She is preparing to star in Ladies Behind Bars or The Grand Dame of the Yard.

All joking aside, I think this is the best, most healthy decision she has made to date.

Cynic that I am, I don't think she stepped away voluntarily.

BRAVO - as she usually does - allowed her to do a face saving release in which she says it is a "personal" decision yada yada yada

I think it is because of her mysterious timing of the rehab. Probably a refusal to schedule an interview after getting out of rehab as Teresa did when she got out of "camp".

And of course how could she possibly return to the show without acknowledging the videos - the women would not have missed that opportunity.

Karen still has not acknowledged that she was drunk in a straightforward admission of guilt and remorse.

Watching last night's show the utter hypocrisy of targeting Mia for lying when Karen has been deceptive the entire season. And probably throughout the show based on what some of the women allude to in terms of her drinking and her affairs. Not that I am defending Mia but just that the scene of Karen confronting her on her "lies" was insane when Karen knew what had been taped by the police/

I completely forgot about my inner cynic, you are right in thinking this was not a volunteering situation, how could I have missed that, lol.

Mia is a lying liar who lies, Karen is an avoider, an omiter, and a deflector which is as bad as straight out lying.

You were correct in that stepping away from Potomac is the "healthy" thing to do but since Karen is not "healthy" I don't believe that was her motivation :-)

I am not sure who might have any kind of sway with her since she was delusional enough to go to trial knowing what was contained on the tapes AND spending the entire season telling people that she would be vindicated - the implication being that she was not drunk and maybe had a glass of wine or equivalent and was targeted for driving an expensive sports car.

If she breaks out of prison I would watch the shit out of "Grand Dame on the Lam".

Well she has a little more time before her sentencing, it has been moved to Feb. 26 and it will be held in the judge's chambers. I was planning on going to the sentencing but since it is not public I will not be spilling the tea on Primetimer.

She said she would appeal the guilty verdict. She will get sentenced soon. She could get a prison sentence of two years.

According to Radar Online, Karen was arrested, taken down to the Bethesda police station and she refused a breathalyzer.

Can they force you to take a breathalyzer and if you refuse, how would they know what your blood alcohol count was? Because I can see Karen claiming she was not drunk and refused to take the breathalyzer because she was so emotional over her mother and taking the breathalyzer would be an admission of guilt.

Where I live, if you refuse to take the breathalyzer, they can take you to the hospital and give you a blood test.  It's one or the other.

Pretty soon, if things keep going the way they are with these housewives, Bravo will have enough cast members from across the franchises to make a show called "Real Ex-con Housewives".  🤣

Teresa Guidice, Jen Shah, Shannon Beador, Karen Huger and, if you want to really stretch, possibly Countess Luann (although I don't think she was ever actually convicted of anything).

Did I forget anyone?

Ray supported Karen the night of the DUI, and after. She will be sentenced soon, but she said she would appeal. Normally, people who get sentenced and receive a prison term, and appeal have to remain in prison while the appeal is pending, and until it is resolved. But she can ask for bond which most probably will be granted by the court because although this was a DUI, there were no other cars involved, and there were no injuries. Ray can spend time in Florida.

As for the timeline for filming the show, it is a tricky situation. I doubt she would like to participate, and to face the women now that the videos became public, and she was found guilty, even if she were not in prison.

Luann de Lesseps pleaded guilty, and was convicted of battery (she attacked a cop), trespassing, and disorderly intoxication after her arrest in Palm Beach, Florida on Christmas Eve in 2017. She avoided jail time by accepting a plea deal and completing probation.

Danielle Staub, Nene Leakes (convicted, probation), Kim Richards (convicted, no jail time), Gina Kirtschenheiter (convicted, no jail time), Brandi Glanville and Marisol Patton (both DUIs, pled lesser counts).

I'm sure there are others.
