Archive game for me last night, but FJ was an instaget. I also got the TS of combustible (although that was a weird clue, and I definitely said it in the form of a question), and humpback whales.

Instaget FJ tonight. I was surprised that two missed it. The only TS I got were blue chip and Jerry Maguire.

I can barely stand the ads for that show. I didn't make it through the pilot.

I couldn't come up with anything for FJ, not even a wild-ass guess. But I did get the TS of AMC, Weddell seal, umber, jaybird, Neil Diamond, and abiotic.

My state has an election every single year. Political ads are inescapable. And I hate all of them all of the time, but especially when I vote early.

I'm under no illusions that I really truly have a chance to win a billion dollars (or even several hundred million dollars), but I know I have zero chance if I don't play at all. So I give it a shot. I generally do the easy pick when I do play -- I don't want to get tied to numbers that will no doubt hit the time I don't play.

There were no fireworks in my neighborhood last night! It's a Festivus miracle. My peeve for the day is NBC's coverage of the Rose Parade, especially the commentary by Hoda Kotb and Al Roker. I couldn't watch live, so I recorded it, and it sucks! They've skipped all the marching bands in favor of commercials, and Al's comments are exceptionally stupid. Oh, wait, they've shown two bands -- Michigan and Alabama -- only because those are the teams in the Rose Bowl, I think. Edited to revise my peeve -- Al and Hoda (which just got corrected to Yoda) have started to show some of the marching bands. They are still saying stupid things, and there are still too many commercials, so the overall peeve stands.

I do occasionally buy Powerball tickets, but the most I've ever won is $4. It is fun to dream, though.

I had such an exciting New Year's Eve. I was in bed, snoozing before 10! And I slept until nearly 7! I hurt my back first thing in the morning yesterday being stupid, then I had to drive 2.5 hours, so I was wiped. Happy New Year, everyone!

I've never blocked anyone, either.

Paradise By The Dashboard Light is one of my favorite songs of all time.

Rough week. RIP Tom Wilkinson. I also loved him in The Full Monty. The scene where they're all in line at the employment office, subtly dancing, is great. And yes, so sublime in Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, another movie that exceeded my expectations.

If it does, try an alcohol-based wipe, or use a paper towel with some isopropyl alcohol. One of those should be able to remove the residue.

Almost an instaget FJ for me Friday, and I questioned my response. But again, it was the only name I could think of, so I stuck with it. I was surprised to be correct! The only TS I got were capital gains, vested, and 1620.

Or possibly peppered with actual shepherd on top.

I love Shepherd's Pie, but I've never actually made one.

I did get FJ, but it was far from an instaget. I thought for a while, and could only come up with those two at all. So basically I got FJ through ignorance of any other possible names. It counts, though, and also breaks the possible pattern of animal FJs. I also got the TS of frisk, palpation, Andre Agassi, and golf & gulf.

I forgot you were in NYC -- take the train out to Coney Island! Sometimes just being near the ocean, listening to the waves makes me feel better. (I have to make do with a river or lake where I live.)

And Rob Reiner is a carbon copy of his father. Overall, I enjoyed the show. I always love seeing the honorees' reactions to the performances and tributes.

Watching now, and wondering why we're having a mini-concert by Gloria Estefan. Not that I have anything against her, but it wouldn't have hurt my feelings to leave that part out and get on with the actual ceremony/tributes.
