Primer on the series heading into the second season. As for the item on top of the list? (Manga Spoiler)
-
So . . . anybody watch the series at all? It was okay, but not that memorable. Viktor having his gear implants removed . . . damn. Also in that category: Nonbu (the dude that sounded like Pakkun) plucking out his own eye.

Mets to show deGrom deMoney; $137.5M for five years. For his sake, that had better be guaranteed. Given how the team feels about going to Syracuse, one thing would lead to another, and the locals would sacrifice him to their orange god. God of oranges, I mean.

TDS 3.0: Season Four Talk
Lantern7 replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in The Daily Show With Trevor Noah (2015-2022)
He could have been making the wank motion under his desk. 🤷♂️ Seeing Fox “talent” celebrate was a bit nauseating. And yeah, it kinda did feel like coming down the stairs on Christmas morning to find a dead Santa. I’m thinking the frustration comes from the lack of smoking guns, even if we know damn well the AG might be stashing those under the bed. -
Another question, this one mainly for @aradia22 . . . when you get responses to your profile, do they come with more than one paragraph? The way it works for me, I have to ht SHIFT and ENTER. Otherwise, I send an abrupt message. I'm just curious if I should try to keep things to one paragraph.

Interesting episode. Sadly, the next episode will air in four weeks' time, and I'll probably forget about 90 percent of what I've learned. Yes, Emiko Queen is evil . . . or at least against her half-brother. She is the head of the Ninth Circle. And she blew up the Queen's Gambit, which . . . huh? I get the motivation, but I feel we're getting fed too much too quickly. Also, I kind of want Sara to find out, because Ollie wasn't the only one whose life changed Does Rene have a thing for Emiko? Meh either way. Weird to finally realize Dante is played by Adrian Paul and not hear his Highlander-based accent. To be honest, beheadings might work on Arrow, even if they take their example from the TV series (off-camera, Paul screaming as his victim's "quickening" repeatedly aps him, etc.) Laurel's been killing people. *sigh* Once again: every version of her is a pain in the ass. I'm glad Dinah has decided to declare war against her. Emiko Queen: Fuck it, she's not Ricardo Diaz. Isn't that enough? ETA: And, apparently, I am unable to count weeks properly. Thanks @Morrigan2575!

"I sell my limited talents to the highest bidder. In this case, the highest bid was less than my original pay." Hot Streets ends its second season like anything else: being a little too weird in an effort to stand out. I'm guessing it will prove popular enough for a third season . . . but here in this thread, it's just two people talking.

Quick question about OKC: if you tweak your profile even slightly, does it go to the front for people using the site?

Idea for an episode: Lex Luthor being a magnificent bastard for an entire hour, as we learn how he's been shaping things behind the scenes. This was Lionel Luthor in first few seasons of Smallville magnificent. And, at long last, we get Red Daughter (truth: I don't remember her actual "name"). And that has Melissa doing a cheesy accent, make goofy faces (especially while eating the Oreos Chocos), and playing someone trying her best to play as Kara, while the people around her nod, smile and accept that she is Kara. It's cute, and Melissa is great at playing that. Pity that the actual Kara got wrecked by Lex. BTW, did they go to Metropolis for that scene? Or is there a Daily Planet building in National City? Great visual . . . and Lex gets his battle suit that doesn't look like an Iron Man knock off. Seriously: "I have an idea, but you're not going to like it." "Way ahead of you, Ms. Tessmacher. I'm going to give myself cancer!!" Also, Otis telling Mikhail to play dead around any bald men he might see. Fun shit.

Cosplay pictures from Saturday at C2E2 in Chicago. I'm posting that for the epic Kingpin cosplay seen here and here. Also, here's a Liv.

She's an older person and a woman. Wouldn't it be worth it to have her win just to annoy Probst? Especially if she beats his beloved alpha males? Question: is anyone else not making connections to faces and names? I figure it's because we've only been exposed to a small amount of people, as well as the dopes on Extinction Island.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations - General Discussion
Lantern7 replied to Sandman87's topic in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations
Flipped around tonight. Saw bits of tonight’s episode. Turns out Karin handled the umbilical cord, so Sakura is probably is Sarada’s mother. Sarada having monster strength seals the deal. Also, it turns out the guy who comforted a sick Chocho . . . was Choji. But she wasn’t being totally dramatic, because Choji had lost a lot of weight at that time, and he different from his plumper self. Y’know, the whole food pill/butterfly thing he did in the Sasuke Rescue arc. -
*sigh* No new message for me. Can two people have an official "meetcute" if it's over several years on an online forum?

Batman: The Animated Series - General Discussion
Lantern7 replied to GHScorpiosRule's topic in Batman: The Animated Series
I got this in my e-mail. Just curious if anyone else here was contemplating going. ETA: I meant that I already got my admission, mostly because I go to shows in my general vicinity. I've gotten an autograph from Kevin, as well as a pic with him, but I'm usually adverse to that unless I like the person. -
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations - General Discussion
Lantern7 replied to Sandman87's topic in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations
"Sarada . . . Sakura Haruno is NOT your mother!!!!!!" Cue audience "wiling out" and Sarada sobbing, as pips (for lack of a better terms) pop up in her developing Sharingan. Also, Orochimaru is alive, and Naruto and Sasuke are not trying to kill him Poor Sarada. I'm guessing that Sasuke loves Sakura . . . or at least has feelings beyond "meh." Either Sakura is/was infertile, or Karin died as she gave birth to Sarada, her final act of loyalty for her eternal crush. Maybe both. Anyway, Shin Uchiha is one of Orochimaru's old "friends," so the gang is going to play him a visit and rescue Sakura. Chocho is going with them because why not at this point? She's not that self-centered . . . she did offer potato chips to Sasuke and Sarada to try and break the tension -
Short story: Neil Gaiman wrote a miniseries with Marvel characters in the year 1602. It was Neil's first work with Marvel, and I felt let down in general by it.

I like Guy. He's over-the-top, but it's fun to watch. Also, he looked like Lee when he was a kid, albeit with a different voice (I'm thinking Todd Haberkorn; I'm not a total geek, but he narrates anime lists on WatchMojo). Now I'm wondering if he got the green jumpsuit from his sensei. Or maybe he and/or Lee buy in bulk, and that's why we see them on other characters (Naruto in a filler episode, Denki in Boruto). Also, I'm hoping that's a sign that we'll be getting to the main plot soon. Some of the filler was cute, and the idea of a seasick and sleep-deprived Guy inadvertently sending an SOS turtle back to the village is pretty funny . . . but I'm ready to move on. Oh, and DAMN! Those credits are fun.

Only two more episodes. Dang, The months have gone pretty fast. I mean, I don't think any other series could have a scene where a woman in the throes of childbirth is rushed on a wheelchair, firing at people trying to murder her. I mean, maybe Legends of Tomorrow, but their crazy is different. I know, on some levels, this series has been so stupid . . . but then you have moments where Oswald realizes that he pointed a gun at Barbara's baby, tries to write it off as merely being threatening, then yelling, "Okay, fine! I'M SORRY!!!!" Shit, Oswald and Ed in general. They ain't the World's Finest, but they are Gotham's Craziest. And Nyssa coming in as perhaps the Final Boss of the series. And fuck, she ain't as nice s Arrowverse Nyssa, but she is hardcore . . . forcing Bruce to watch as Bane kicks the everloving fuck out of Jim. Also, Bane basically wrecks Alfred, and withstands a nifty Oswald/Ed trap. Eduardo is an interesting variation of the established Banes . . . not a psychotic luchedor, not Latin Dr Evil. Just someone really strong and driven hopped up on Hugo Strange's crap. I'm really hoping Leslie and Barbara live. I think they could make things work with Jim and the baby. It would be a weird set-up, but they'd be living in Gotham City. It's the place where insanity comes true. Now, the question is whether there would be a Gotham. #AgreeToDisagree

Great Honest Trailer. The guy obviously liked it. Seriously, how weird is it that Aquaman would be at the forefront of DC Comics' recent movies? And that Batman and Superman have been the albatrosses?

Looks like the British Invasion is here to stay . . . which sucks, given how most of them are wankers. Well, except for Bear. He's basically British Puck. I heard he got $100K from BMP just for showing up . . . and he rewards them with his rudeness towards others and crap clothing. Seriously, he owes Puck money for copying him. Come to think of it, so does Paulie with Kenny. Think about it . . . New Jersey, athletic, zero humility. I'm not going to squint at the possible choices Jenna could have made. If she wants to throw Amanda under the bus, more power to her. I think the biggest problem would've been if she and Josh won. Then Jenna & Gus would've had pressure on them in the next mission. But nope, they get beat, and they go into the night, with Amanda handing tissue after tissue to a sobbing Josh. If the British Invasion can't be foiled, I'm good with no Big Brother people in the game. Another nicely-designed mission. Of course Bear has to taunt people who are more or less walking blind while suspended in the air. He's Bear, which means he's a fucking asshole. I know it's been done before, but he didn't add anything remotely original to his yelling. I want to cut her some slack. On American Ninja Warrior, she's second-tier among the female competitors at best. Here, she could win $500K, and maybe even walk away with a cool $1 million. On ANW, only two people had achieved "Total Victory," and only one won the million bucks because the other guy was slower. She's a small fish in a big pond dumped into a much smaller pond. But yeah, I'm concerned that Paulie -- if not the show itself -- is rubbng off on her. My biggest fear is that she comes back to ANW as "Patient Zero," and that series becomes unwatchable in a few years' time.

Had to split the viewing in order to watch The Challenge "live." Probably not the best decision. Plus side: Wendy got voted out, and I am amazed she avoided that for as long as she did. And the Saddest Tribe Ever actually won a Challenge. Not quite "Miracle on Ice," but it should be up there. Biggest loser has to be Aubrey. She's the only original Kama (yeah, I'm using Wikipedia) voted off, and she got blindsided with an advantage and a hidden idol. Oh, and she's played the game twice. That has to be embarrassing. Then Wendy gets voted off, and she had five votes heading into that Tribal Council. I will say that freeing the chickens was the best thing she could have done. They interfere with confessionals. Those are some snarky birds. I think Dan DeSilva can keep the "Wardog" nickname, because he throws about as well as a dog can. Their excuse for failing would be a lack of opposable thumbs. If it turns out he's somehow related to Crystal Cox, I wouldn't be that shocked. I am amazed that he's still in the game. Stubborn and dumb ass. At least Extinction Island is interesting, in the sense that no one has tapped out yet, and those people are getting on each other's last nerve with each new addition. And all but Aubrey started with Manu, so you know the residents always have hard feelings towards the incoming newbie.

I dunno if this will whet your appetite, but what the hell . . . Death Battle pits Black Widow against Widowmaker from Overwatch. And the next battle will include another Endgame heavy.

Does MLB make that much more money to justify regular season games in Japan, as opposed to exhibitions? Also, I think there's going to be a game in England this year as well.
-
This gives me a logic headache. Spring Training is still going on, but two teams playing in Japan counts in the actual standings. Also, this is the first day of spring, so technically, they've been "winter training."

What!?! "Took a lot of cranial trauma on the battlefield, solider?" Wow. I haven't been actively searching. I should step it back up.
