  1. Another drawback of ignoring most of the characters in this episode is that I didn't get any reaction from Hodges to his idol returning. I mean, I was anticipating his reaction more than Sara's. Then again, it's clear they were not very concerned with making us laugh in this episode.
  2. I just wish it hadn't focused so much on Grissom and Sara's relationship. They threw DB and the Willows ladies a bone, but everybody else was less than an afterthought. Poor Brass, a character with such a terribly eventful life and he's an ignominious footnote in the finale.
  3. No offense to Bailey, but not picking Dr. Perfect is why Grey + Sloan will never be #1 again. Can Amelia just shack up with Owen already? The three "sisters" thing just isn't going to work for me. And I realized that I don't really enjoy Meredith and Maggie together unless Alex and Callie are with them. I kind of hate that they made Alex a fat kid for us to pity him even more. I liked it when he had to grow up just so he could fight off his dad and I think Alex being your stereotypical bully works better as a backstory.
  4. I think this is the pitfall of assuming that every type of character needs to evolve in the same way. When people talk about characters evolving, it's usually becoming more mature and becoming a "good person," but evolution of a character can be anything from maturing to turning into a caricature. With Sheldon, they're constantly at war with making him too sensitive or too insensitive. My point, i guess, is that I think it was a mistake to push Sheldon along the path of maturing. He actually started somewhat mature and then became more of a caricature as his popularity with the viewers skyrocketed. To now go in the opposite direction in service of a relationship causes all these problems where it pisses off either the people who like Sheldon as a laugh machine or the people who want him to be a good boyfriend. Either way, Sheldon loses his essence and the show as a whole suffers.
  5. Yeah, if they want to browbeat me into getting on board with Haley/Andy, the worst thing they could do is insert Dylan into the mix. I love that goofy moron just too damn much. And just watch Dylan's V-neck business turn into a huge success as soon as Haley dumps him. Dylan will be a shark on Shark Tank by the time the show ends.
  6. When did they get their clutches on James Harden? Kylie has a long way to go to be a Kardashian. She can't even play the rich, black, entertainer/athlete sugar daddy game right. Tyga? I mean, the Hump outclasses this guy in both looks and financial prospects and he was a scrub compared to the others. Khloe is swinging for the fences with James Harden.
  7. Is giving a degenerate gambler a poker chip to remind him of his sobriety supposed to be a test or something? Christine might very well be the happiest little girl in the world and being part of a broken home has only seemed to make her more cheerful. It's almost sickening.
  8. Because she can see over the steering wheel? I think it's cute whenever Khloe makes attempts to hang with the Jenners during outdoor activities. She's just as nonathletic as all her Kardashian kin, but at least she cares enough to try. So were Malika and Kim's trained monkey on the trip to make Khloe and Kim look good by comparison? Someone flies me on a private jet to a luxury resort for free and I'll gladly sleep in the bathtub and shine all their shoes at night. Gee, a family trip without Kris or Bruce and Scott is having a grand old time? What are the odds?
  9. The same exact thing was done at the end of the first season finale, which is why I didn't make anything of it. It'll likely be done at the end of next season, too.
  10. I don't know why Ariel would feel bad about Alex's supposed ugliness compared to Haley when she gets more attention for her looks in real life than Sarah Hyland does. Did anybody else think that Horatio Sanz was giving Alex the thumbs up for a reason that had nothing to do with Mitchell's scrapbook? It's probably for the best to leave that scene vague if they were indeed going for that.
  11. Yeah, too bad she's latched onto a pervert. I keep wondering how things would be different if this show never existed. It seems like, aside from everybody being richer, the only one who has truly benefited in terms of personal well-being is Kendall (and maybe Bruce, if he would have otherwise kept living his lie). Even that is suspect if she is engaging in the typical vices associated with being an international fashion model. Everyone else seems either wholly corrupted or is Kourtney.
  12. The fact that the show explicitly pointed out that Andy is a copy of Phil makes it gross to me that they keep pushing Andy and Haley. What's worse is that Haley was made aware of this as well and was similarly grossed out. Why they had to do that before they went this way is beyond me. This whole will-they-or-won't-they thing is scraping the ground underneath the barrel. Aside from that nonsense, I thought it was good. Horatio Sanz having no lines makes me laugh all by itself and the Phil stuff was great in spite of Community already dialing that bit up to 11. I want to see Mitchell and Spencer hanging out some more next season. Mitchell hanging out in the park is one of the few times I have found him to be truly endearing.
  13. Bailey's about due to have another tantrum, and what better way of achieving that than having her friends pick an outsider over her? I definitely believe she will be chief by the end of the series though. If Meredith is to eventually develop another love interest, I think the "outside candidate" is as good a bet as any. There are no viable options amongst the current cast.
  14. Poor Arizona, she's about to be living with three small children and she doesn't even know it. Just watch, one of those little devils will steal her leg. I'm honestly surprised that Meredith will be selling the dream house. It seems like such a slap in the face to Derek. I guess they need the set space for Alex and Jo's warehouse. Speaking of the new digs, please give it a unique look, set designers. Outside of the frat house and the Bailey/Warren household, every damn (non-mobile) home looks the same.
  15. Something I think might be worth touching on near the end of the series (whenever that is) is the possibility of killing off Nikki Heat and how Beckett would react to that. I feel like, as Beckett advances professionally, the Castle/Beckett working relationship changing will necessitate some sort of change for Nikki Heat. Either Castle kills her off or he goes the political thriller route and turns her into the female Jack Ryan. I guess I'd like to see Beckett act possessive about Nikki.
  16. As an aficionado of pre-90s television, Adam should have known immediately that Seattle is a land of permanent exile. When I saw a shot of an airport during the If You Leave montage I half expected Adam to pull a Seth Cohen and chase Dana to the airport. Is anyone else baffled by how Barry isn't the most popular guy in school? His numerous successful exploits would usually lead to popularity. I guess it comes down to his horrible personality.
  17. Castle and Beckett to go on their real honeymoon. This must of course involve solving a murder, since they are the couple version of Jessica Fletcher. Everybody gets dressed up more often. It feels like Castle and Beckett got dressed up for special occasions far more often when they weren't a couple than they have after becoming a couple. And my number one wish: Castle finally gets his revenge that he vowed in The Lives of Others.
  18. I kept thinking how disappointed his hero Grissom would be. I swear, when Castle said "what kind of son doesn't check on his own mother" right into the camera, I thought that it was going to turn out that Martha was going to be a victim or roped into the finale cliffhanger.
  19. Yeah, I can barely handle the notion of her becoming captain, since the show would lose most of what makes it great if she was stuck in an office all the time. Running for political office would be even worse. I'd sooner believe those goons from "The Party" were setting Beckett up for something -- maybe old cronies of Bracken seeking revenge -- than I would them being legit and getting permission to do something like that. For a moment I thought they were going to tell her they were vetting her to become chief of police, but that's maybe even more ridiculous. I'm kinda surprised they didn't throw a pregnancy announcement or Castle venturing into writing serious stuff at the end there. They seemed to be going for the word of Joshua Gomez as far as Caskett;s future is concerned.
  20. She could always fire Jackson from the board and make him chief. I hope not though, because Jackson has the weakest personality of the whole cast and it's a chore to find him believable when giving out orders. I figure Catherine will have to take over the head of the board if she marries Richard. He's not going to Boston and Catherine seems like she couldn't handle not being the boss of everybody.
  21. I think the only way it makes sense is if he bought the ring back when they first negotiated the relationship agreement, with the thought that he'd one day have to propose as part of any future renegotiation. Now that Amy appears to be backing out, Sheldon has a ring with no purpose.
  22. I was thinking the exact same thing as he was saying it. I had such an ambivalent reaction to this episode. It was both emblematic of everything I hate about the direction this show has been going in the last 5 years, while at the same time making me laugh more than any episode in recent memory. This episode served as reminder that I should never invest in a sitcom about a group of friends in their twenties. For all the wonderful shenanigans that such setups produce, they all invariably destroy the lovely group dynamic for boring couplings in the interest of realistic aging process. And I wouldn't mind that too terribly much in this case if they hadn't struck comedy gold with Sheldon, only to proceed to strip anyway his uniqueness bit-by-bit in favor of yet another coupling in a show chock-full of them. They took this show's legacy character and are proceeding to make him utterly mundane.
  23. So does Arizona live in the frat house anymore? Alex saying he didn't need to clear Meredith and three incredibly young children moving into the house with Jo sure says a lot. I love that the Chief has so much faith in Bailey, but I can't imagine many worse candidates for chief of surgery. Bailey has so many damn mental breakdowns that she's a disaster waiting to happen. Of course, the same could be said for Hunt and they all seem to think he was fine, so what do I know. God, Alex sure was right about these new interns, they're bigger messes than he was. Asian intern is the worst but the guy she was talking to in front of pregnant lady should have been fired on his first day. I guess Seattle Grace got better quality candidates since it was supposed to be the best back then. I take it Maggie's perfect parents are getting a divorce.
  24. It seems like Grey's is directed by actors more often than by people who are directors by trade. I wonder what Kevin McKidd and Chandra Wilson's reputations are as directors. I never wondered until now how they're going to get around Catherine living in Boston and Richard living in Seattle. Maybe Mama Avery will usurp her son. The Chief certainly isn't leaving, and I have a hard time imagining her not being the boss of everybody.
