Kanye West: The Most Intelligent Celebrity

ITA and IIRC he said he saw that first Playboy when he was 5 years old. Adults walk around in each other's world at similar heights. Even with height differences you generally see people from their shoulders up. His kids are all so small that they are constantly seeing their maternal grandmother, mother and aunts at vulva and ass crack height. They've posted so many kid-centric videos where K/J moms and their friends are undulating and slow motion twerking throughout the scene while the kids are running around. It's not like they keep that shit under wraps until the nannies take the kids away. All their yammering about baptisms and such is the height of hypocrisy. They normalize a heinous category of abuse: creating prurient interest and desire in a child before it can even be verbalized. He's raising his kids in a hypersexualized, visually intrusive environment but red lipstick is the hill he wants to die on? Let's revisit this in a few years and see how it worked out, shall we?- 4.1k replies

Live With Kelly And Mark - General Discussion
suomi replied to Shermie's topic in Live With Kelly And Mark
My history with this franchise began with its first incarnation in 1975. (More accurately, with its very earliest incarnation in 1965). I've seen a lot of hosts come and go and almost all of them presented a natural and pleasing persona. Comparing this one to Johnny Carson is like apples and oranges. She does very well in her niche market which happens to generate beaucoup SAHM advertising dollars. I'm confident in saying that she would not survive professionally outside of that niche. She doesn't conduct interviews well, she displays very little intelligence and intellectual curiosity. She is good at commiving and plotting and going for the throat when she thinks she is wronged, I will give her that. Why can she never resist a snide comeback on social media? She is incredibly thin-skinned for someone who fronts like she is all that. Never rises above, always is the street fighter. She could not do what Carson did and he would have refused to do what she does. Way too often she makes the interviews about her and Carson all the time made the interviews about his guests. The first week Carson had a guest lineup comparable to hers he would've said "I will be playing tennis until this is corrected. You know where to find me." The first week she had a guest lineup comparable to his she would pee down her leg, on stage. Apples, oranges. Not even close to the same, unless $$$ is the measuring stick. Nothing to be particularly proud of, in the grand scheme of things. Karnak the Great, anyone? Hey-o! Just a small example of satire and wit and timely, on-the-money punch lines vs caressing and stroking stick arms while humble bragging about how bad Baby Daddy wanted me last night. Ptooey. -
OK, from what I picked up tonight in a few places it pertains only to former employees who signed NDAs as part of closing out their employment. (Anyone, please correct me if that's wrong. TIA There's a paragraph in Ronan's book where Weinstein, appealing for Andy Lack to help a bro out, repeatedly mentioned "It was the '90s" but Lack wasn't biting. After the third '90s reference and a "We all did it" for good measure - there was a long silence and then Lack said "I'll look into it." Am I the only one who gets a little tingle up the leg from wondering whether there might be NDAs containing Joey's name? Just me, huh? OK.

He was at this stage in his delusions when he was packed off for treatment in 2016. Same time of the year also. That tour began in November and screeched to a halt in December. Sometimes delusions trigger, incubate and hatch according to an inner calendar which repeats and repeats, without successful intervention. (Seasons, holidays, anniversaries of life events, etc. Among the mentally ill, Christianity is the sect with the highest occurance of religious delusions). -
From this point forward, or retroactively as well?

Thanks to all who responded. Sometimes I wonder if I'm being too harsh because that bunch is like a burr under my saddle. It feels good to know that my judgement is being validated by COLs - whose opinions I greatly respect!

Wondering what the COLs think about this situation: Some kids in my family attend a charter school and IMO the parents have gone off the deep end. The kids are in 6th grade, 5th grade, 2nd grade and one is in kindergarten. The parents wanted the two oldest to be in a memorizing contest for 8th graders and they were allowed to participate. They learned to recite the Preamble to the Constitition, the Gettysburg Address and the names of the US presidents in order. You can tell by the rushed delivery and lack of inflection that they don't comprehend the meaning of the Preamble and the Address. Because the parents asked for my input I said how about asking them to translate or define, in their own words, what they are reciting? Blank looks. Where is Gettysberg and why was Lincoln speaking there? Crickets. How about having them choose which president they admire most and explain why? Blank looks. I pretty quickly took the hint that what they were after was compliments, and only compliments. I gathered my courage and dug in my heels and said "Parrots recite and children learn. Are you raising parrots or children?" You coulda heard a pin drop and the temperature dropped about ten degrees. These parents also get up at 5:30 every morning to correct last night's homework before it gets turned in. (They proudly brought this up, I am not a mindreader and could not have known this on my own). I said "But they turn in their original homework, right? Not the corrected, perfect, A+ version?" Blank looks. I said "Homework tells a teacher about a student's progress and comprehension and study habits. Turning in corrected homework skews the picture the teacher sees." Crickets. IMO, these parents act like they are competing in the Perfect Child/Perfect Parent Olympics and actual learning be damned. I think nagging and insisting that the 8th grade contest be opened up to 5th and 6th graders falls under demanding special treatment for MY special kid. Or am I all wrong here? PS: To round out the picture, yes, they are religious fanatics.

Live With Kelly And Mark - General Discussion

She said gramma sends each kid $20 for Halloween. She wants the little people to swallow that his $20 will keep the lights on. She called those who dared to call bullshit on her anecdote "a pack of fools." She's a nervy fuckin' bitch. She also said she's used to taking a lot of slack from the public. What she should have said was a lot of flak (incoming fire). Who is really the fool here? -

When he snaps someday and "sacrifices" them I don"t wanna hear "We had no idea." -
I missed that but I guess it explains "Quit Playin' Games With My Heart" in today's bumper music. I was like WTH, the BSB? Someone's being entirely too hip, LOL.
-
She has five parents and all of them, either collectively or individually, are as valuable as a boot full of warm spit.
-
My bad. I just saw the first minute of the show during the third hour rerun. I'll see your wedding photos and raise you two former presidents was superficially acknowledged before shifting into baseball mode.

IA but I'm also getting off on how miserable they look. Mika is working hard to control her breathing (and keep her eyes open) in the frigid air. She is trying So Hard not to shiver. LOL

This was announced 10 hours ago. We are 110 minutes into today's show and it hasn't been mentioned. Curses. Foiled again. https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/md-politics/obama-to-speak-at-cummingss-funeral-in-baltimore-on-friday/2019/10/23/834ed058-f600-11e9-a285-882a8e386a96_story.html

It sounds like one of those fortunate situations that is of mutual benefit to the patient and to the healers.

" ... they intend to profit from his death?" Yep. Mostly by pandering to black voters. "Keep Your Eyes On The Prize." We underestimate them if we assume they're too dumb to play chess.

Brava to your entire post, neona!

He keeps her on a leash because he knows what she's capable of when her husband isn't around. (If she did it to him she'll do it to me).

Three customized sex dolls from the Fall/Winter 2019 catalog. The one on the right costs a bit more because the eyes can be positioned to glance from the side. -
Now THAT wath funny!

As I expected, it was impossible to salute Mr Cummings and all that he accomplished and stood for without a tie-in to them, them, them - while prominently displaying their piety and devotion to 'merican values. Did Joe's first wedding take place in the National Archives? It did not. How about his second wedding? Nope. His deep and abiding reverence for the foundation of our representative democracy just happened to surface for his third wedding to his adulterous paramour, Beltway Barbie. A work in progress, indeed. If the NA wedding photos are not prominently displayed during his next run for elective office, I will eat your shorts.

ITA. I don't care for her, never have. I saw one of her movies when it came out because I enjoyed the book Rosemary's Baby. I thought the feverish adopting of so many kids (let alone the fact that nearly all had disabilities) was something akin to hoarding. Let alone betraying her friend Dory Previn by having an affair with her husband Andre, and getting pregnant. Which I think lends credence to the possibility that she would not find it difficult to betray Woody with Frank.

If you read Catch and Kill you will see the stringent standards that were imposed on him in addition to the stringent standards he imposed on himself. "Hey, your boy Ronan is doing a story on me. About the nineties and stuff." [Lack suggested Weinstein try (Phil) Griffin]. "Andy, it was the nineties. You know? Did I go out with an assistant or two that I shouldn't have, did I sleep with one or two of them, sure." [Lack said nothing]. "It was the nineties, Andy," Weinstein repeated. This seemed, for Weinstein, an important point of exculpation. And then, with a note of menace: "We all did that." There was a pause before Andy Lack said, "Harvey, say no more. We'll look into it." Willing to bet that Kody hasn't had a 9 to 5 job since the first time he had a 9 to 5 job.
