MSNBC: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Vaulted)
NextIteration replied to Jaded's topic in Political Network Talk
Someone needs to pull the plug on Steve Schmidt. Generally, I find him reasonable, but he's being ridiculous tonight. -
I'll sit in my corner with the opinion that Whoopi tearing into CCB about religion and right wrong was a good thing. I might have mentioned before that my biggest takeaway from 10 years of CCD after Vatican II was the Golden Rule. Generally speaking, I agree that Whoopi's heavy handedness sucks (and she was awful on Polanski and Cosby), but it was Raven that was spot on about the victim blaming.

oops, double post.

I agree, and I think that the Democratic establishment decided very early - ergo the endorsement letter signed by all the female Democratic Senators so early on. Elizabeth Warren signed onto the letter, but has not formalized her endorsement unlike all of her cohorts. The concept of "turns" is generally a GOP one, they are known for falling in line and not falling in love, Democrats generally fall in love and are like herding cats. It looks like they still do, despite the best laid plans. ;) I support Bernie in the primary, but I will vote Democrat no matter what. New polls are out since I linked this morning, and Bernie is leading in them both in IA and NH, I knew the trend lines looked bad for her, I just didn't like all of MSNBC misrepresenting them.

@bannana - they talked about DeBlasio and Bratton suggesting that women use the buddy system to hail cabs because 15 rapes in 2015 were perpetrated by cabbies.

Have I mentioned how much I hate CCB? She gave us a prime example as to why I hate her today. Christianity/religion has zero to do with morality. SHUT UP. And Joy was wrong as far as religion in the U.S. goes, a recent Pew poll shows that we heathens are growing in numbers. Grrr at the victim blaming, you want to know why we live in a rape culture CCB? Christian patriarchal bullshit and justified rape in the buybull. Thank you Raven, you did good, so did you Whoopi. I want to know why we had to listen to a whole season of CCB whining about "sexy costumes" on DWTS when that's mostly what her wardrobe is made up of on The Spew? Not today, but how many times have we seen her midriff now? (I don't care about sexy clothes, just hypocrisy!)

Almost as bad, "distribution" not being of State provided water, but the water that's being donated. le sigh Snyder should be in jail. -
So we're just a few minutes in and after the Roll Tide mania, Joe Biden is quoted. He states that Hillary covers a lot issues but hasn't concentrated on income inequality as Bernie always has, but has now come around to it and has thoughtful policies to address it. Joe then goes on to spew that she's flip flopped, no, that's not a flip flop Joe, that is a change of focus, Mika calls her inauthentic. Jesus. And then they misrepresent the polling, saying that Hillary is behind in IA and behind by a "large amount" in NH. The chyron reads "Clinton is in serious trouble". I'm a Bernie supporter, but here we go again, all of MSNBC is representing the polls that way. And why the hell they have a GOP reporter commenting (Kristine Solstis) about this race is beyond my understanding. Once again, Clinton hatred with my coffee. eta: Joe triples down on the poll distortion in the third hour edit and declares Bernie ahead in IA. Meecham and Robinson try to spank him about his 1968 comparisons to little affect.

I'm taking the over on the over/under that the name Juanita Broaddrick comes up this week (earlier than later). I'll put money on Tuesday. eta: dang, I lose, there goes Nicolle Wallace, less than an hour in on Monday.

I love me some Michael Moore, and his poignant letter and petition (which I signed) on the Flint water subject, but wouldn't it be a lot more useful at this point to be rounding up a drive to send money to get bottled water into the city? I fell asleep and missed Rachel last night, so I don't know if this was addressed. ETA: Clearly it was, how unfortunate that United Way is suggested, I don't know if I'll ever trust them again. -
Indeed, why not Ana Navarro. I get a kick out of her and she's one of very few GOP pundits that I can stand.

Brava to her for blatant outrage that bottled water is still not being trucked in and given away at this point, it's criminal (the whole thing is of course, but this last slap is beyond, beyond). I think Hayes, Maddow, Frontline and Vice are the only operations doing true investigative journalism on major cable/network television anymore. Maybe Lisa Ling, but she covers obscure topics. I don't watch Gumble so I'm not familiar. What annoys me about the show is the way she says that there's so much ahead and I look at my clock and she has five minutes left of the show, it's minor so I ignore it, but it's silly. -

Since the email server "scandal" has proven to be a nothingburger, Joe Scarborough has now doubled down on his hateful talk about the Clintons, this morning introducing Bill's rumored affairs around the time of the 2008 cycle (he didn't name anybody but I'm sure he's referring to rumors about Gina Gershon and Eleanor Mondale) comparing Bill to John Edwards and throwing the name of Jeffery Epstein out. Then along came Donnie Deustch with his fratboy bullshit who doubled down on the Epstein talk stating that Trump is salivating to bring that scandal to the forefront. Heilman has long been arguing that any and all of Bill's transgressions have been baked into the cake of Hillary support, but Scarborough is desperately trying to prove otherwise. He, Mika and Deutsch were all praising Trump's brilliance in going after the Clintons since Hillary remarked about Trumps outrageous sexism. Mika is a traitor to her gender, because she just can't get past her Clinton hatred. -
That was all I could think of when Joe went around that bend. Not really, it completely depends on the election year.

All In With Chris Hayes - General Discussion
NextIteration replied to David T. Cole's topic in All In With Chris Hayes
White Republican men dislike Hillary Clinton, so it's all projection, in my mind. MHP covered the Cosby arrest again Saturday morning and the first thing she did was throw up a photo of Cosby's mug shot - and used the words immediately that came to my mind when I saw it, cognitive dissonance. I'm so happy that he's finally being charged with something, anything for his untold crimes as a sexual predator, but it caught in my throat for a minute seeing the mug shot. He was America's dad for a decade. So many feels, most of them not good. -
That's a shame about Meredith but it doesn't surprise me, she'll probably find something akin to Katie's gig with Yahoo.

I wanted to slap half the panel across the face. Clinton calling Trump out for his gross sexism isn't her asking for anything. It's funny, we managed to go a whole primary season without Bill's peccadilloes being a campaign issue, but this slime Trump makes them an issue for Hillary? I couldn't believe that CCB said that Hillary asked for it. Nice way to stick up for your gender, dumbass. Paula was just as disgusting. Nicolle Wallace was on MJ last week saying that Hillary had said all sorts of unkind things about Monica in 2014, all she said was that she thought it was time for Monica to move on. Republican women befuddle me.

Sarandon is a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF. She reported her experiences in Greece for both the Huffington Post and RYOT - not what strikes me as money making endeavors.. Hat's off to Milk-Eyed Monster for posting the truth about the composition of Syrian refugees. It makes my blood boil when people refer to refugees as migrants in an attempt to whitewash the gravity and political/economic danger of the situation. Raven's wig was awful, they should have cut short Hot Topics to give the Dispirito commercial and Natalie Cole full attention.

The hypocrisy was brutal today.
-
It will be co-broadcast starting today on both Bloomberg and MSNBC. It's filling the empty time slot between MTP Daily and Hardball. I spit out a little coffee when Joe said tiny nice things about Hayes and Maddow.
-
Am I the only one that is chuckling at Joe's naked aggression at Nate Silver hidden by carrying the water, once again for Trump?

It does not appear to be just your run of the mill alliterative, does it? Is Abbey a closet right wing conservative? We saw some of that with Kira's out of wedlock pregnancy. Is this a super secret way of trying to trash Chloe? Inquiring minds would like to know! About the BItersweet Charity piece, it's a take on iconic Fosse choreography and most of the girls are old enough to be learning it and working on Fosse choreograpy, even if presenting it in the Jr category is questionable. But these are fake competitions set up for meet and greets and taping, so the age category is sort of irrelevant at this point. I'd rather see them take on Rich Man's Frug at their age, it can be done very well and isn't as overtly sexual. Which brings us back to what the hell she is implying by her addition of the word innocent to her alliteration.

I noticed that Nicolle mischaracterized Hillary's comments from last June in Vanity Fair regarding Monica Lewinsky as well (the comments weren't even given to Vanity Fair, they were just repeated from a Diane Sawyer interview!). They weren't nasty at all. Republicans lie, it's just a given. And nobody ever puts their asses in check on it either.

I promise, it was no bowl full of cherries actually needing one in 4th grade.
