling in love, for real.

I hope that Chad doesn't hold it against her for long when he hears her full story.

Good show today!

Glad we finally have a real name for Cat. I hate that Konstantin now has four grandkids in town. I pray the show retcons OG Catharina's paternity fast. Good performances by both Cat and Chad today.

The Marlena and Kayla stuff was pure filler.

Brady and Sarah scenes were excellent. Brady for once is thinking with his brain, and Sarah's silence was all the confirmation he needed. I like that he understood and is letting it go. He has done some bad stuff in his day too.

Kristen is just disgusting. If she ends up with both companies I will be so angry. And how ridiculous for her to expect Titan for an untested serum that may not even work, or may have terrible side affects.

I feel like those Marlena/Kayla scenes were supposed to really be John/Marlena.

I liked the JJ/Steve scenes. Although the lack of Jack/Jennifer in this story is really bad.

I decided to comment since I'm pretty excited about Joy's introduction to the cast. So far, I thought the actress was good. She didn't do anything that wowed me, but she at least has energy. Sadly, that's all it takes to stand out on Days' lethargic cast. While we don't know too much yet, I do like how Nancy described her as a drama queen with a penchant for messy situations. Granted, I thought the actress felt a little too grounded and mature for drama queen, but we'll see how it goes.

I really wish the show would recast Carson/the Johnny actor. He's never been dynamic, and he's somehow even more forgettable in scenes than when he was first introduced. Similar to Casey/the JJ actor, I think he's a handsome man who fails to generate chemistry. Based on the Johnny/Joy scenes, I just can't imagine this being a breakout pairing. I think the Joy actress was doing her best to sell it, but Carson seemed so disinterested. I don't need Johnny to be a bad boy, but I at least need him to have a personality.

I know this is going to be sacrilegious, but I don't like the Stephanie/Jada friendship. The actresses do not work well together.

I despise Stephanie. DESPISE.

Alex/Justin, Paulina/Chanel, Bonnie/Nancy, I'm not certain how the show ended up with so many chemistry-free pairings in one episode.

I kept hoping Ben would should up and strangle some people.

I like Stephanie and Jade.   Mostly I like seeing women be friends, which seldom happens on this how any more.   They talk about women being friends but don't actually show it.   Friends going out and discussing their feelings about something is nice.

Well, thanks, Chanel, for making me feel old when I'm barely forty.

So Paulina got Ricky Martin to perform at her fifth birthday party, and the only song of his that she really knows is "Livin' La Vida Loca?"  And she only knows it from Shrek 2?  That song was out years before that movie came out, and Chanel only remembers it from that?!

Fun fact: I met Ricky Martin when he was in Menudo and performed in my hometown.  Teen me had a picture with him, but stupid me let a friend borrow that photo @ 2000 I think, (to show her coworker a young, pre-super famous Ricky) and the photo is now lost.  And I much prefer the song he did for the World Cup.

I think Casey does great with the drama/comedy he has great chemistry with his TV family.  With Carson I don't really sense a connection with anyone except Chanel and they have done nothing with Johnny.

I expected Johnny to be more menacing and aristocratic. The actor who played Colin would've made a better Johnny to me. However they don't seem to care about developing the male characters on this show compared to the females I've noticed.

Paulina/Chanel is the only time Paulina is tolerable to me these days because she seems like an actual human being and not a cartoon.

I should have been more specific. I don't think Casey generates romantic chemistry, but he is great with his family. Johnny/Carson, I don't think is good with anyone.

Still liking Joy, but . . . I hope she isn't here to be Johnny and Chanel's interloper.  They already have the show itself to serve as their source of conflict.

Carson did very well today when Johnny finally confronted Chanel.  Unfortunately, now Johnny looks like a fool since the truth is out.

Chanel has nobody but Alex to pick up a cake? She lives in a house with a dozen Dimeras and staff.   She also can't just text Alex, but has to keep going over to her ex's apartment?

Johnny stupid but Chanel not innocent.

Were Chanel and Alex in a relationship? I thought they only had the threesome with Allie.

Either way, I do think Chanel is innocent. She has done nothing but plan a surprise party for Johnny. She hasn't flirted with Alex, misled Alex, and she's been ignorant of Johnny's trepidations because Johnny hasn't shared them until just now. That's all on Johnny.

He’s not her ex. One threesome doesn’t make him an ex. And even if he was, so what?

She is absolutely innocent. Did she cheat on her husband? No. Then she is 1000% innocent of what Johnny accused her of. Telling white lies to plan a surprise party for her husband doesn’t make her guilty. Is it a stupid plot contrivance that she leaned on him so heavily to plan the party? Yeah, but that’s on the writers.

Wow.  Kudos to Ron for remembering the real reason that Craig and Nancy had Joy.  But I didn't think that Joy would harbor some resentment for that, because from everything that I'd seen from Craig and Nancy, they would've loved Joy whether she'd been a bone marrow match for Chloe or not.

Johnny had real egg on his face to match the cake that Chanel ended up putting on it.

Would Kate have been allowed to just fire Stephanie like that?

Someone brought this up on another board but Chanel did something similar when Johnny pushed her away and she slept with Allie.

That being said Johnny is still an idiot.

Loved how Stephanie tried blaming Seth Burns when her hooking up with Alex came out.  Yup, it was ALL his fault and she was COMPLETELY  blameless in this situation, other than, you know, the whole hooking up at work thing.

The plot driven crap was strong today.

Why would Xander hand over Titan for an untested drug manufactured by a guy who always produces "cures" with lethal side affects? Why is there no clause in the contract for it not working?

Why on earth wouldn't EJ charge Fiona with attempted murder for shoving Sarah down a staircase? That's a whole new crime. And Fiona is cool with walking around free knowing her son has a baseball bat and a gun?

Rafe is so effing boring.

Fiona getting to walk away is ridiculous. That makes no sense. Xander can feel free to kill her now.  Trask deserves what she gets too.

I agree.  But today's show was the first entire episode I've been able to sit through all week.  It was boring, it was predictable, made little sense character or otherwise, but it wasn't Body and Soul.  Just an episode NOT being that is enough right now to get me to sit through it.

I'm happy for everyone who is enjoying the  revitalization of the teen scene with the addition of Joy Wesley.  Even so, it's not for me.  I've never been very interested in any teen scene on DOOL, even when I was closer in age to one.  Nothing against any of the actors or storylines, just not my cup of tea.  I am hoping that Nancy isn't sticking around.  I've never been able to stand that character for more than a couple of episodes.  BUT, at least it's not Body and Soul.

I feel the same way about the fake Abby storyline.  I think the actress is really good - new face for me though apparently not for most people.  She's good!  And maybe Chad will be good again, too, someday.  But, at least it's a break from Body and Soul.

I'm tired to death of Clyde Weston in any shape or form.  And while Jada is the best relationship Rafe's ever had, that's mostly because he's been in a coma for most of it.  Now he's awake, goddammit.  Though it's hard to tell the difference.  But, at least it's not Body and Soul.

The only storyline, for me, that makes me want to watch is Xander and Sarah and by extension, any storyline tied to them.  But those scenes up till now have been too few and too far between.  Maybe with Philip back (even played the odious and one-note JPL) things will get more interesting.  Again, at least it's not Body and Soul.

Alex, Stephanie, Leo, Abe, and even Kate are ff material to me, as Bonnie always was and as Marlena soon will be if this what she's reduced to.  Body and Soul is the worst thing DOOL has done in as long as I can remember.

Boes, am I sensing a theme in you post?   hahaha, feel the same way.

And, hello Philip.  Loved the way Xander scrunched up his face while saying 'Philip', and Philip did it right back, without saying a word! 😂

Boes you are me. I only watched Monday and Friday this past week. I have not seen Alex or Leo since August I think, skipping BS themed episodes as I do, and I have yet to see Joy and probably won't.

Like you I have zero interest in teen stories, even when played by actors pushing 30.

I'm in it for all things Xander and Kiriakis adjacent, Melinda and EJ doing anything (but I'd love them to do things together) and I'm into the Chad mess now it's moving. Clyde needs to go into a wood chipper with Kristen. Both characters are beyond played out.

I wonder if we will get a Fiona murder on NYE. Reron loves that trope. Xander, Sarah, Brady, Maggie and even Sophia can be suspects before we find out Fiona was involved with Clyde at some point and he had her murdered.

I liked Trask before the baby switch. She seemed to have integrity but wasn't above doing what it takes to make it happen. I don't get that vibe from her at all now.

My mistake for lumping in with the teens.  I skip so much of anything Body and Soul related that I pretty much only caught her scenes with her mother.

I found it cringey. JPL needs to stop pulling faces every two seconds. Now he can't even appear in a two second cliffhanger without doing it 🙄

I still find it frustrating how his segment of Victor's funeral was the worst. Why haven't they recast with someone more suave and natural?

Well, what a lame exit for Stefan.  Kidnapped back to Alamainia just to keep him from reuniting with Gabi?  Come on.

At least this brings back Vivian, who's up to something with Philip.  I wonder whether that document he pulled out is real or fake?

This episode also introduced us to Rafe and Gabi's cousin, Javi Hernandez.  The actor's pretty good so far, but I don't know how I feel about the character yet.  But hearing that he's gay pretty much tells me that he's meant to be a love interest for Leo.

Was that really the last we've seen of Fiona?  Serena I could've sworn is still on contract.

Serena had a 13 week contract, that is all they do now except for the main cast who sign 26 weeks. So we can expect all the ones who started today (Viv, Philip and possibly Javi) to be on a 13 week story as well.

Philip is kind of a trip. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but he isn't boring. Going to enjoy him and Xander going at it as brothers. Vivian totally wrote that letter and she and Philip are teaming up to snag Titan as partners. She is probably the one who came up with the plan. It's going to be a story of Good (Xander/Maggie) vs Evil (Philip/Vivian) cause Ron sucks. I would prefer something where the two of them team up against Kristen instead of the usual against each other.

Sad to see Fiona go, but I am hopeful she will return, and I hope it is when we have two female head writers who do not turn every Mother character into some sort of Mommy Dearest nightmare. Serena did what she could with weird writing. Ultimately I do think she was genuine with what she said today, but that as an addict she will always preserve herself over anybody else.

Javi annoyed me with his first moments but then he calmed down a bit and I liked him. I felt for him with how hurt he was that his mother (another problematic one apparently) gave her ring to Rafe and not him, and the inquiry of how Connie lost her job was amusing. He and Gabi had good cousin chemistry off the bat, but I am dreading him and Leo together. He and Dimitri worked because Dimitri was less over the top. Two flamboyant characters will be like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Reron strikes again! Stefan being abducted while still loving Gabi is almost an exact replica of the story where Kristen abducted Sarah and Xander didn't know that she still loved him and never left. I imagine this was meant to be a rest for the character but it might be permanent now that the show has really angered the actor, and I don't blame him. Having said that, seeing Ivan and Vivian together again was such a joy.

I get it Brady, Eric is the best man on the planet. How I wish this was John in this story. Speaking of Brady, does he really believe Kristen is handing over the serum to help Sarah without something significant in return? Does he not recall the stupid orchid she held over his head until 3 women sort of died? Is Brady not a Kiriakis family member? Did he not get the memo about Titan being given to Dimera? Did he think Xander was just doing that cause he was grateful? So many questions.... but glad he has a new self driving car. Can't believe he took the keys. Sigh. I am not up for Bristen Part whatever this is.

I was also getting a same-y vibe from him. Not "flamboyant" exactly, but not different enough from Leo to compliment his energy.

Maybe they can be enemies? Please?

But yeah, rather enjoyed today's episode. Long live Vivian and Louise! They make everything better. And she seemed stronger today. Knew her lines, no shakiness. During the last few visits she seemed more tentative.

And bless Ivan. Why he'd still call her Madame at this point, I don't know, but I love him too.

I hated seeing Eric be in any way nice to Kristen. And since she pulled this exact same miracle cure stunt years ago to weasel out of going to prison for raping Eric, now would have been the perfect time for him to snap at her for doing it again.

Fiona's farewell was great. Loved her fancy blazer and honesty. She deeply sucks, but understands that.

The worse part of the show for me was JPL's rubberfaced Philip. He's waaaaay too much. PLEASE RECAST THIS CHARACTER ALREADY!

Really good points. Brady, Ciara, Claire, Hope, Bo and probably John would have all been in Victor's will and heirs to some degree. He cared about them all.

I think "good at forgeries" Vivian is using Philip by having sent him a fake letter so he'd take Titan away from Xander.

Honestly though, why does she care at this point? Why would an 80 year old want to co-run a company? Is she broke?

I do think all those lines Brady said to Eric were supposed to be about John.

Maybe just trying to get revenge on Victor since she didn't get his estate when she died? I can't recall the exact story now, but didn't she crash his funeral making a big fuss about how she rightfully was still Victor's wife or something and Maggie basically kicked her out?

Kate is gonna be furious with Philip when she finds he's scheming with Viv!

Yup, that's the gist of it. I suppose I'm just confused with how they write plots for some of the veterans. Corporate takeovers at 80? Super spies at 70? Returning from the dead in your late 60s?

I remember reading that Viv had a sendoff years ago where she finally gave into Ivan's affections and they settled in India to make Bollywood movies or something. That honestly sounds nicer for Viv than the in and out of jail/shooting people/kidnapping babies/crashing funerals stuff she's been up to these last fifteen years.

I like the grand dame and want her to have a happy life, you know? Sure she's nutty, but she's always entertaining and believable.

Yes that’s what happened and while I think Victor was better suited with a scheming wife I found that retcon pointless if she wasn’t sticking around for it.

I also think that after a certain age that certain jobs aren’t realistic for these characters. Days dropped the ball not passing the torch to the next generation but I think all soaps are guilty of this

If it continues to get renewed, I wonder if they'll reinvest in the Lucas/Carrie generation of characters, who theoretically have room left to grow.

I can't see the Sophia/Tate generation carrying things.
