Checking in after what, a month almost? Stress and memory, oh yea, it's a problem. I had to have lists with me the last three weeks because everything went in one ear and out the other. We are gonna have issues with the will and estate, two of us are of one mind and the third is off on another planet. Thankfully, Thanksgiving was without the third and my lass came home from college and we all had fun. We gave ourselves permission and did it. The memorial was Sunday, we postponed it so that my lass would be there to say farewell to her Nana. I did the program, all the music and photo stuff and it all went off without a hitch. It was strange because I must have reached acceptance somewhere between the shock and the memorial so I wasn't processing the "I'm sorries" very well. Or maybe I'm just still a bit numb. Now the dilemma of Christmas lies ahead of us. Ack. Hugs for all with troubles and losses and good golly Jellybeans, 2016 has to be a better year for you.

Excuse me? ::grabs q-tips to clean my ears:: Did Joe just fucking accuse Rachel Maddow of attacking Trump? Maddow doesn't waste her time talking about Trump except when she's forced to and it's never "vicious like Megyn Kelly". I keep saying I'm just about done, and then here I am. Sigh. Have you seen the ridiculous new ads that make them sound balanced?

She's gone already? I thought she was there into December. More evidence she probably got shit-canned and her replacement is ready for her curtain call. Bitsy stepped into pretty big shoes on the F&F couch, Carlson attended Stanford and was a Miss America (also babysat Michele Bachmann waaaay back in the day) and Edie Hill before her was on that couch for about a decade or so.

Crushing applause, to your whole post but especially this.

All In With Chris Hayes - General Discussion
NextIteration replied to David T. Cole's topic in All In With Chris Hayes
When Chris has to be forced to have Steve King on, and put up with his racist nonsense. Sigh. Why oh why does MSNBC think we the folks that still watch, want this, I don't understand. It feels like they are intentionally trying to drive us away, and where do they expect their ratings to go if they do? -
53, once or twice. I'm a very intermittent sleeper anyways, so it's not something that wakes me up really.

You forgot that wretched "journalist" Ron Fournier.

Michele spent many years stirring up shit before and during her legislative career in Minnesota state politics. Like getting the first Charter for charter schools in the country, her's of course concentrated on Intelligent Design, this so she no longer had to homefool her brood. Then she went on to tehGays in the MN state legislature. It was a sad day when her religious zealotry won her the seat in the 6th district, but that of course is the district that went over big for Jesse Ventura, full of all kinds of whackadoos. See above. We are the state that has voted Democrat for POTUS since 1968. Also that state that brought you Paul Wellstone and Al Franken in the senate. There are always pockets of whackadoos, and they are intentionally drawn with gerrymandering. All that said, please, Dog, no.

How so? We completely destabilized Iraq politically. What would be the measure of calm? Less then 20 suicide bombers a day somewhere in the country? I think it's important to always step back and remember that many of the Middle Eastern countries were mostly drawn on maps by the British with no consideration given to the ethnicities, culture and religion of the people inside their lines on paper. The minute we pulled out of Iraq, it was going to devolve into a civil war. Like it or not, strongmen like Hussien, kept an unlikely country stable, with atrocities of course, but contained.

I love Huntsman, shhhhh. I was sad to see her leave MSNBC, she'd be a great replacement for Bitsy - but I don't know if there is any way in the world to make Doocey and Kilmeade tolerable. It does seem odd that she'd leave teevee now, that's usually something you do when you have infants and toddlers.

I don't even need to watch Blindsided to know that our invasion of Iraq led directly to the rise of Daesh. Bagdadi told the soldiers that were holding him that he'd "See the in New York" when he was released from detention. He was in detention with all the previous Iraqi Army leaders that landed there after the de-Ba'athification of Iraq under the scum L. Paul Bremer. Why Joe pretends to not understand these basic facts is bullshit (he does) he's just spewing the GOP talking points, as he always does. Now that they are conflating Daesh terrorists with Syrian refugees (not one of the terrorists in the Paris attacks was Syrian), I can't do anything but shake my head. Didn't Americans learn about conflation of events when we invaded Iraq because 9/11?

Elisabeth Hasselbeck urges Obama to embrace “good-natured” American “bigotry” and turn away Syrian refugees

Paula's as well with all her relatives that are scientists and still believe in creationism. Now, I get it if you temper your belief about creation with the real amount of time that each "day" in Genesis may have taken, but otherwise? STFU. I'm done with you.

MSNBC: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Vaulted)
NextIteration replied to Jaded's topic in Political Network Talk
It's all disaster porn at this point. -
I'm still way adrift to keep up with this show and it's daily insults to my intelligence, but... I came across CCB's bullshit and Whoopi's defense of it on Facebook, and I cry FOUL! And? Off this show goes once again from DVR recordings. I can't tolerate such utter nonsense and that includes Paula. Denying evolution and trying to promote the fucking nonsense of the Creation Museum and getting away with it insults my intelligence, so I'm out. Permanently.

I'm still fuming about the Koch Bros contribution to my daughter's very liberal college and she's secretly on the hunt about just where that money went. Their contributions to universities and colleges makes me sick. Persuade them early, of course.

Rhodes Scholar Reporting the News Show Discussion
NextIteration replied to maraleia's topic in The Rachel Maddow Show
Even though often CNN's coverage of these types of events is often superior, I can't turn it on because of the "crisis" music - it's honest to goodness triggering for me. I know that sounds silly, but it's true. -
He asked for a new AUMF that was Daesh specific about 14 months ago.

I'm exhausted by the GOP use of the word feckless, don't they have a thesaurus?
-
Aw. I always felt so bad for the little kids my daughter's age with 9/11 birthdays, she had a few friends with that birthday (even her boyfriend now).
-
Oh yay for MSNBC and any MSNBC watchers, Morning Joe avoiders, a re-air of the ENTIRE Trump interview. hurl

Nice to see this smalltalk active! I've not been around much the last few weeks to snark, my mother had a heart attack a few weeks ago and died this past Saturday. You can check my profile and follow the saga if interested via my posts in the Duggar Small Talk "Prayer Closet".

So, Fiorina is precision perfect, Mika? Why don't you just change your party to Republican and call it a day. Fiorina has a group of 20 talking points that she applies to any question given, yes she delivers them strongly - but how hard is it to memorize that few lines? She's also a fucking liar, has been proven to be lying again and again about Planned Parenthood and still spews out the same rehearsed lies. Clinton on the other hand, is wonky as hell and can speak with precision on every.single.topic. without spewing nastily, and with clarity for all to understand. But the MJ assignment is to malign her at every turn. It's pretty astounding.
