“Survivor: No Coronavirus drama this season!” ETA: Geez . . . I can’t joke about Yul bringing the second-hand sadness.

Joe: I heard you were hard on Barry today. Wally: He destroyed the Speed Force! I don't get the physics, but you know what I would be without my powers? Some dork that spouts Zen at parties and gets his ass kicked by alpha dudes that want to keep their girls. Joe: Kid, this is Barry. You think he doesn't feel bad enough? Wally: I don't know. Maybe he doesn't grasp the enormity of his actions. (CUT TO: Barry in the Gideon Room, in the fetal position, softly sobbing to himself as Siri fills his head with thoughts of a "normal" life) I like Wally, and I can appreciate his outlook . . . but I think this was the death knell for any hope that Max Mercury could be worked into the series. In the comics, he was the original "Zen Master of Speed." He also communed with the Speed Force . . . and now Wally has/had a connection that went beyond "Barry's Mom." But it looks like the gang at STAR Labs will be making their own Speed Force, so . . . yeah. Problem solved. By the way, what did Wally go in the cold intro? I get that Turtle Too was aging the helicopter, and Wally . . . disassembled it as it was falling? Neat trick, great visuals. Looks like. And I'm thinking Siri fucked up, because that's one more friend for Iris and Eva to help break free. Not getting the "possession" of Nash. It can't be biological because Eobard only posed as Harrison Wells.

A little too farcical for my tastes. I mean, it was funny, and we got puppets one more time without being gratuitous, and Damien actually shows growth. I'm just thinking Nora's wrists were sore from spinning all of those plates. Oh, and Mick's a dad! Only a Legend could meet an old love at a high school reunion in the past, get her pregnant, and then meet the smart-ass daughter one month later (his time, give or take). Mind erasing was probably for the best, at least in the short term. And it was a good subplot to stick the Zardashian. Thinking about it, I don't think LoT has ever got full Three's Company with the falsehoods. Since this is LoT, we wind up going full-on PBS thank to Pippa. Nice bit of extra: Nate facepalming as he and the others got zapped into Mr. Parker's Cul-de-Sac. The rest was predictably unpredicatable: Gary got turned into a train (awesome given that he almost got run over by one), Sara and Ava's tension got cleared up without incident after getting turned into puppets (lingering question: what was Sara going to do back in Star City? Bodyguard Mayor Wild Dog?), we got to see the Safe Space Sombrero (that had to have come from Ray), and Damien got to be a proud papa before sending himself back to hell. And he has a tender moment with Sara. You think he would have murdered Laurel if he knew another one would pop up to replace her? Probably. Cute . . . Ava made Gary clean up the bits of Beebo. Very in-character.

I just would like some movement as to when we would see the season that has already been filmed. Between any season of Big Brother and the utter disasters that were Survivor: Edge of Extinction and Survivor: Island of the Idols, it can't possibly be as bad as those.

S03.E16: The Book of War: Chapter Three: Liberation
Lantern7 replied to Trini's topic in Black Lightning
Well, this counts as a happy ending, yes? I mean, Henderson got killed, Odell lived (albeit with his spleen shot . . . thanks, Khalil!), Grace is in a coma, and Tobias is chilling in Markovia. My guess? He's networking with the various Big Bads of Earth-Prime, getting ready for whatever crossover comes next. I'm thinking two series per story, with Black Lightning and Flash hooking up. Oh, and Gravedigger survived the nuke. Of course he did. I will say that he does make for an intriguing nemesis in general; even with all the shit he's pulled, I hesitate to use the term "villain" because he got screwed so hard by the United States Government. Of course he'd hook up with the Not Ready For Bratva Players. The fact that he's related to Jefferson and his daughters doesn't feel "extra" at all. And Wayne Brady did give us one vital trope: when a character loses their powers and doesn't know it, flailing away with their hands backed by zero special effects. RIP Dr. Helga Jace. I think we're gonna miss her lack of morality. I propose that "I SAVED FOURTEEN PEOPLE, BITCH!!" be engraved on her tombstone. Thinking about it, I'm surprised none of the Freeland Resistance threw their guns at Gravedigger after he repelled all of their gunfire. -
. . . and here's the battle itself.

“Fun” look at the world of sheriffs. I don’t think I was fully aware that’s usually an elected position. That makes me think so much less of the people living in the world of Reno 911! If your default is Jim Dangle? That’s on you. Also: too much emphasis on the fucking of horses, John pulls his Zazu card to create Disney canon, and Rob Corddry gets to dick around as an unopposed sheriff. Oh, and the current administration doesn’t seem to care about helping people. No huge surprise there. Horrific woman. Like she’s applying for a spot to hang with the president, as opposed to Veep Mayo.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - General Discussion
Lantern7 replied to Meredith Quill's topic in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
I'll have to rewatch. Thinking about it, an anime with insane plots can get away with discrepancies. "I think Abacchio referred to Narancia as 'Fugo'." "Uh huh. There's Bucciarati creating an outhouse for Trish by laying a zipper on the ground, while Giant Giorno looks on overhead." You have to like Giorno's thinking. "If we rip off a car, we'll be spotted. BOOM. Gold Experience just turned all of the cars into frogs, and it'll take weeks to find them all." Cut to Narancia and Mista nodding, accepting the insanity of the plan without question. -
I was also halfway paying attention. From what I can remember, the main theme was learning to deal with loss. Also: Lex runs around wearing a "I SWEAR, I WOULD NEVER BETRAY LEVIATHAN" t-shirt, and Alex gets the poor Martian's version of a Green Lantern power ring.

Great to see that with an episode centering on a face slasher, Alice is still the most unnerving thing there. And that was before she was playing with her "mask" at the end. No. Unless it's Felicity screwing with Christopher Chance's Ollie mask . . . no. Is anyone getting annoying by Vesper? I get that she has a role to fill as a chorus of sorts, but listening to her quip about someone who got disfigured is a bit much, even for Gotham City.* This was Mary this week: "Sounds like you got a lot on your plate, Kate. If you need me, you know where to find me. And I mean if you really, really, REALLY need me. For anything. Any-darn-thing you can think of, I can be very invaluable to you. Seriously!" Nice that his dad labeled the tank. Thanks, World's Worst Dad!

S45.E15: Daniel Craig/The Weeknd
Lantern7 replied to Princess Sparkle's topic in Saturday Night Live
Were you gagging worse than with two dudes (one of them the current James Bond) doing some mid-Nineties puking through "hidden" tubes? "Nadine Sherman: Her Brain Was Bad" I forgot about that. I only really remember it on account on how The Daily Show reacted to ol' Zell back in 2004 (as well as Stephen Colbert challenging Jon Stewart). Liz Warren FTW. Here were my thoughts: "Wait, Kate does Elizabe- HOLY SHIT, IT'S ACTUALLY HER!!!" Oh, Debbie. Still talking up Feline AIDS at inappropriate times. The bit wit mentioning the president and the individual music notes was inspired. With all due respect to Daniel, what episode isn't a letdown after John Mulaney goes all-out the prior week? -
Funny115: Spotlight on Katie Collins and her comically oversized glasses. Bonus: shots of her in Tina-related content from The Australian Outback.

Season Three and Beyond: FFwSB
Lantern7 replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Full Frontal With Samantha Bee
Didn't the GOP clamp down when The Colbert Report was doing their "Better Know a District" series with Congressmen? Honestly surprised Sam wasn't covered in the blood of those who admitted to not voting for Elizabeth Warren. -
Reality Blurred: Andy liked this episode. Only major quibble from me is his calling the S22 cast “doves” that gave Rob his win. That ain’t the animal I’d use for comparison purposes. Also: Why Sandra got to sit out in consecutive challenges. ETA: Erik’s contribution: Here’s the “five-year-old nephew” variant.

Well, we get a decent ending with Tyson’s dumb ass voted out. I still can’t believe he actually won a season. I mean, he’s smarter than JT, but who isn’t? I’m not saying EoE needs to stay, but at least we have more action, as well as finding out at least one tribe can see them. Having players go up the mountain twenty times does seem a bit sadistic. On the other hand, maybe the producers really didn’t want Natalie to be the only one scoring tokens. Anyway, I think everyone broke down afterward, and Ethan needed medical attention. That was painful, especially he comes off as a nice guy not deserving of the pain. Is there a list on what stuff could be bought with fire tokens? Natalie’s gone four-for-Four, but that’s doesn’t seem like enough. Massive mission breakdown from Dekal. Probst must have changed his shorts immediately after Sele won. I guess that’s why a mercy rule doesn’t exist. I was thinking that should be a thing watching Pavarti and Adam suck so loud trying to get the rings, but Dekal came back. Nick = Adam? They both seem socially hapless; their best case scenarios being making it to the end as goats. I hope somebody from the show clarifies how Sandra gets to sit out so often. I like her, and it hurts to hear grumbling about it. @PaperTree . . . For years, I’ve been saying that a hidden idol should be fitted into the tribal idol. I didn’t think tokens could be under the googly eyes. That’s gotta be why the idol looks so dumb . . . like the local artists phoned in the effort.

She’ll have him on a leash in two days’ time.🤞🤞

Commercial with kazoos? Okay, then. Oh, Facebook. That makes sense. I don’t like the guy, but I don’t think he’s that dumb.

Nick = Adam?
