  1. He could contact his real family. He's given the impression in the past that they still depend on him for more than just money.
  2. It's amusing to me that a big reason why she's apparently so open with Alex is also why he and Meredith became friends, yet Meredith and Amelia have such a hostile relationship.
  3. Catherine can't read too good if she thinks all these screw-ups resulted from poor instruction. They are nearly all resulting from rampant fraternization that the hospital already briefly - and halfheartedly - tried to curtail. Catherine is even guilty of it herself. Maybe she reconsidered her position on Alex when she discovered how Shane butchered Alex's dad and Alex was gracious enough not to sue. It bothers me that Alex has become the hospital saint to everybody this season while still showing no apparent remorse for what he did. Although it seems weird to see DeLuca be all, "he's the bad guy" while Alex has become more decent than he's ever been. Ugh, with that speech to Pierce, they are either turning Leah into another Perfect Penny or there's some hidden vendetta angle. By the way, I think we're safe from any chance of Meredith and Alex having sex as long as she's acting like his mommy the way she was at the beginning of the episode. I know that's a bit of a leap of faith after the whole Gizzie fiasco, but I'm counting on Shonda having learned something from that.
  4. How will it go over with Catherine that Alex is her granddaughter's doctor?
  5. It was predictable, but at least they threw us a little bit of a curve by having Granny June actually survive. Bailey having her "Day of Joy" ruined by a selfish old bitty was not at all what I was expecting. I laughed at the notion that everybody in Seattle apparently has air conditioning. These Hollywood folks have gone far too long without visiting.
  6. Funniest, most delusional line of the night. Megan. Of course, he and Meredith must see this thing through all the angst and anger from Maggie, but Megan can show up as soon as things get comfortable (read: boring). Shonda wisdom dictates that Meredith and Christina are eternal soulmates. Maggie's mostly a comedic character, so she's stuck with her vagina monologues when she's not hooking up with randoms. Cross was about her speed before he was Hahn'd.
  7. I've always thought Bailey and Meredith were Shonda's wish fulfillment characters the way seemingly every available hunky guy pines after them. I'm surprised Dead Denny hasn't made a move on one of them. Speaking of Dead Denny... I wish Bailey would have acknowledged that extra layer of torture in Alex's punishment. Cristina was their Asian AND Jewish doctor. It was like bizarro world tokenism.
  8. I feel like Callie considers whoever she's with to be her greatest love. George wasn't exactly a footnote in her love life. She really loved him. Heck, Mark might qualify even though they were never in a relationship. They were soulmates in the same way Meredith and Cristina are -- with sex benefits.
  9. Remember when Thursday at 8 on ABC was a graveyard? I think that her other shows are hot garbage but the Grey's juggernaut is all the proof you need for why Shonda Rhimes has become to ABC what Dick Wolf is to NBC.
  10. Disclaimer: Please forgive me ahead of time for pointlessly questioning the timeline and events associated with time passing. Shouldn't Stephanie and Jo be wearing the dark blue scrubs now? They were both fifth-years in the season premiere and April went through a whole pregnancy in less than half a season, so didn't a year pass by now? I'm not even going to get into the fact that they never seemed at all concerned about the boards or applying for fellowships or anything because I know nobody really cares.
  11. Yeah, Arizona's compromise was stupider than Callie wanting to chase tail to New York in the first place. Two happy moms? Sure, but one likely messed up and unhappy Sofia if she's changing schools every damn year. I was surprisingly moved by Ben and Bailey in this episode. I usually roll my eyes at them. The only thing that bothered me about Jo and Alex was the silly ending. I liked how Alex really took Owen's words about the benefit of the doubt to heart. Ellen was killing me with all her crazy facial expressions in this episode. Meredith was actually funny and not at all the bitch she's been for a lot of this season.
  12. Is it too much to hope to see Callie kidnap Sofia in the finale? I guess that's more the kind of crazy thing they'd do on Private Practice or Scandal.
  13. I'm beginning to wonder if Meredith is being set up to lose all her roommates in the finale. For better or worse, this "sisters" experiment is a major theme of season 12 and it would make sense to wrap it up by Meredith effectively ruining it. She's had a rocky relationship with Amelia all season and last episode was pretty rough. Now Maggie has been set up to have a flirtation and possible crush on Riggs, only for Meredith to swoop in with her angry sex in the parking lot.
  14. Easy. She lived in a sedan and he lived in a van down by the river.
  15. Amelia and Owen deciding to get married, followed by Meredith suddenly going for it with Riggs, has me more convinced than ever that Megan is going to bust in on the wedding. It's all set up for maximum chaos at this exact moment. Oh Grey's, shame on you for thinking you could fool us with your silly Maggie/Riggs fake-out. I might actually believe Alex and Jo were really splitzville if this had happened next week. I guess the resurrection of Callie's likeability started tonight with Arizona acting like a smug asshole in every scene. Arizona's justified in acting that way, sure, but her characterization this week was in stark contrast to the saintly portrayal last week.
  16. Callie is probably second only to Meredith on the list of Shonda's favorites while Arizona gets the same amount of focus as the male characters on this show, so it's not really a question of Arizona receiving the same amount of support as she wouldn't be in that position in the first place.
  17. That was more a case of Mark taking offense to Arizona calling him a sperm donor by calling her a nothing. After Sofia was born, they were all pretty much on board with the modern family scheme. Of course, it wasn't until the plane crash that Arizona stopped resenting Mark's permanent presence in Callie's life, but that didn't seem to play much of a role when it came to Sofia.
  18. I didn't find it all that surprising that Callie's lawyer was more cutthroat than Arizona's. Callie had the disadvantage going in that she'd have to get the judge to agree that moving Sofia to the other side of the country and basically cutting Arizona out of her life was somehow a reasonable request. The only way this can possibly be accomplished is by making Arizona look unfit compared to Callie.
  19. All I could think was that all this stupid hullabaloo was over Penny. Penny. It was pretty obvious from the start that things were going to go Arizona's way, but I still didn't really believe it until Meredith said "spoiler alert." Arizona has been portrayed as the wronged party from the start of this dumb storyline, so it's not like this outcome wasn't telegraphed. I agree though that Callie winning would have made sense in order to make everything dramatic as possible. Maybe she would have if Capshaw wasn't about ready to pop. I imagine it was a bit easier to use Ramirez for big scenes when doing these last few episodes. Most of the courtroom stuff just made me roll my eyes. Owen was laying it on so thick that it made me want to barf. Meredith was condescending as hell until the lawyer turned the tables on her. Bailey came off like a pamphlet from a Sheryl Sandberg lecture. Penny was Penny. Callie's waterworks felt more rehearsed than sincere. Arizona getting to defend herself so freely and make a speech about what was truly important at that moment made it clear that the deck was stacked. I hope this show never does a courtroom episode ever again.
  20. I wasn't surprised Meredith instantly sided with Callie. If anybody can sympathize with uprooting your entire life and the life of your child on a stupid, selfish whim, it's Meredith. I was more surprised that Hunt instantly chose a side and that Alex didn't. Why was Callie upset that he didn't choose her side? Him not siding with Arizona is a win for Callie. Seriously, Arizona is like his back-up Meredith and all Callie ever really did for him was have sex with him once. And why the hell didn't Arizona go to Bailey? Bailey clearly thinks Callie is certifiable right now. Speaking of Bailey, it struck me as odd that Maggie was claiming that the only reason Ben wasn't fired is because his wife is the boss when it was she, Maggie, that gave the recommendation that he shouldn't have been punished at all and Bailey said that was pretty much the only reason he wasn't fired. Maybe they got that out of the way now because his sister is going to magically appear soon. And at least there was no mention of that stupid Riggs/Megan BS in this episode. I wish Penny had been running interference on Arizona because then she wouldn't be the Saint Penny the Perfect this stupid show continued to push on us with her last scene. GAH! I've never hated a character this much. I'd take ten seasons of Gizzie + Dead Denny threesomes over her.
  21. I bet it's somehow Jayden Smith's influence. That guy is looney tunes and they hang out in the same circles even if they aren't attached at the hip anymore.
  22. Meredith has to be that way for their sexual tension to evolve in future episodes.
  23. Meredith and Riggs are sooo gonna do it.... Owen's surely temporary hatred is what will serve to keep it from seeming too rushed. It seems to me that the only one who's the real turd in the Meredith - Penny showdown is Callie, poor thing. It's like the crash lawsuit all over again with her getting over zealous about something that doesn't directly involve her.
  24. I figure we were to assume it also came from Camp Lemonnier, but that's still way out of range for a helicopter. Central Africa isn't exactly teeming with US military bases. I agree about Jeanne. From her first appearance, I've found her to be completely bland and thus I was always eager to be rid of her. This episode was good in spite of her and I have no interest in revisiting that relationship ever again. I was a little surprised by how mellow Abby acted considering the Ziva intervention she had for Tony when Keats showed up.
  25. Haha, Booth almost died in MacLaren's.
