Chase has all kinds of funky rules that rose their head around the same time last year that DOJ Operation Chokepoint started closing down "questionable" adult websites card processing and banking abilities - stuff generally linked to online gambling, pornography and the like, additionally payday loan companies.. But it's a "morality" issue at Chase. When Chase started getting really aggressive about this (closing personal accounts of individuals involved) - Wells Fargo and some other banks took out ads to tell adult businesses that they'd happily take their business.

Pikers! Is DialIdol.com still a thing? Heck I used to get in a couple thousand votes for SYTYCD before I stopped being invested at all (never used it for anything else). giggles Whoopi and her sycophant Nicolle, what a pair. How bad really, was the Neil deGrasse Tyson interview? I admire you all for taking this all for the team. 80 some comments last week - the herd has been drastically thinned. (For the record and to send you Nicolle flowers from MJ, she was spewing that the IN RFRA law is the same as Bill Clinton's and every other state with Joe this morning.)

Huh, so that's where Paula Zahn went. <snerk> I completely agree about BW's inability to completely retire though I'd think she'd be able to keep herself pretty darned busy just hobnobbing, hanging out with Cindy Adams, Arianna Huffington et al and going to charity events and such in NYC. I'd take her life in retirement in a heartbeat!

Geist is a complete and total Scarborough sycophant and why not (I put Mika in this category as well)? It's brought him huge success. And he fed right into the bullshit when Wilco was brought up - saying if they are cancelling their IN appearance they damn well better check the laws in every state before they follow through with an appearance. I really can't explain why Robinson didn't clarify although I think sometimes he doesn't argue about things out of pragmatism. It allows him to appear on MJ to assert his opinions on topics more personally important to him.

I'd actually rather see Malloy run for POTUS than O'Malley. I too greatly admire him.

See that's the thing. There are literally hundreds of kids like Sophia on the circuit that nobody at the "local dolly dinkle" have heard of until they are on the teevee machine. All you have to do is look at YouTube and a couple of the popular dance channels that cover competitive dance and you'll quickly see who they are and know their names. People may or may not appreciate choreographers on the convention/competition circuit, but people that appreciate well trained all-around dancers (especially the parents shoveling out the cash!) do. The dance world as is always said is really small, but it's weird how the dolly dinkles will try to keep their clients by isolating them from the truth.

I understand this sentiment completely. The reasoning behind my feelings about Dior and Moschino children's lines along with skimpy $600 blinged-out competition costumes is the unnecessary and inappropriate excess. I actually feel the same about adult "couture", it's part of my value system.

Government overreach is their current talking point, I mean it's always a talking point when referring to federal regulations - but it's the hot off the presses from Ailes term because it's what they are all barking when talking about this topic in particular. On topic, there goes Cackles, referring to the Clinton law (another talking point) and using "I'm not a lawyer... but," I'm not a fill in the blank is sure getting handy. Some people must be saying it's a good way to avoid the truth.

Most of the "blue" states that have comparable laws also have laws that make sexual orientation a protected class, you know, along with gender, race... and um? Farking RELIGION. I'm so glad I missed the show this morning. Also of note, as much as I was horrified by Russert's involvement with selling the invasion of Iraq, participation in the outing of Plame et al, the last time MTP was worth watching was when Russert was alive. NBC should have hired Ifil as the the replacement then, and have made a series of errors ever since, they should still hire Ifil if she'd take it. As it stands now, it's merely an imitation of cable news talking heads shouting matches, which is why the ratings are in the tank.

Those photos were beautfiul, thing is - I'd never have let my then 12 year old "dress-up" in Moschino, Jean Paul Gaultier and Dior in the first place. Especially Jean Paul Gaultier!!!! It's always about going just over the line in judgement with Maddie's adult team, in my estimation. Are we trying to make a commercially marketable successful, well adjusted child, or are we trying shock the shit out of people to get a reaction for fame?
-
That's a a really interesting question - because honestly - I think the nude leotards are what evoke such strong reactions, primarily. (Not necessarily in this group - but I mean generally - across the internet.) To me, as a dance mom, I even see them as underwear of sorts because the purpose of them in reality is to wear them under costumes that are too sheer, or don't fully cover, or modesty in general. It's strange though - even though that's what I think of them, because they have been a staple in my household for at least 15 years along with nude shorts/panties and crop tops, I had no reaction to them/it (I'm the dance mom who had to go out and buy a freaking nude thong for my then 10 year old because it was the only thing that would work under one costume and I was very squicked about that!). I didn't think anything about it in the Chandelier video at all, I thought it was appropriate to the story in the video (I thought exposed, vulnerable, losing it). What I reacted to in Elastic Heart, is more about Sia using Maddie as essentially an avatar on a continued basis, while Sia continues to try to hammer out her own emotional issues visually through her videos. And Sia has very serious emotional baggage. That's why, I'm concerned/curious what the third video in the trilogy will be. While I didn't like it all - I was happy to see the vision/version of Elastic Heart on Ellen. I think that everyone involved realizes that to continue to portray the video in other performances would be a really bad idea.

Dance Mums UK: Episode and General Discussion
NextIteration replied to Loves2Dance's topic in Dance Moms
I'm getting 98% of it, not bragging - this is really some awful TV and mediocre dancing. Most of these "mothers" deserve a special place in hell - but the director is much better than Abby. -
Girl, you can say that a bazillion times. Had you asked me that 20 years ago, I'd have laughed in your face and told you that you were being absurd. :( No you aren't being a candy-ass. I got hooked into The Following because of someone else in my life suggesting that we should watch it together, tbh I find it triggering and have no idea why I continue to expose myself to it. Just sayin'. (Same thing with Homeland, but I'm truly hooked on that show out of continued interest.)

Father's name is blanked out, but mommy's last name does not match her maiden name. The single I can see is the plurality of birth. Poor Chelsea... she wanted to meet her birth mother, Ro allows it, and SURPRISE! Moneygrubber. The photo of Ms Schilling with the Chelsea as infant? She looks completely baked, in a hardcore way.

It all goes back to... IOKIYAR. See: Cheney and Bush starting a war with the wrong country - Ben Gazi! has nuttin' on that. See: Karl Rove missing (deleted) emails See: AG Alberto Gonzales missing (deleted) emails See: Jeb Bush's personal email server See: Senator McCain being born in Panama The reason that the DumpTruck is being pissy about Cruz, is that Cruz appeals to the same low-info demographic that DumpTruck does.

This link includes the notarized legal documents of the woman giving up parental rights to the adoption agency and a nasty letter that she wrote Rosie. Sheesh, poor Ro just can't catch a break this year.

Clicking through to the original YouTube video, you can see that it was published on January 15th, just a week after the Elastic Heart video was released, it's sort of a shame it wasn't released at the same time. It counters a lot of the "theories" about what the video represented, and it explains why Maddie in this episode refers to her character as a wolf. That for me, takes a lot of what troubled me about the video away - they gave her a role that was appropriate for a pre-teen and not complicated by all the adult emotional implications. So thank you very much for providing that link. I never saw pedophilia, I just wasn't sure it was age appropriate placing Maddie in a role with so many psychological implications. The thing is, even though I am now fully informed about the project, I can still see why many object to the video without that level of understanding about it. Now I'm curious what the third video of the trilogy will bring, betting on a nude leotard though for continuity. I had seen Nia and Kenzie's duet on YouTube from a jump competition and enjoyed it, but would never have derived Abby's "story" from viewing it. I really liked Kalani and Maddie's duet - very preety, the group number? Not so much - enjoyed last week's much more. I think I will take the time to watch the full CADC group dance from the choreo cut show next week - because I suspect that I'll agree with Cray Cray Cathy that she may have been robbed. Need to see the full versions of both dances to know for sure though.

Racist is a little strong, I'll just say that she very consistently displays her implicit bias, imo. And does it in a very offensive way.

Add that Brit Mickey whatever and start a new morning show!
-
It's also an old-assed ad from at least five years ago. @oakville - Morning Joe is on NewsBusters almost daily, if for no other reason then to call Scarborough a RINO or some such (which is a lie). Mika is beyond obnoxious this morning..

There are studios and individuals that are very well known and broadly admired in the competitive dance worlds - both the circuit and ballet competition. They are the studios/schools that consistently put out winners, and the individual winners themselves. On a scale with all of the US, or the world, it's but a small drop in a huge bucket but in the dance world, where casting eventually takes place as these dancers grow into adults (or even child roles) they are known. On that note, I had never heard of Abby Lee until this show came along, that doesn't mean that she's never put out great dancers before - it's just not a consistent name that I remember from quality nationals.

Where can I go to get those two worthless hours back? (well really 1 1/2 or so after FF). Nothing resolved, not many questions answered... NatG looked frightened and upset, NatD looked like a butter face that boxes - skidding on her Louboutins.

Neither Abby, nor being on this train wreck of a show are arbiters of success in the dance world.

Future Dance Stars, or Abused Pawns?: The Girls

It's worth searching out the AfterBuzz with Blake - he quit the whole thing due to the needless drama and possible harm to the kids. -
Oh for crying out loud Scarborough, why the hell are you insinuating that the Palestinians of Gaza have had a vote since the "Arab Spring"? There have not been full Palestinian elections since 2006, when they did elect Hamas.
