Interesting that Kim never actually denied credit-card-gate outright and gave no details why.  Hearing Ethan verify Olivia's version was enough for me.    I think the Plath kids are extremely hur

Holy cannoli, Kim’s new guy is a pos.  Someone tell me why Moriah or Micah or Lydia didn’t ask Ethan directly about Kim using a credit card with Ethan’s name on it and the repercussions?  I’m betting that Ethan applied for his own credit card and found out that his credit had been damaged.  I just want to soak a big microfiber towel in hot water and scrub Moriah’s face.  Ethan and Olivia - settle in Minnesota and don’t look back.

Kim is a dummy. She never should have jumped on Ken's dipstick before finalizing her divorce. But she's too narcissistic to see that. Don't get me wrong, Barry is a human PoS too, but I hope he doesn't have to pay her for deserting the family. I mean, she doesn't even seem to have a legit job other than whoring herself and her kids out on TV. Getting a JOB would be a good place to start, yes?

Now, Kim has that amazing dance studio, doncha know?  We've all seen her incredible talent as a dancer.  I am sure her classes are full and she is raking in the cash.

I think the purchase of the houseboat was, in part, a ruse so she can claim to the judge that she and Ken aren't living together and she does have enough room for all the minor kids to be with her.  The 'apartment' at her studio isn't nearly large enough for the kids to have their own space and, when granting custody, that is something the judge looks at carefully, especially if it is disputed.  It wouldn't look good in court if Kim admitted that she moved out of the marital home and almost immediately moved in with her boyfriend and that is where she plans to live with the younger kids.  I wouldn't be surprised if Barry's attorney would be able to prove that Kim was with Ken in the biblical sense long before she moved out.  Barry could have a very legit objection to his kids living with their mother and the guy she cheated with.  Also, if we were able to find out what an awful person Ken is just by doing a quick search, Barry's lawyers can do the same and present evidence that he is not the kind of guy who should be hanging around influencing young kids.

That makes a lot of sense after watching the latest and Ken wondering why she hasn't moved in with him and why she's eager for Barry to get a girlfriend.

I think they waited to file in hopes they could work out all the details as to custody and division of assets.  Many, if not most, divorcing couples work this stuff out via their attorneys and then file once they've agreed on everything so the judge can rubber stamp their decisions.  The length of time before filing as well as the importance of issues like custody and debt indicates to me that they are far apart on these items and their lawyers don't feel further negotiation is worthwhile so they want the court to step in and make the final call.

I presume Kim wants the marital debt to go to Barry and wants full custody with child support and alimony and Barry disagrees.  They may be deeply in debt and Kim wants to 'give' Barry the house in exchange for releasing her from paying off their cars, credit cards, etc.  And, presuming Kim's relationship with Ken predates their separation, Barry may not be feeling all that generous towards Kim these days.

I wonder about this jury trial around the Plaths' divorce.  It sounds like something a lawyer would propose as a way to make the other party take less in a settlement.  Like, it Kim doesn't agree to what they propose, they will drag it through a jury trial and she might get much less.  I am curious as to why Barry would need child support if he has full custody of the three youngest kids.  I thought he had a well-paying job.  Unless he quit that to be come a "TV star".

I do wonder why Barry's lawyer hasn't hired a private detective to follow Kim.  It would be easy to determine if she is really living on that boat with very little effort.  My guess is she's not.  When she has the girls, I wonder what is really going on.  Nothing about that is palatable.  If they are living on that boat, the girls have to use a public bathroom for showering among other things.  If they are actually living with Ken, Kim is making them lie to Barry about what is going on.  That's seedy for other reasons.  And I will admit some personal bias that I won't get into here, but I don't trust Ken.  Kim should be watching those girls around him carefully, but I doubt she is.

It's not Barry, it's the kids are entitled to child support from their non-custodial parent.  When it comes time to decide the amount, Kim's current income and assets will figure into it; but the kids are entitled to a portion of Kim's income to support them no matter how much Barry makes.  

If Barry has hired a detective or used some other means to prove that Kim is living with her boyfriend and not on the boat, it's probably not going to come out until the attorneys share information prior to the hearing.  Just because we haven't heard otherwise, doesn't mean Kim is actually living on that boat.  I am fairly certain she is not and Barry and his lawyer know it and will use that information when the time is right.

Also, Kim has been in trouble with DUI's.  Between that and making their girls live on an unsafe boat that Kim doesn't seem to know how to operate (which makes me think it's Ken's boat and Kim stays there with the girls when she has them, and at Ken's when she doesn't), I guess I don't blame Barry for wanting full custody and a jury trial.  I think Kim would love to take Barry for everything he has in his name and probably assumed that he would cave, since it seems that's what she's used to.  If Barry is fighting back, good for him.  Kim has done enough damage and while Barry is also complicit, it sure seems the kids have a much more difficult relationship with Kim.

It's LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer) and yes I wondered the same thing only because of how Barry and Kim presented themselves to us for so many years. This is precisely what they would have considered the very things they were protecting their kids from by sequestering thrm on that farm away from society. I just don't think they are that open minded and I include Lydia with her parents because I don't think she's open minded at all either.

Sorry to answer so late; I just found this topic. Your term "full custody" should answer the question.  Kim is an equal parent; she's equally responsible for the kids' "maintenance."  Barry doesn't need child support," their kids do. Kim danced  skipped out on their everyday care. How does that earn her a free ride?   Courts usually decide on the basis of responsibility, income, and assets.  Still... even if Barry were a billionaire, Kim isn't absolved of her legal/financial responsibilities--not to mention the moral responsibility of a parent.

Kim seems very lucky: a "TV star" who lives in a palatial houseboat (alone... haha). Gets up when she wants to. Cooks if she wants to. No nagging man or kids wanting her attention and pancakes. No child support because Barry has a job.

It’s like he heard Moriah’s music and decided he could do worse.

I read an article and the comments were saying that he used Moriah for clout.  Hahahaha yeah she’s a real bigwig in the music industry.

Also certainly not to body shame anyone but he looks pregnant in this ensemble.

  • Kim was nice at the beginning.
  • He doesn't talk to Moriah's brothers nor does he want to.

There was a Plath marathon on last night and it was all the Max and Moroniah stuff. It was so clear that Micah and Moriah were very happy to be living with or near Olivia and Ethan and appreciated Olivia arranging fun trips and things for them to do. So Micah can fuck off with bad mouthing Olivia now, when it suits him.
