My eye seems to be doing well. 5 more days of drops and then done. Now the issue is the old rx of my glasses. When I had my post op appointment the dr showed me what my vision would be with my new prescription and it was amazingly clear! He said new glasses won't need to be as strong as these are. Just need to get through second surgery and heal and all will be good with the eyes.

Thanks for asking.

I had them pop the lense out of the “new eye” side of my glasses until I had second one done. I made do until then. It was easier than laboring with old prescription in new good eye.

5,345 steps yesterday. Hoping the Aspercreme I ordered from Amazon will relieve the knee pain so I can walk more.

No one ever mentioned about having the lense removed from my glasses, wish they had.

Not being the drug police here, promise. 😁

Did your  doctor recommend you use this?

No, I have been using Anica Cream and occasionally CBD cream which both work about the same...for a couple of hours. I just thought I'd give the Aspercreme a try and see if it worked any better.  Is there some reason I shouldn't try it?

I see my PCP in July hopefully knee will be better by then but if not will go from there.

Not necessarily, but it’s good to know if there could be an undesirable interaction with any meds you may be on. 😁

The only medication I take is Atenolol for high blood pressure. I'm not ingesting the Aspercreme, it is a topical application. I did call my PCP just to be sure though, waiting for his return call. Better safe than sorry...

It’s not too late!  You might be able to do it yourself or any optical shop can do it.

OK this is really weird. Tonight after I put in my after dinner drops I am seeing much better without my glasses watching TV, still a little fuzzy on the computer. With glasses vision is a bit blurry w/out much clearer even w/out right eye done. Wow a big change in a day! Don't know what to think, but I like it!!

Maybe “new eye” is doing most of work?  Glad to know. I was sitting outside today looking at the trees and thinking what a blessing the cataract surgery was.

Yeah maybe, before I think the the other eye was doing most of the work. Begins to make me wonder if I will even need glasses after right eye is done. That would be sweet!

Somewhere around 5th grade I started wearing glasses. I see things through my left eye only. If I close my left eye, I can see through my right. I wore a patch, which I don’t remember, but my sister does. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I don’t know if that makes sense as written. Anyway, after a while, I didn’t wear glasses for many years. I went for an eye exam years ago. The first time I went outside with the new glasses on, I couldn’t believe how green the grass was, and how red stop signs were.

Around the age of 4-5 I wore a patch on my right eye.  My eyes crossed and I might have had a lazy eye.  But had to wear glasses.  I stopped wearing them in HS.  Didn't start wearing them again until the DMV told me I had too.  I really would like to get surgery so I could stop wearing them.

I started wearing glasses in my 30's. I really don't mind wearing them. My Ophthalmologist said I will still need glasses after both surgeries are done but the rx will be much less.

I've worn glasses since my 20's.  The thought of contacts never appealed to me.  Now the only time I don't like wearing them is when they fog up when I have a mask on.

Yard work is going to be my workout today.  It's finally warmish outside, after a cold snap.

I hate wearing glasses and always have.  They are always uncomfortable and at some point rub blisters in the summertime.  I work in a factory in Texas.  It is often 90-100's in the building.  So I sweat a lot and it would help if I didn't have to wear them at least while at home.  But I know surgery might not correct it enough to not need glasses.

Me too!! I'd been near-sighted since the 4th grade! Always wore glasses, then later ALL the contacts - hard, gas permeable, soft, week long soft, then glasses again when the presbyopia kicked in UNTIL cataract surgery.  WHAT A BLESSING!  I still had to wear glasses until the other cataract was ready to be removed but dang!  I don't have to wear glasses AT ALL anymore.

It’s great isn’t it. I still wear glasses because I was a complicated case apparently. My astigmatism is so bad I was almost not even a candidate for the surgery. I got the best lenses he had and he told me he couldn’t give me “perfect” vision but I didn’t care. I’m far sighted and with that astigmatism have been wearing glasses since I was 7. But I only needed readers after and hated the on and off. So I have glasses that are progressive so I don't have to take them on me off. Honestly since I am so used to glasses I feel naked without them. I’m very satisfied. I recognize that this isn’t a good option for everyone and that some people can’t wear progressives. For me it is the best.

Yessss! I have an astigmatism and my Opthalmist said I will still need glasses but that really doesn't bother me at all. I am so happy so far with the improvement already in my vision and am sure it will be even better once the other eye is done. I have no problem with wearing glasses.  Don't get anywhere near me with contacts though Never.Ever. Could wear them!!!

I know a lot of people that have tried them and couldn't get used to them.  Believe it or not, I've been wearing contacts since 1977.  I started with the hard ones and changed over the years with all the advancements.  Now I wear soft progressives.  It's a good thing because I HATE eyeglasses and hate even more how they look on me!  I have tried on zillions of pairs and I'm not alone in not liking them on me.  I have only found a couple here and there that I thought flattered me.

My mother had cataract surgery in her 70s and had the corneal implants but wore glasses for reading and in certain situations.  I have mild astigmatism so I'll probably be the same if I ever need cataract surgery.  I worry about that, though.  I only wear eyeglasses at home.  I was lucky enough to find very lightweight frames at Target that don't give me a headache because of their weight.  I pay the highest price to get the lightest lenses too.  But I still dread the thought of having to wear glasses all the time.  I guess I shouldn't borrow trouble and will cross that bridge when I come to it!

I just had to do a face scan to verify my identity after submitting the front and back of my driver’s license. You have to do it without glasses on. That made it comical. As the directions tell you to scan higher or lower, I had to put my glasses back on to be able to read the directions. I was afraid it wasn’t going to take. It did, and all is well, I’m me. 😂🤣

Me neither not for lack of trying!  I think the astigmatism causes misshaped eyeballs or something like that.  We had a friend an optometrist and he couldn't fit me.

Have you tried within the past few years?  A lot of advancements keep happening and now lenses are 10 times more comfortable than they were even a decade ago and they can correct for more astigmatism than they used to.  I am continually amazed at how they keep improving.  My astigmatism recently got a little worse so now I wear lenses especially for astigmatic eyes.  If not for all the recent improvements I don't think I would be able to wear lenses anymore to be honest.  I'm lucky that they're keeping up with me!

When I was young and vain I wore contact lenses, but 42 yrs ago I moved to a dry climate and couldn't tolerate them.  I got laser PRK surgery in 1995 that corrected my vision and eliminated my astigmatism. In the process they made 3D maps of my eyeballs before & after. The astigmatism looked like a diagonal ridge or thin pie wedge from my pupil to the lower, outer rim of my iris on both eyes.  Afterwards they looked like cue balls.  Now that I am older I need reading glasses to real tiny print or for long periods, but sort of like them because they cover the circles below my eyes. LOL.  But it is nice to not have to wear them most of the time.

No, I have the cataract surgery and progressives and I am 100% satisfied.  During the time I wore the readers I realized I felt naked without my glasses and didn't like the wind in my eyes.  And I like the way I look with glasses better!  I guess we are a mixed bag!!

Good for you, I am jealous.  I have always wanted to look good in glasses.  I marvel at how people find the exact glasses that make them look fantastic.  I try on hundreds of pairs and get nowhere!  I guess I have a rare shaped eye area.  Even the store salespeople agree with me, LOL.

I do have one pair right now that is probably the most flattering I've ever found.  It's not exciting but at least it doesn't make me look bad.

Interestingly I seem to look better in sunglasses, but they are a little different than regular glasses, I've noticed.

Ordered the SalonPas patches yesterday to try them out. Maybe they will help my knee.

When I was still working years ago, I'd get backaches like crazy from all the lifting.  I smelled like Ben-Gay almost every night towards the end.

I hope the patches will help you.  I haven't tried them.  Icing my back after activity helps me pretty well.

If you can find Penetrex cream, I'd give it a try. Our Walmart stocks it.

My mom had bursitis in her hip, and regularly using Penetrex relieved it completely. I use it on my horrible back when the pain gets so high I'm shaking, and it gives me enough relief that I can catch my breath. I've tried all of the creams and ointments and nothing has shut the pain up for a little bit like Penetrex does.

5,404 steps yesterday. Surprised as my knee was really aching most of the day. It was a rainy day so maybe that was why it ached so much?

Thanks for the recommendation @WhatAmIWatching. I put a roll on of the Penetrex on my Amazon shopping list.

5,421 steps yesterday. Knee was better yesterday and today feels even better. But I am going to make a quick grocery run (figure the store will be pretty empty this morning being Mother's Day) so I may wreck my knee all over again...le sigh.

5,929 steps yesterday. Knee was achy and I didn't push it at all so this number was a pleasant surprise. Especially because the grocery shopping really did make knee hurt for a few hours after.
