  1. Uh huh, but here's the thing, Dorrian did so much better of a job than Gene did yesterday, and I'm happy about that. Can you just imagine Harold Ford? Joe's abuse of Mika is beyond. I am no defender of Mika, but this is real abuse and it should not be allowed. eta: and of course at some point they mocked Jeremy Peters in a childish way by asking if Julie Pace was "still there". Why oh why do I continue with this show?
  2. The wimpy Morning Joe producers will just block all the offenders on Twitter, that's what happened to me both from the Mika and Joe accounts long ago. They don't allow dissension for long. Well not when it gets really hot, really real, and really true. Speaking of Twitter, I can't even look at my feed for very long anymore, it's my own fault since I choose who I follow but the news is mostly bad, 24/7, it's just too depressing. I know I could change this reality by unfollowing people and news sources but I believe in those that I'm following.
  3. I'm just at this part on my DVR right now, and I too, am really disappointed in Gene, whom I generally respect a lot. Excuse me Joe, yes, you are being very difficult.
  4. Every single bit of this post needs to be repeated a million times loudly across the country to help those blind to the facts understand the outrage being displayed over this case. It doesn't matter if this is a legally justifiable shoot in the long run, the whole thing, from day one, has been a travesty of justice. And it isn't even that a True Bill (though that sparked the outrage Monday night) was not returned, it's the utter sham that McCullough made of the Grand Jury process. Wilson did not know about the theft of cigars at the mini-mart so stretching by trying to invoke the fleeing felon justification is a lie. The protests are not going to stop, this genie is out of the bottle, there were way to many highly publicized videos of what has been going on forever in a very short period of time, starting with Eric Garner right up to Tamir Rice two days before the Grand Jury decision was released. There is racism in our law enforcement systems all over the country and black males are especially at risk.
  5. Whoops, look what happened, I'm inured to Whoopi's awfulness, I just expect it so it flies right past me; now it has to be especially egregious for me to notice.
  6. Pleasant show today for me. I am coming to appreciate episodes with "no sparks!".
  7. TMZ has broken some stuff - it's the moderator thing though, that's something that hasn't come up in the Daily Mail/Daily News stuff. There appears to be some rancor, but it's hard to discern the truth of what is going on from the leaking, it's been all over the map. It's very clear, that RO is pretty shook up about recent events nationally, and triggered, so who knows.
  8. Fuck Joe. Should we add up the property damage from when white folks riot over sports events? You know, when they turnover police cars and set shit on fire? eta: for once Mika gets it right - no matter with the Mike Brown situation, it has become a symbol of a massive problem. #BlackLivesMatter
  9. Chuckles, thanks for the reviews, I won't be watching that hot mess of a Sherri link! Isn't this the second time she's been on The Talk recently or did someone just mention that it would be Monday a few weeks ago?
  10. Hugs Dissy and Jaded, I too am a member of this shitty club like so many of us are - I had a first cousin that repeatedly molested me that nobody believed me about for a long time. My parents tried to say I was having nightmares because I had previously been molested by the father of my daycare provider. I guess at least that time, my parents believed me. It's hard to see how triggered RO is right now, I completely get it, having chronic PTSD from all the shenanigans in my childhood. ETA: what I don't understand is how the general public doesn't get it, all one has to do is watch Mad Men to understand rape culture, misogyny and the patriarchy. We've come quite a ways, but rape culture and slut shaming is still awful.
  11. It wasn't just the media, they were only reporting what McCulloch (District Attorney), Nixon (Governor) and the St Louis Police were doing and saying in the run up to the decision. That's what Ro was getting at last week when she said they knew that what the decision would be and they knew that people were going to be pissed off and the reaction was going to be bad, so we got the early State of Emergency and the St Louis Police purchasing all kinds of nasty stuff to deal with the protesters and rioters. And to me, they are separate entities - there has been a lot of training and effort since the shooting to bolster the peaceful protesters, but it was always anticipated that the troublemakers might return in the chaos of the decision, and sadly they did. I'll repeat Ro's question from Tuesday, why did they release the decision at 8 p.m. instead of during the day or the next morning? Historically they knew that the bad actors were out at night and not during daylight. I hope the civil suit is for a lot of money and that they win, hopefully after the DOJ indicts Wilson for involuntary manslaughter. For me, the GJ process is deserving of criticism because of it's extraordinary nature and because to me, anyone with knowledge of McCulloch's personal history would find it reasonable that he recuse himself because of the nature of this case. Never mind the unlawful trickery that went on nor the fact that McColloch essentially presented the case with Brown as the Defendant and Wilson as the Plaintiff which is the opposite of what the case actually was. RosieP brought up witness #10 but the cross talk didn't allow for further discussion of those details. Laverne Cox remarked about the lack of humanity in Wilson during the Stephanopoulos interview, what struck me was the lack of any remorse, I would expect remorse from anyone that killed another human being for any reason. As to the behavior of the family subsequent to the shooting, I find it irrelevant to finding justice in the shooting of Mike Brown, it's the old trope of a perfect victim that often gets used with victims of rape.
  12. @Milk-Eyed Mender, I can answer the who she is but not the why she'd be deemed disgusting. She's a fabulous activist transgender woman, who plays one of the main characters in Orange is the New Black. She's won quite a few GLAAD awards for her work and her activism.
  13. Exactly. And in St Louis County it isn't even practiced 100% of the time (a Grand Jury). It's been known since the day after the shooting that McCulloch was not to be trusted, he has personal experience that should really require that he be recused from cases like this.
  14. Lincoln, Holland I get them confused. RosieP also had a video of them going into one of the tunnels, sorry I already deleted it from dvr so I don't have the context.
  15. Just saw this. She is having a really hard time. Which makes me sad, too.
  16. Thank you Laverne Cox for bringing up implicit bias. Not much else to say, Pitbull makes me smile, loved Gaga and Bennett. Yay! for Whitney (former SYTYCD dancetestant) getting her first mirror ball, glad Ribeiro won. Oh wait, lemme bust out my teeny weeny violin for Whoopi and her commute troubles because peaceful protesters shut down the Holland tunnel. Try the Washington Bridge, or or or or.... just shaddup already.
  17. Rachel and Nicolle have always had really good chemistry in the past, finding commonality on some things and agreeing to disagree on others. That's why I thought that Nicolle was a decent fit for the View. Can you imagine Rachel ever inviting Elisabeth Hasselbeck on her show? For any reason?
  18. This is what RosieP was trying to say with her word salad, that she was concerned that an avalanche of it could to destroy someone, I think. But she just couldn't spit it out. There is some validity to that concern, but I don't think that applies to the BC situation. It's not just social media, it's victim after victim with nothing to gain really except for notoriety and a sullied reputation coming forward with the same story. Ro is a victim so she knows the territory. I felt so bad for her yesterday, chewing that gum so hard, trying to stand up for the victims, I just wanted to give her a long snuggly hug. Last weekend I noticed CNN throwing shade at NBC for not commenting on the growing controversy because of the development deal but by Sunday's shows MSNBC started commenting on the allegations. Nicolle didn't have the sequence about the AP interview straight, the whole interview was on the record - so Bill's bullying at the end and his threats to the interviewer's integrity and reputation were just more of his bullying and efforts to silence the controversy. The AP withheld that part of the interview until things just got too hot to keep it quiet anymore. I found it terribly uncomfortable to see Camille sitting there all supportive. He's beginning to look like a broken man. It's a shame that such a transformative in good way person turns out to be human, with a dark side. And that the people who have surrounded him didn't do anything to stop this shit. I really don't understand why block one wasn't Mike Nichols, I couldn't even muster an emotion for Whoopi because I'm finding her so distasteful anymore. I feel terrible for Diane Sawyer though who also just recently lost her mother.
  19. ...itching to start tweeting bully Whoopi but she'd just block me, ha! Like Morning Joe did. le sigh.
  20. Heh, poor Mika, she can't compliment the bully on his weight loss on air. There is no way on this planet that Christie will ever be the GOP nominee, but I guess we'll be entertained by watching him try, or dismayed by his bullying er, efforts. Mark Leibovich nailed it on temperament. Thank you Senator Amy for setting the bloviator straight!
  21. I'm still struggling y'all. WTF? Is Whoopi really trying to tell America that she does not have any comprehension of white privilege? Seriously? I just don't even know where to start with this. She completely shouted and shut Ro down. Again. This Ferguson situation and the way it is being handled is making it even more of a powder keg in my estimation, and that Whoopi is a big problem and we all should be able to discuss why it makes us uncomfortable in every aspect. I pray that cooler heads prevail and follow the pleas of Michael Brown's parents, but the way authorities are handling this is just adding fuel to the fire, it's taking a very tense situation and making it worse. To that end, I didn't appreciate either RosieP or Nicolle's remarks either. I was fine with Shaq promoting the new Icy Hot tens units, I think it's a big breakthrough that these are being commercially sold because they do wonders for muscle based pain and now that they are so easily available, maybe less folks will get trapped into addicting narcotics for pain.
  22. Here are links to the civil case and "prior bad acts" filed on behalf of the woman who received the settlement from Cosby. I think Nicolle did have it right, it's just awful to discuss from either perspective, but there is a "where this a lot of smoke" aspect to this as there is in the Jian Ghomeshi case (thanks for the reference Dreamboat Annie, eesh, what a can of worms that is). I'm not understanding how or why Whoopi is getting away with being so unprepared with Wolff as EP, not that they haven't all had some blips*, but Whoopi is by far the least prepared and she's the know it all barking at us that "this is the way it is", if she's going to be that insistent about her view somebody should damn well be making sure that she's in possession of all the facts, even if they have to spoon feed the stuff to her in the make up chair or through her IFB. *I'm still thinking of Nicolle's later correction about the "cure" for Ebola which reminded me of what Rachel Maddow will do when she get's things wrong. We should be seeing that far more often from the co-hosts.
  23. ...takes a moment to chuckle at some of the ridiculous names. So, it appears from spoilers that Chloe may in fact be done, or at least she is so far. This makes me happy!
  24. deleted because Joy is not Sherri.
