B&B: What's Up Today at Forrester Creations? - Daily Chat
KerleyQ replied to Aquarius's topic in The Bold And The Beautiful
Seriously, it took more show time at the end of last week and start of Monday for Maya to finally spit it out than it did for Rick to process it and ask her to stay. -
Spoilers and Speculation: Clink Boom and Cheese Fondue
KerleyQ replied to BestestAuntEver's topic in General Hospital
I've been liking Sabrina/Michael, but I swear to God, if they write Sabrina as the Clink Boom baby, and use her to re-bond Sonny and Michael, I'm throwing bar ware. -

Agreed. It's not, to me an issue of "Maya used to be a man," because, as noted, she always felt like a woman. But, the process she had to go through to physically become a woman is something that Rick should have known about before they got to the point in their relationship where a permanent commitment, like marriage, was on the table. Because that does have an effect on them having children, which is something ALL couples should discuss and get on the same page about before entering into marriage. Whether Rick wants kids or not is something Maya should have talked to him about, and then the discussion of "well, having biological children will be impossible for me, because of this, so are you content to adopt or find a surrogate and use a donor egg to have children?" Not giving him the option to thoroughly consider that issue before he was down on one knee, when she knew the proposal was coming, and they'd had conversations about spending their lives together, is dishonest. Plus, this was something major about herself, something that other people knew about her, and the potential was there for Rick to find out from someone other than her. I think it's disrespectful, to someone you love enough to marry, to leave them in the dark about something this important, this central to who you are, and your life's journey, and leave things to potentially come to light via someone else (including the guy you were engaged to before him). That comment was weird. Especially since I don't think there was any indication that Ridge, or anyone at FC was thinking they should fire Maya for being transgender. If Maya lost her job, it would likely be more because she was Rick's hire, Rick's girlfriend, etc, and if Rick loses his place as CEO (I don't know if you were all aware, but Rick is, in fact, CEO), she might get the boot right with him because she's joined in on Rick's abusive treatment of the FC employees. I'll be seriously bummed if we don't get some blow back from Rick, both to Maya and others, over him being pretty much the last person in town to know Maya's secret. I appreciate that he loves her enough for her being transgender to not be a deal breaker for him, and it makes sense that someone who has grown up in the fashion industry in L.A. to be more accepting of this. But, we've been hammered over the head for months with how much Rick hates being lied to. So him finding out that everyone knew and it was still being kept from him until Maya got that ring on her finger should be an issue for him. -
Any chance we're not headed for an icky scene where Sonny, upon finding out that Liz knew and kept it secret, lays into her with one of his patented "BetrayingBitchWhoreSlutTramp" bar ware flinging rants? I haven't seen today's show yet. Are you telling me this is an actual thing that happened? Shhh!!! He'll hear you! Take it back! I'm with you, I wouldn't be able to watch that. Buh-bye, Sean Blakemore. Oh how I wish Shawn could have been something better, you beautiful man.

Sonny doesn't believe in business casual for his hitmen.
-
I'm so happy he's going to be in more episodes. I'm hoping we get at least one with all four of Cory, Topanga, Shawn, and Eric together.
-
I figure since it's unlikely they ever won't shit on Liz in some way, it's better for Becky to get something she can sink her teeth into like this than being on screen once a week carrying patient charts. I think the original poster meant that Sam saying that stuff to Emma was going to turn Emma into a Maxie type instead of a Robin type, not commenting on whether Sam would be either type.

And ME (as McBain) had a crap ton of chemistry with FH's Anna. GM? None. Not even a glimmer.

Soaps In Depth already bitched for them on Twitter. Something about how disrespectful it was to FrankenRon to cut in. I was dismayed at how many people jumped right in and agreed, but encouraged that a few people, at least, pointed out that it was pretty disrespectful to the victims and their families to piss and moan over the verdict being important enough to interrupt a TV show. Haven't seen the second half yet, but from what I saw of the first half, I kind of wondered if Greenlee was supposed to throw that vase or if RB improvised. Because TC looked kind of surprised (real, not scripted) and RB seemed like she wanted to laugh.
-
Ron must be ready to spit nails that someone dared to interrupt his epic live masterpiece. Is it me, or did they dye Liz and Greenlee's hair to match each other? If Greenlee's wasn't longer, you wouldn't know for sure who you were looking at from the back and sides.

I think it's less "doesn't remember" and more "refuses to acknowledge that his ideas now are not brand new, entirely created from his own imagination."
-
They don't even need to interview him anymore, they can just skip the effort, save some space, and print exactly that about every single GH story line. That's pretty much his standard response to interviews about any story line anyway.

That's what I've been waiting for since really early on in this story. It would be amazing to have Sonny be responsible for killing Jason.

http://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/finola-hughes-takes-gh-break Maybe Anna can go looking into why she wasn't able to get a hold of her daughter when Duke died?

Sam's moving box full of "bedroom stuff" looks like she raided my great-grandmother's yard sale. And give me a thousand breaks with the Duke/Sonny BFF crap. Please.

I had one of those, too! And it was so damn hard to make it clear to people (and to him) why I was breaking up with him. But, he justified it for me, in the end, when he kept following my friends around campus, demanding they make me give him another chance. If Bill and Katie break up, I wouldn't buy it if he didn't at least make an attempt at getting back with Brooke before just jumping on Steffy. -
Why the warning? I say go straight to the hot lead and call it a day. Her what, now?

Unspoiled Spec: "$40k, someone long dead is resurrected."
KerleyQ replied to BestestAuntEver's topic in General Hospital
The fat comments started almost immediately in SK's return. I've always felt like they were one of the many elements of his departure. It was one of the signs that Ron was always going to shit on his character. -
You know Ron just views that as a challenge. He clearly hasn't broken your spirit enough yet.
-
I say the new story with Robin returning at the NB this year, but either would be good. And don't worry that you're "hogging" the forum. There's no saying someone else couldn't be posting their stories at the same time you're doing yours.

Unpopular Opinions: "I hate BLTs from Kelly's!"
KerleyQ replied to LeftPhalange's topic in General Hospital
Which is why I said the HWs need to consider the actor's input. I never said they had to take it as gospel. For example, if MB tries to claim that Sonny would never endanger a woman or child, well then Ron can hit up YouTube and show MB numerous videos of instances were Sonny has, in fact, endangered women and children. And, of course, they should also take into consideration how often any particular actor comes to them trying to get story changed. If it's someone who's bitching about it like once a month, then, eventually, you're not going to take them as seriously as someone who rarely expresses that kind of concern. -

I think that whether an actor does know better depends, in large part, on the tenures of the actor and head writer. If you have someone who has been playing the same character for many years, decades even, then, compared to the head writers who tend to turn over regularly (outside of B&B, I believe), then, yeah, they're going to know their own character better than the HW who was been there a fraction of the time the actor has. I wouldn't say that MS "knows" Nina better than Ron, but BH, for example, damn well knows Liz better than Ron does. I think that, if a HW has an actor coming to them saying "listen, I've been playing this character for 15 years, and he would never do this. And here's why..." and they have specific reasons related to the character's past, then the HW should give that consideration. And, if they want to go full steam ahead despite that feedback, then they need to write into their story a "why" that makes sense as to why this character is behaving in a way that just does not work for people who have followed the show for years and know this character's history. IMO, the HW's should view the long term actors as a resource. Because when you ignore the knowledge they have of their characters, it's likely that you're going to end up doing things that annoy your long term audience, when some of them end up having the same issues that the actor raised about a plot point.- 2.6k replies

I still remember being in college (a 17 year old freshman back in 1990, who'd led a fairly sheltered life), and seeing a promo for one of the talk shows on at the time (I want to say Ricki Lake, but I can't remember for sure), and it was "Next on (show): People who change their sex to have sex with people of the same sex." And my initial thought was we were talking, say, men, who were attracted to men, but transitioned to women to sleep with men. But, no, it was more like men who were attracted to women, but truly believed they were lesbians, so they transitioned to women. Totally blew my naive little mind ("but, wait, if you're a man, and you like having sex with women, then, where is the issue?") But, it also shows how completely and utterly fluid this all is, depending on each individual. You have people who would have never, as their "birth gender" had sex with someone of that same gender, but, when they transition, they are attracted to people of that previous gender. You have people who are always attracted to one specific gender, regardless of their given or transitioned gender. You have people attracted to both, and you have the Bruce Jenner situation, where he says he feels asexual (a feeling which may change once he fully transitions and lives life as a woman for a while). I always took Dayzee's attitude towards Maya as one of "I was special enough to rise above my circumstances and blend into this family, you're not as special as me." (And it was not a good look for her.) It would be kind of interesting if her real reason for wanting to push Maya out of the picture was because she knew the secret and she didn't see any way for a Maya/Rick relationship to end up well for anyone. -
Well, to be fair, Maxie just got away from being with Spinelli again. Personally, it would take a lot of kissing someone who isn't a chinless passive aggressive toolbag to cleanse that shit from my mind.
