Train of thought: Today is the anniversary of Jackie Robinson’s first game, breaking baseball’s color barrier On April 15, teams commemorate the anniversary by giving every player the uniform number 42 (which was retired throughout the majors in 1997) I realize that it was ten years ago when I came to Chicago for a comic book convention, and I immediately set off to Wrigley Field Afterward, I met a lady who posted on the TWoP forums. I had dinner with her family and watched Survivor And that’s where I remember tonight is the ten-year anniversary of us fans watching JT give Russell Hantz an immunity idol. With a long letter attached to it. I don’t think anyone left in S40 will do anything remotely stupid like JT in tonight’s episode . . . but, hey, you never know.

Also, MLB Network is airing games that took place on April 15. And I think that was the date of the last time I went to Wrigley Field, back in 2010.

Knick-knack-paddy-whack, CBS throws us fans a bone. TAR returns on May 20. Granted, that bit in this particular article is a side note in regard to the “virtual” reunion for Survivor, but you take what you can get.

Looks like I was wrong about my prediction. John goes for a societal problem visible to us, but he still manages to dole out shame to the appropriate parties. It's a pity so few of them are capable of feeling that emotion. On the bright side, John got his rat erotica!* One day, we need to find out the process of how John gets to play with that sweet HBO money. And he got some extra stuff . . . like himself as a sexy humanoid rat! And two koalas banging with a reference to his chlamydia ward! *"Eratica"?

What can possibly go wrong?” Cut to Gentle Criminal burning himself with tea. Compared to guys like Stain, he would be a “best case” complication. Bakugo is still Angry Bomb Boy, but I reckon he’s being more reasonable . . . even if he wants the 1A band to murder the audience. Is it wrong that I think it would be an appropriate destiny for him? ETA Best Imagine Spot: Bakugo and Todoroki in full Saturday Night Fever mode. That was beautiful.

I got Season 11 on DVD from the library, but I haven’t gotten to it yet. Bright side: I don’t know when I’ll have to bring it back. Right now, the only exposure to the new stuff would be through the MST3K comic Dark Horse put out a while back. I know the guy who did the art on the “host” segments. He used to slip in references to the show in at least one of the comics he worked on. If you’re the type that likes seeing stuff on a TV, IFC has been airing episodes late Friday/early Saturday. Yesterday, they aired the two Fugitive Alien “movies.” And now, I can’t get “ 🎶He trrrrrrrried to kill me with a forklift!🎵 “ out of my head.

Not much going on. Toonami is still running Kai (with a marathon tonight) and Team Four Star won’t be abridging the Buu saga (probably for the best). I did find this bit of stop-motion goodness merging DBZ with the latest hot meme.

So there will be a new episode tomorrow? Given that it'll be Easter, I'm thinking the topic will center on religion. Maybe how a lot of churches aren't discouraging services that could lead to sickness or worse? And John will say something like, "Look, just because Jesus came back from the dead doesn't mean He wants several hundred thousand people to take His place."

I wouldn't want this every week, mostly because it seems like there's more energy needed with a fraction of the resources. Maybe once a month until we get close to "normal"? Hey, the tech-impaired secretaries came back! Very nice stuff with Zoom in place of PowerPoint. Middle-Aged Mutant Ninja Turtles? Nicely done. Robot Chicken did something similar ages ago [warning: it's pretty dark], but seeing the guys as regular schlub fortysomethings was a neat concept. And Leonardo would up with April! I'm thinking a lot of "shipposters" are happy right now. Goes without saying that Tom Hanks looking well should cheer us all up. I know this sounds really stupid in the larger picture, but I think him and Rita getting sick was a major "Oh, fuck, this shit is gonna be serious!" moment for this nation. I liked KMcK as stripped-down RBG. I'm guessing Kate doesn't have a storage closet full of costumes and bodysuits. And is that the cat from Leslie Jones' UWS video? It's John Mulaney. Of course it was awesome.

Here's what popped up as Memories in my Facebook from two years ago: I don't remember the name. He did impact me again the same night. There were a few other thoughts, but I reckon this was the best one:

I do not believe that to be a good parallel. Suppose TAR2 had filming weeks earlier, and that season was halfway done before 9/11. Sure, attitudes towards reality TV from networks are different now, but CBS would have pulled the plug, and no one would have blamed them. There can be no timetable as to when things would be “safe.” If the summer mainstay of CBS (Big Brother) and the hot rookie series (Love Island) might be canceled for 2020, there the future of TAR doesn’t look good. I know that I always whine about how the sky is falling for us fans, and I know that must irritate the hell out of anyone reading my posts. In retrospect, I was too quick to pronounce TAR to be dying. I hope I’m wrong again. On a lighter* note: Jen from TAR29 crashed and burned on The Challenge: Total Madness. I didn’t really have an opinion of her, but I felt bad for her, and I was willing to hunt down any veteran who would talk smack about TAR. In regard to the prior paragraph: let’s hope there comes a day where I merely bellyache about veteran Challengers possibly popping up on TAR. Most of those folks aren’t stable . . . and even if we’d get Jordan & Tori (a showmance that looks to be the real thing), Jordan is cocky enough to turn off viewers. I mean, better him than “Johnny Bananas” and the assorted misfits (including Big Brother alumni; In particular, Josh is such a pain), but the hate potential would be high. *”Lighter” = “something that doesn’t involve a damn plague we’re all living through”

Two questions for @aradia22: does it matter to you at which time someone responds to your profile?* And have you seen profiles reflecting the current pandemic? I don't think I've seen one of those yet, though I'm willing to bet a lot of people are taking a break from online dating *Morning, Afternoon, Night, Post-Midnight . . . that sort of thing. 🙂
