So if this is a groom's cake, and said groom never really had dietary restrictions, did the cake really need to be gluten and sugar free? Alternatively, if the groom's cake is gluten/sugar free, will the wedding cake have gluten and sugar for those without dietary restrictions? Listen, I don't proclaim to be a great baker. But I was yelling at my TV when Kendra and Jenni (?) threw out the lumpy butter and eggs. You can work with that! That's what the mixer is for. Jessa did make me laugh with the whole recipe was from another country thing. Even though at the beginning she said she needed x grams of butter, I didn't catch on. I felt bad for Lauren when she started talking about seeing other people with babies after having her miscarriage. Let's face it, she's around a lot of babies. That would be very upsetting, especially since her main purpose in that cult religion is to produce as many babies as possible. I hope that she is getting some counseling. She was so devastated.

What first came to mind was Me-Chelle squealing that the spices were organic. Then I realized that you were talking about all the girls squealing about the pregnancy...which for them is really all they are allowed to accomplish in life. And Josiah, no one knew what the shirt said because no one could read the damn font. And Lauren, it’s ok to say you bought something from Etsy. Not everything has to come from Good Will.

Michaela is really the worst detective ever. She hand fed Griffin all the info he needed and then she was shocked he would use it for evil. How long have they let you work with criminals, Michaela? Speaking of Michaela, the actress’ monotone delivery is just awful. There was a moment where she broke monotone and you could hear some emotion in her voice - this stood out to me because it rarely happens! In fact, I don’t even know what was happening in the scene because I just remember thinking “Michaela is really getting emotional!” One of the big problems with the writing of this show is they can’t seem to develop conflict. Before the Stone family started working together, Ben’s main conflict was that he couldn’t tell his family because he had to protect them. It just felt so lame. Now Jared has a conflict with Zeke because ...well why, exactly? Because Zeke talks to Michaela and that makes Jared jealous? Why, writers? Why does that happen? I could write a better conflict when I was in middle school, and I suck at writing! Someone upthread mentioned that we won’t find out what happened to the plane until the finale in 5 years. I doubt this show makes it that far. It’s a shame because it has a great concept but they need better writers to develop this story.

I agree. I was glad that Andy tried to call Kate out for some of her behavior but she was able to justify it and Captain Lee backed her up.

I just started watching this show and my first reaction is that Kate is a mean girl. She’s. Ice to your face but then has something to say behind your back. While Caroline was annoying, I thought it was very immature for Kaye and Josiah to blast music to get Caroline out. Kate, I’m sure, did not see anything wrong with it.

I felt the same about Mandy. I did think it was interesting that her ancestor was an indentured servant that was sent to Australia. And did Mandy really not know what an indentured servant was? That’s like 8th grade social studies. Then again, she was singing and touring at that age so maybe she really didn’t know.

I'm so glad Beth made Randall sleep on the couch. He deserved it.

I think there is something to that. My dad volunteered for the army in ‘66 or so. He said that he signed up because he saw the writing on the wall: get drafted and go into combat or volunteer and possibly have a choice in his army career. So he volunteered and ended up at the Army’s language school, and the later was stationed in Germany during Vietnam. (They monitored the Russians at the Czech border via radio transmissions - hence the language school part.) This of course was before the draft lottery, but Jack may have had some choice by volunteering.

Right? Way to demonstrate that you don’t belong in Philly, Randall. As a Philadelphian and a Girl Scout, this episode bugged me. You just can’t go to a random store with cookies and a table and set up shop! All those cookie booths are scheduled in advance so you don’t have thay exact scenario! Plus certain stores (like Target) do not permit cookie booths, and other stores (like Wawa) allow cookie booths on certain days only. Showing up unannounced is a big no-no! And thats really all I took away from that episode.

Can we talk about Randall's magic plane that got him back and forth across country in a day? (Not sure it really was a day, but it seemed like it to me.) Randall hops on a plane and in seconds he's with his sister! What? Something happened in Philly? Hold on, I'll be right there. Does he have that many miles left after all these plane trips?

I thought Mackenzie was one of the pros! Color me surprised.
