But I figured the untimely death of Kobe Bryant would have altered that, even though he had — IIRC — never been on SNL. Was Eli the last NFLer to host before JJ Watts tonight? And didn’t we get a “Shy Randy” Digital Short with that ep?

No, I thought the "Stand" looked like a feminine version of Gold Experience from Golden Wind. ETA: I half-watched tonight's episode. Gotta love when a turtle get sacrificed and drained of blood to the delight of a packed arena. Uggggghh. Poor thing.

I was poking around my cable a few days ago, seeing Animal Planet going full-on with stuff tying in to Puppy Bowl XVI. Apparently, there will be two new episodes of Too Cute airing back-to-back at 6 a.m. Yeah, I don't know. Here are the descriptions: Is this the first time a featured puppy from a past season has become a mother on the show? All I really remember about Magic was that she was a pain in the butt back then. I'll try and find the other airtimes when I get home. I meant to post back when Animal Planet was airing repeats at 7 a.m. on weekdays, but now they got My Cat From Hell in there. I never watched the full episodes, but it was cute seeing familiar bits play out, as well as a few I had never seen before.

Wait, so we might see Stephen Amell again? My idea: reveal that the only reason Oliver became Spectre was to help birth a new reality. He would then give up the role and spend eternity with Felicity. In the aftermath, there would have to be a new vessel . . . that concept and resulting chaos was the basis for a pre-Infinite Crisis tie-in, where Eclipso (Jean Loring, Ray Palmer’s ex-wife; don’t ask) seduced the Spectre and had the Spirit of Vengeance run roughshod on the DCU.

I got an e-mail from the Mets about their Hall of Fame induction ceremony on May 17: Jon Matlack, Ron Darling and Edgardo Alfonzo. Also, Al Jackson will be posthumously honored with the Mets Hall of Fame Achievement Award.
