  1. There are no episode attributions in these nominations.
  2. Marky Mark's motivations aren't anything but financial. Too bad The Spew couldn't bother to take a look at The Daily Beast to do an ounce of research. He's having troubles (due to his felony record) gaining concessionaire licensing in CA to expand his restaurant chain and fears it might be in an issue in other states. Police reservist, my back side. My disappointment in Bill Wolff expands almost every day. Stop taking on Topics if you don't know all the facts please, and for goodness sake, please stop teasing topics that never get covered due to Whoopi's inability to moderate properly. Signed, Frustrated on the Internet
  3. Laughs @shok probably. They are allowing a pretty good whitewash of the torture reports though, I'm cringing every time I hear enhanced interrogation it makes me wanna hurl. I pray that Joy Behar is live and not some taped shit from weeks ago - we'll know easily by what they talk about. eta: @Landsnark - he had minions do it for him in his absence. I guess Pelosi and Rockefeller will take the fall in the predicted finger pointing contest.
  4. This was all I could think about while I was listening to McCain on the floor. Nicolle should be ashamed of her rant this morning. Yes, media watchers made note of it.
  5. This, she doesn't bug me as much as others, but I don't understand why RO doesn't push back a little harder with her. No need for Bitsy levels, just a counter now and again with facts vs. talking points, when Nicolle goes to ground with them. It wasn't three, it wasn't 20, sounds like it was 119 detainees - 26 of them who were wrongly held - that were tortured. I wonder if the topic will come up again post release of the report, tomorrow.
  6. @Eliot - those critiques against liberals are aimed directly at Chris Hayes, Rachel Maddow and Steve Kournacki, he always says "in the media" and once in awhile has the balls to say "in the evenings even on this network". It's Phil Griffin's version of fair and balanced I guess? eta: NIcolle was pretty moderate on The Spew. She tried the "it doesn't matter anymore" and "it was only 3 people" lines but they didn't really get any traction. By all I'm seeing at this point, torture did not give us intel on Bin Laden or help with anything else.
  7. If we have to deal with RosieP and her Queen B and Brooklyn in da house, RO Is just fine with her chuckles about Frozen. Whoopi, it's the Senate Intelligence committee not the CIA that is releasing the report. The reason that it is being released now is that Sen. Feinstein will be replaced as chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee in three weeks and has worked long and hard and fought the CIA to get this report together, since the Republicans are taking over the Senate this report wouldn't stand a chance to see the light of day, so the time is now. Nicolle is repeating Joe's talking point from this morning in a much more moderate way. Nicolle sat in for Mika and went on quite the strident screed on this topic, I was curious how she'd approach this on The View. I figured it would come up since it's so important to RO. I just don't know what to say about Whoopi and her defense of Bill Cosby at this point anymore, I think it's pretty clear that she's never been sexually abused or she could not go on like this. RosieP and RO have it right, it stays with you for a lifetime.
  8. She greatly moderates the presentation of her opinions on The Spew. It will be interesting to see if the release of the torture report will come up in Hot Topics (I'm pretty sure it will because it's an important topic to RosieO) how Nicolle addresses it. Mika's not there, so I'm not surprised that Nicolle was more active this morning. I'm not a Nicolle hater though - I can appreciate other points of view when they aren't the same as mine, but golly gee, she was pretty adamant and vehement defending her previous employer this morning. I also think there is a big chunk of Nicolle that is pretty center politically, she seems much more moderate on social issues. Shok will disagree with me, which is okay, I think we have an understanding. ;) Joe's ridiculous reach about sports icons wearing t-shirts about abortion being murder was so cynical and nasty, it really doesn't deserve attention.
  9. Okay, there it was first thing, pretty much verbatim, a slam at Rachel from last night where she asked if there would once again be a conservative freak out about LeBron James's t-shirt. He's so damn petty.
  10. I wasn't listening too closely today, but I feel like he made a snarky reference to Steve, Chris and Rachel waiting breathlessly for the next six weeks for indictments to come down. He always refers to them in a smug better than them way.
  11. Really Whoopi? REALLY??? Of course we mothers when we send our young ladies off to school tell them, mind your drinking and please please please, mind your drink if you must (so that they don't get roofied) while we are telling them to stay away from synthetic drugs that could ruin their brains. But are you really going to blame the victims should they be intoxicated? God damn, it's never ending with this woman and her full on embrace of rape culture. This to me was much more egregious than RosieP's suggestion to talk to our sons. I was surprised to hear that Parker goes to Hofstra, I thought he was at a military academy. I guess that must have been for high school and that Parker was whom Rosie was referring to last week when she spoke of same gender schools? Laughs, I don't miss getting multiple emails from Hofstra a day, I even unsubscribed to them twice and they kept coming back trying to recruit my daughter. Bit of advice if you have a junior/senior make sure that they don't put your main email account on their SATs or ACTs; set up a shared gmail account just for that. ;) I love Downton Abbey I just wish there were more than 9 episodes per season.
  12. I'm sure that I'm not the only one noticed that EGOT starts with ego right? One of my favorite annual events, The Kennedy Center Honors was last night. The spouse had CBS' morning show on and they showed a pretty long snippet of it, and there she was, annoying me, Ms. Whoopi Goldberg.
  13. WTF is this? What a perfect insanely egotistical way to end an awful week of Morning Joe. What a no talent hack.
  14. No apology and no acknowledgment that he's getting torn up by media watchers. This perfect victim stuff needs to stop, whether it's in racially tinged situations like these or in the rape culture. Can't be said enough. Speaking of rape culture, Mika's precious daughter is at a particularly rapey school. I noticed that yesterday. Thanks! The hypocrisy exhibited today was stomach turning, that's for sure.
  15. How the heck does Deutsch determine that Brown is a criminal? Was there a trial I wasn't aware of? Oh that's right, no there wasn't, because Brown was executed by Wilson. I'm red-faced about Rev. Al turning up after I said he wouldn't, but then again I didn't realize that the Garner Grand Jury was going to repeat the Brown Grand Jury yesterday. How the heck is Deutsch "proud of their performance" regarding the protesters in NY? Most of the protesters in Ferguson have been non-violent as well. What was a little comforting to me from what I've seen, the NYPD for the most part weren't in full riot gear, which if you ask me? Can incite violence in itself.
  16. I was a server both full service dinner and cocktail in the 80s and it sucked to take the pay cut for a "career" job when I finally got one. Huge cut in income and the loss of free untaxed cash. I as well as most of my co-workers was a college graduate and many of them had masters and some PhDs - the economy was almost as awful as it is now.
  17. I'm far too offended that Nene is on Broadway and acting like she is now a full fledged member of the "Broadway Community" at the moment to worry about Sherri. I don't think I can express how much this chaps my ass.
  18. Lisa Bloom had a one way twitter take down of Joe the other night. I'm sure we'll go up another notch tomorrow now that the Staten Island Grand Jury on the Eric Garner case did not return a True Bill. Wonder how NBC's annual Tree Lighting show will go tonight? I'm sure security has been beefed up. It sounds like the Mayor has cancelled his appearance.
  19. Harry Connick Jr he ain't! Show of hands? I adore Seth McFarland as well, dude is brilliant!
  20. The whole topic was stupid and off the mark. The biggest reason that girls should be separated around adolescence isn't about the risk of shenanigans in school, it's about the way that many of them plummet in self esteem and start doubting themselves and really give up easily in STEM subjects. They do remarkably better when boys aren't around to dominate these topics. Personally, I think for some girls this extends all the way into college. They do better when they don't have worry about make up and all that stupid stuff that seems to come into play when boys are around either, yes there are still some "mean girls" but it goes way down. Probably works the same way somewhat for boys, if they aren't distracted by the drama of the girls. Win-Win. She's non-stop with it. It's so freaking out of touch it's ridiculous. It's also a large part of how the GOP sustains themselves, selling that American Dream and Exceptionalism to the masses who are barely making it paycheck to paycheck or worse. Meanwhile, social mobility in fucking Britain is less rigid. eta: @backformore, don't scare me like that!
  21. Never gonna happen for same reason you will never see Chris Hayes or Rachel, they would tear him to shreds and he won't have that, only sycophants allowed. Rev. Al has usually been welcome on the show, and even since the shooting on August 9th, but he hasn't been anywhere near it for quite some time now, now why would that be? Same reasons. At some point this has to be career hindering for some of the "regulars". I suspect though, since Joe keeps kicking up another notch each day, he knows he's getting attention and is possibly doing this for ratings, which makes me detest him even more.
  22. The Whoopi Goldberg Hour does not really allow for the full discussion of the overwhelming inequality of wealth and opportunity that is bedeviling American society presently, though of all people Nicolle tried to address it as a topic. Sensible RO with the 20k gift of a car to her children as a graduation gift was shut down as well. And yes, I think that a 20k car from a parent as wealthy as RO is, is a sensible gift. Old school vernacular would indicate that old money is wealth and new money is rich, the problem now is that the 1% is just the 1% and the middle class is gone.
  23. Intelligent woman. I've been pondering this for awhile now. Mika is well educated, a bunch of the ladies on CNN and Fox are even Ivy League educated and most of them are guilty of the same damn thing as Mika. The oversexualization, the preening to the camera, the coy stupid questions - almost every single one of them do it. It's seemingly the great bimbofication of female news anchors/pundits. There has to be a reason for it, it has to focus grouped or they wouldn't do it. It's pretty sad what it says about American society, I think. I'll take MHP and Rachel every day over these women, but they aren't exactly getting stellar ratings either.
