Bill was right on a lot this week, but my God his weird Elon ass kissing.  Dude is not a genius, lmao.  He doesn't go in and fucking design the spaceships FFS.

He IS good at getting his online edgelord lackeys to make him even richer....that's legitimately clever as a businessman.  But it's not what Bill is saying he does.

This was probably the least annoyed I've been with the show recently. I liked the opening monologue joke about Madison Cawthorn (his opponent had a great slogan: Google Madison Cawthorn.)

Mark Esper shilling for his book. Everyone who left the Trump administration wrote a book. They don't get a pat on the back for it. And what does it take to be #3 on the best seller's list these days when so few people read books anymore? And I agree with Bill that Esper is probably naive about whose side the military is on. But at least Bill held his feet to the fire by making him admit he would still, essentially, vote for Trump given the choice between him and a Democrat, and that a write-in or third party vote was the same as a vote for Trump. No points for you, Mark Esper.

LOL on Donna Brazile saying she prepared all week for Bill's bullshit. At least he more-or-less kept focus this week. But if Elon Musk thinks Democrats are the party of hate and division I don't see how he can be called a genius.

Bill is constantly complaining about Democratic messaging and clearly thinks Ultra Maga is stupid. (If he listened to Pod Save America, like I do, he'd hear some actually informed opinions for a change, and it turns out "Ultra Maga" polls really well, in that voters tend to react more negatively towards it than simply "Trump supporters"). So I'd like to know what, exactly, Bill thinks is the right messaging for Democrats. He kept slamming the table and insisting it's not about policy, so what is it?

At least Adam Carolla was able to articulate that he wanted Democrats to be fiscally more conservative and socially liberal, even though that's actually Libertarian, but whatever. All Bill does is bitch and moan. Does he have any suggestions or solutions or is it just about him bitching and moaning?

I'm not sure where he was going with that final New Rule. I don't think children are identifying more as trans because of peer pressure. There are still bullies. I think it's more likely that it's just more accepted and understood now than ever before. I'll admit, though, I have never heard of puberty blockers before.

Ok. I think that's it for me. I usually will ride out a show until it's last breath and then watch the reruns, but if Bill is going to be transphobic I just can't keep him. The answer is so fucking obvious, anyway. Who wants to come out as trans in some conservative shithole where everyone hates trans people? Of course they're coming out more in California! And of course it's now when trans issues have SOME visibility, versus 10 years ago when there was none.

This is no different than saying people started "turning gay" as it became more socially acceptable. Nobody "turned gay". Existing gays just came out of the woodwork once they felt safe(ish), as trans people are now.

Much as I do see some of the concerns people make (not so much him), the part about how it isn't happening in Youngstown, Ohio but is happening in California was dumbfounding. People have these feelings everywhere, and always have. Brandon Teena (I don't even remember what Maher said in that case) was in Nebraska, not San Francisco.

And yes, it's just a breath away from talking about people turning gay to be trendy, which is something I imagine he will be saying very soon, based on all the heeing and hawing his little rainbow flag joke got. Yes, Bill, everyone will be gay in 2050. They will be living in a dust bowl, barely able to breathe the air or have water to drink or food to eat, and also likely living in a theocracy, but they will be gay, gay, gay, gay.

Did Bill seriously suggest that kids are coming out as trans because it’s trendy?!

I think he was implying that young kids might not know the different between wanting to be trans and being gay. IOW, since most young kids are on social media now and know about all things "trendy", they might believe they're trans vs being gay.

Ugh. Had to keep FFing through Carolla, who couldn't stop himself from giving silly answers to serious questions. He's possibly the least funny person in America.

Yeah, there's a reason Kimmell got the late night gig. Carolla has never risen above the level of The Man Show.

FWIW, Youngstown happens to be a very blue spot in a red state, so he didn't even pick the right city for his dumb joke.

The difference is Youngstown is half African American and Spanish (40% and 10%) and being trans or gay isn't exactly something black people want to be open about in the community. California had been open to gay and trans for a while in the white communities anyway.

Also while Youngstown used to be a major democratic stronghold there are plenty of republicans around here now (I live there) and you see the signs supporting them come election time. If you take into account Boardman, Canfield, Austintown areas its 50/50.

Lot of democrats moved down south actually.

I don’t watch this show anymore…I just read about it. Personally, I think Bill just says these outrageously stupid things now to troll and to get people chatting and tweeting up what he said on his show on Friday night. If he had any first hand knowledge of gay and trans kids he would never make a statement like that. Bill “Moron” is desperate…he knows he’s irrelevant and viewers are tuning out.

It's entirely possible, but sadly I think shit like this is what he actually believes. It's part of his "I haven't changed, they've changed" mantra. Guess what? The older you get the more change you see happening in the world. That's how change works. Kids growing up today are doing so in a different world than Bill did. There's no need for crackpot armchair psychology or conspiracy theories.

When Mark Esper said he wouldn't vote for Biden because progressives were moving him to the left I wished Bill would have made him give specifics, but unfortunately, he was already up and out of his chair, and I also think Bill thinks that too. It's utter bullshit.
