  1. Huge ovation for Daniel. Of course, it's a dog show, so most of the crowd will be happy with the winner. Not like a judge has ever gotten booed for choosing Best in Show.
  2. I think he can taste the victory steak. Goodness, he is a handsome dog.

One, first round is best-of-three. Two (IIRC), the higher seeds would host all 2-3 games. So that could be knocked out inside of a working week.

Each league will have seven teams in the postseason, for a total of 14 Team with best record in league gets a bye in the first round The other division champions get to choose which of seeds 5-7 they get to play in best-of-3 series. Fourth-best team is stuck with what’s left. Winners face off in second round with the “bye” teams. Seeds would not be readjusted I heard one play rip the commissioner via tweet. One argument for the new format would be to give hope to more teams with modest budgets. For instance, the Padres are up-and-coming, but they could never outspend the Dodgers.
  5. Just “Blood vs. Water.” I’ll have to check, but I think his percentage of days in the game to total days is higher that Rob among the four-timers. Let me check the Past Seasons thread . . . . . . and I did not remember correctly. Here’s the Excel I made:

Any thoughts on the proposed expanded playoffs?
  7. The show wraps up tonight. I think they know @bosawks’ anguish about Chessies getting denied, so they’ll be doing Sporting Group first. 😜😜😜
  8. New sketch . . . this time of the (current) Master by Shea Zubair.
  9. Honestly, I don't see Ava as a drag, including with Sara. Basically, she's a clone that was a major player in a time travel agency (funded by the U.S. government, which I still don't get), and now that has been taken from her as well. Basically, she's about as low as she has even gotten . . . and isn't that the case for most of the team? Since the other Legends have their own dramas, I reckon the only person who could peg Ava . . . is Mick. Anyone else think of Family Guy seeing Ava cover "Poison"? "Wait, is this why you bring sheet music everywhere you go?" "Yeah! You wouldn't believe how many BBD fan sites I had to visit to get those!" Also, when Cliff Devoe transferred his mind into two female bodies on The Flash, I kept wanting him/her to don a form-fitting dress and dance to "Poison." Needless to say, I'm weird. I'm still willing to peddle "Zardashian." I also think we should delve deeper into Nate's head. In my opinion, growing up with hemophilia impeded his dreams of forensic history, and now that he's "cured" (with the ability to turn into steel as a bonus), he's basically diving into being the adventurer he always wanted to be. Sadly, he comes off as a dope most of the time. Semi-related follow-up: did anyone think the same about Ray? I mean, he became a widow, eventually became Oliver Queen's rival for Felicity's heart, he lived with Kendra for a year and had feeling for her (let me know if I'm incorrect; I ain't watching that season again), and now he's involved (more or less) with Nora, a person whose soul was banged up to hell before being forced to become a fairy godmother. You ever think people would get wise to the Legends because they act too much like people from that time in the movies? Or am I overthinking it? Fun to see John do an American accent again . . . less gross than getting blood from Bugsy, wiping it under his eyes, then licking it.
  10. Looks like we have a happy ending. Was Tobias left behind? Well, then it's a happier ending. Like @Primal Slayer said, most of the characters had their individual moments with their abilities. Lynn got to dupe her captors ("Oh, shit! It's Wayne Brady, son!!!") and escape. And Jefferson got to smack fools around. Oh, and Dr. Jace almost got killed. I mean, she seems to be making an honest effort to look human, but it's like she's wearing a shredded human face over her own intact face. It's still oddly fun to watch, though.
  11. Interesting episode. The (human) companions have to face issues and their fears in their lives as they travel with the Doctor. The Doctor has to deal with two assholes with the power of gods. And she looks to distract her "fam" from their problems with another adventure. Back when I got into Doctor Who, I sought out old stories from the library. I vaguely remember Enlightenment, and I don't remember the Eternals. That might be due to Marvel doing a movie based on beings with that name. Or maybe I looked at Zellin and Rakaya and figured we were looking at new (unfeathered) versions of the Black and White Guardians. Also: "boat race," "new stick of celery," "poor Turlough gazing at Black Guardian's cube like it had porn playing on it." I didn't have problems with it the way some fans might. Maybe it's a sign that I'm not hardcore when my "COME ON!" moment is a cuffed Doctor managing to get her Sonic Screwdriver into her hand. Imaginary monsters, planets seeming not to collide with each other, detour to 14th Century Syria . . . and we learn that Yaz had issues before S11 (or it became more obvious), Graham is still having issues dealing with Grace's death and his own remission (and I REALLY don't want the Doctor to cure him), and Ryan sees the consequences of his travels, as his friend slides into mental health issues that Zellin didn't create (but did exacerbate). Tibo joining a support group made for a good ending, though . . . it didn't feel like Chibnall was pawning him away from Ryan.
  12. Eighty Group wins. I mean, I don’t want to be breedist, but the established standard look is . . . ugh. I’m sure Shiba is a nice dog . . . but ugh. Yeah, but what about the nice view of Poodle butthole? 🤢🤢🤢
  13. Poodle wins Best Non-Sporting. Yaaaaaaaaaaaay. 🙄🙄🙄🙄 Thor the mushy Bulldog placed third. Robbed, I tell you. Robbed. Wow, the Chow in fourth is also “Thor.”
  14. I know Rosie can be filed under “A Bit Much,” but at least she covered everyone. There’s a sizable area between “raging fangirl” and “guy who would rather hit the open bar immediately.” If CBS thought about network synergy, they’d . . . fuck it, they’d probably bring in Julie Chen, because Survivor is closer to Big Brother these days.
  15. Heads up: Fox Sports 1 will start coverage at 7 p.m., with the competition commencing at 7:30. Sadly, I found out two Pugs that I follow didn’t make the trip because their entries weren’t received. It’s a shame, especially since I’ve seen pictures of Natty racking up win after win.

    Joker (2019)

In case you missed it: Joaquin Phoenix and Hildur Guðnadóttir scored Oscars tonight. Now we can debate as to which is the bigger debate: does the Academy intend on nominating one comic-based/adjacent movie per year so they look like they're "with it*"? Or did Joaquin make for a better Joker than Heath Ledger? *Keeping in mind that recent Best Pictures include the last part of the LOTR trilogy, a fishman and a mute girl, and a movie that could have been pitched as "Hey, what if Michael Keaton never escaped the shadow of Batman?"
  17. Good episode. I'm guessing Pete will go into cold storage until John Mulaney needs him for his next epic sketch in three weeks. Or Dragon Ball Z, for that matter. The president did go Super Saiyan, this week, didn't he? I'm thinking Alec got a new cell phone so that he couldn't be asked to swing by. I think Robot Chicken did it better.
  18. Here’s how I figure the women are ranked in terms of how much the producers will spotlight them: Parvati, Amber, Sandra . . . then the other seven in any order. It would’ve been eight, but Sandra has two wins.
  19. Did you get to see Bobby Jon lose his mind? That was always fun. I wonder if he ever got invited back. I think once you see Shii Ann get voted off, it’s safe to dump it. Is that the one where she wound up creating the Detox Poncho? Good times. Judging by the title, I’m getting it’s the one where Jerry snitches out a shoplifting Uncle Leo. “SWARM! SWARM!”

    Joker (2019)

Honest Trailers covered Men in Black International on Tuesday. It didn’t occur to me they’d do an Oscars roundup a few days later. Obviously, Joker is covered. Heh. “White people dancing.”
  21. Caught the episode last night. I don’t have much time to fully comment . . . but is anyone else distressed that social media obsession is still a “thing” in 2044? Also, my idea for an alternate episode title: “Enter the Zardashian.”

  24. Erik has a limited-edition print on sale with all S40 players. I figured this was a more appropriate place to link than the Media thread. From what I understand, they had an agreement where the winner of the final IC would take Katie to Day 39 and get the all-but-guaranteed win. I also heard that Ian was ill, but I can’t remember with what.
  25. I’ve heard about other elements, and I don’t wish to spoil for anyone that wants to be surprised. Simply put: a surplus of idols might be the least of our annoyances.
