I missed the first 10 minutes. Did Teri Polo’s husband acknowledge being a porn addict? The daughter said he was( is that fact now?

Scott Foley saying “I am so dumb” as the mean producer he slept with got out of his car made me laugh.

He did. She was running it on a laptop and the girls saw it. He'd also been paying $2k a month for the live webcam access.

I really enjoyed the scene of Mike, Paula, and Mike's friend dance the role of the White Swan at the bar.  That was pretty inspired. 😄

Show has some interesting twists.  And enough comedy to keep me coming back.  Might get tired of Teri Polo's character though.

Fox’s ‘The Big Leap’ Suffers Big 50% Drop in Week 2 Ratings

by TONY MAGLIO | September 28, 2021 @ 11:38 AM

Fox’s “The Big Leap” just took a big tumble: The show-within-a-show drama/musical sank 50% from last week’s 0.4 rating from the series premiere. Regular readers of these daily Live + Same Day fast-national ratings stories will know that the 0.4 wasn’t any good to begin with — a 0.2 is entering “terrible” territory.

I’m enjoying it, too, so I hope it can stick around and try to gain a following.

The show genuinely makes me LOL. Yet has a tenderness underneath the jaded snark - like SF’s Nick having a soft spot for underdog Gabby.

And the basketball court dance off. ❤️

Scott Foley seems like he is having a blast.  I actually liked his pep talk to Gabby in the midst of the donut-bj tantrum.  I also liked Teri Polo and the wardrobe guy’s talk.

Teri Polo’s husband can fall off a cliff anytime.  Hard to complain that your wife is afraid to age when you are spending 7 hours daily masturbating to young women stripping.

I loved Gabby’s line about not putting her in situations designed to hurt her self esteem and then ask why it’s low.

And I loved his, "Fair point," in response. The combination of writing and line delivery on this show is great. Probably my favorite thing. It's like...a less broad Glee, if the acting (and writing) were more naturalistic. I mean that as a compliment. 🙂 I really liked Glee, especially the first few seasons, although I will even admit to not completely loathing it after that.

He is such an asshole and if he fell off a cliff or otherwise disappeared, it would be no big loss.

The lying and the cheating (YMMV, but where I come from, choosing to turn away from your spouse so you can get your rocks off with a live camera gal = cheating, not to mention the financial infidelity as I can only imagine how much $$$ he's racked up, paying for his nastiness) and the absolute disrespect and disregard for his wife.

I really, really hope they don't show her triumph in the production (I mean, I DO hope she triumphs and gets her groove back) and he comes crawling back and grovels a little and she takes him back trope.

And I loved Julia's conversation with Kevin Daniel's Wayne (whom I adore here):

Wayne: "You okay?"
Julia: "Well, my marriage is falling apart and nobody likes me."
Wayne: "I like you. You're just going through a little bit of a transition. Kind of feels like the whole world is right now. Transitions are hard and unflattering."

And how he learned, after his own breakup, that looking back and clinging to the past is a waste of time and he'd much rather look forward.

This is such a fun show, the bball court dance-off especially. It does feel like Glee for dancing

Both ep 1 and 2 were available on Hulu last week, I wonder if that contributed to the rating drop?

Supposedly streaming doesn’t have that much impact on linear ratings. It will be interesting to hear if streaming did well for the show. If not, it won’t last much longer

They also had 2 episodes On Demand before the show even aired on Fox. I'll DVR the third episode and watch later.

True but I think that early previews is a slight exception. People who are interested in a new show will watch the early previews and skip the live premiere splitting the ratings for those episodes. The true live ratings what be known until the third episode. I tend to think early premieres backfire most of the time because it confuses audiences.

Ratings are tanking. This is not long for this world.

Oh no!  This is my favorite new show.

Not just Hulu, either.  When I was arranging to record the series, I saw that Episode 2 was available and I couldn't resist watching it.  I almost always pile up a few episodes of a new show before watching, but this thing was just so darn charming, I mini-binged.

Imagine casting a woman in a lead role on a network show who isn't a size 00.

They did it with This Is Us but that show is terrible horrible no good very bad lol.

I am wrestling with whether to keep watching this or not. It seems so inevitable that it'll be cancelled. I don't even have faith they'll air a full season. I don't wanna get even more attached and then have it disappear.

I think there are  so many characters in the show that do not advance the story line. They need to cut the cast down and decide if its a drama or a comedy . It is all over the place. Focus on the dance things and keep the family life out of the show

I am glad I decided to give this is a try, this show seems like fun. Its (intentionally) funnier than I expected it to be based on the commercials and the acting is all really good. There are a ton of characters and have already been several plot twists, I am actually not sure where some of the subplots are going, which is nice.

Mike, Paula, and Mike's friends doing swan lake at the bar made me smile. As did Scott Foley muttering "I am so dumb" in his van at the end after spending all episode going on about how dumb people are and how they do things they know wont end well for them. And all of the women in the locker room asking the striper (sex worker) questions about her job and sex in general. "Could you explain chokings?"
