  1. Bryce was in Full Bars, the head jackass teenager that pee-ballooned kids during Hell Hunt. I actually felt Tina was being kind of mean in this episode. Maybe I'm just seeing it from the younger sister's perspective, but I thought she was being condescending and hurtful to Louise, while Louise was more on the defensive. hat not-as-pretty competitive side of her has been showing more this season, like during the battle for best gift for Bob. I kind of like it -- I know Tina is the golden child of television right now but I'm feeling a little overdosed on her being awesome.

  3. You know something that cracks me up? I started watching this show from season 2, but I first bought the season 1 DVD. And I still remember in the features how the casting of Stefan was so hard that when they chose Paul Wesley, it really looked like they were settling for "good enough". Paul himself even joked about volunteering to personally be thrown out of a window while filming the pilot because he was afraid they were going to replace him. And yet now I have the distinct feeling that the actor TPTB probably had to fight hardest for is Paul. Because despite what early seasons seem to indicate, this show can't survive on Damon and Elena alone as the leads. I don't think it's a coincidence that he's being allowed to direct more and I also suspect he's earning significantly more than when he started. And I love that, because I always love stories about people who no one had confidence in turning out to be awesome. Toby Regbo on Reign is another one -- the CW didn't want him in the part of Francis and then he went and had such chemistry with Adelaide Kaine and became so popular that he derailed the entire triangle they had set out for the show from day one.
  4. Is it weird that I'm disappointed? I feel like the show has improved so much this season that they need to get out while the going's good. It would be nice to know if TPTB will know when they're writing a final season. Generally when shows know they're ending the final season can be awesome because they can do pretty much anything without having to worry about the long-term. The only other option is that they find out they're canceled and have to wrap everything up in at best three episodes.

  6. Did anyone else feel like Jessica Walter was having a really bad cold when she recorded the first scene where Malory calls Archer? Her voice didn't sound right to me, especially when coming through the phone. I also thought Aisha Tyler might have been having some voice trouble when they recorded this episode, although it's not particularly obvious.
  7. Clip from the episode! http://youtu.be/3Q4VIJzwcYI
  8. I went through older episodes to see the other Belchers writing (Linda was the hardest to find for me), and they're all right-handed. So it looks like Tina being a southpaw is intentional!
  9. He's not cloned from Edmund Burke, he just quoted the man. Krieger is cloned from Hitler (well, possibly). I really hope it's not a sign that we did in fact lose the original Krieger and this is one of the other clones, but it seemed conspicuous to me that he was in the hot tub and his hologram girlfriend/fiancee wasn't there....
  10. The KGB is still running right? I mean, last we heard. Although I suppose Barry might have just killed everyone there by now. Oh, I just remembered something: was the bloodstain on the office floor supposed to be a recreation of Brett's death, or was it cumulative from all the times he got shot before that?
  11. Just look at him. (Sorry, I had to. I wonder if Pocket-Sized Rudy is gonna show up again.)
  12. Has Tina always been left-handed? I noticed she was signing in with her left in "Midday Run". Will have to go examine scenes of her writing friend-fiction to see if that's consistent... (Checked it! She is a southpaw. I wonder if any of the other Belchers are left-handed, or if it's like on The Simpsons where everybody was left-handed at some point?)
  13. How about "Louise Ellis: Sweet and Nutty, Just Like Her Baked Goods"? I just remember when Nolan was first being told Louise was insane and his response that she was a sweetheart. I think she might genuinely be both.
  14. What I find fun about this situation is that lovers of both actors can still have them on the show -- presumably "Caleb", the body Kol is inhabiting, is an actual person -- and also a witch. Just kick Kol out and we have new possibilities. And that accent.
  15. Definitely wasn't explained in the show and I haven't read all the comics, but the general impression I've gotten from second-hand Word of God is that Aang's lifespan was reduced because of all the energy needed to keep him alive in the iceberg for a century. It's rather morbid, but I wonder what it was that finished him off...overextending himself in a fight or becoming ill or his heart just ceasing. All we know about how he died is that it wasn't while he was in the Avatar State.
  16. I'm getting tired of all the menfolk (save poor Daniel) suddenly deciding that Emily is some fragile flower who must be protected from everyone including herself at all costs. I'd like to see her snap at some point and go off to her father (at least) about exactly what she's capable of. And I'd like to see her do it in a way that leaves him and anyone else with his idiotic philosophy with absolutely no illusions about how she does not need to be "handled".
  17. Bryan's original storyboards for the last scene: Gotta say I think this is a very rare moment that the animation didn't do the storyboards justice. It's so subtle, but the expression on Korra's face here is amazing.
  18. Nick.com has an "Evolution of Korra" video up that's mostly just a recap of her storylines. But it got me thinking about something that I loved in her design evolution. Korra goes from 17 (?) to about 21 over the course of the series. It's amazing how those years can change a girl, and not even necessarily physical change. I was the same height and weight at 17 and 21, but by the latter age I had grown out my hair, lost my braces and started dressing like an adult. I feel like Korra's design made her so much prettier in Book 4. I mean, the hair is the obvious part, but also her new water-tribe outfit seemed more elegant to me (something about the arms, I think). And finally, I really really REALLY love the contrast between formal!Korra in book one and formal!Korra in book four: In this gif from Book 1, I thought Korra looked just plain awkward out of her fighting gear. (And her hair decoration is just not flattering at all.) Whereas at the wedding in Book 4, well, Vavavoom! Just love the updo, the sleeves (and shoulders!) and the pendant. This is a girl who overall really grew into her own skin over the series. I think it's a nice illustration of how she moved away from defining herself almost entirely by her bending and explored more aspects of herself, even the superficial ones.
  19. Two more promos! This one has more footage from the new season: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n966TKO5sL0 And this is one of their more abstract advertisements: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jg4kz4LpxMc I am loving the symbolism in that second one, how everything seems aimed at Paige. Also, does anyone else think that Henry looks like he's grown a foot or so?
  20. For me, I can't for the life of me see any romantic chemistry between Damon and Bonnie. But what I did see was far more of a sibling-like dynamic, with Damon as the kind of mean but overprotective older sibling and Bonnie as the exasperated younger sibling who sometimes enjoys teasing the older. What I would love to see is Stefan being jealous of their bond when she finally gets back.
  21. And the cherry on top would be her part in a conspiracy to usurp the English throne that ended with her losing her head! If I understand correctly, she came up with a secret code that went straight in the hands of Elizabeth's spymaster, no? And then she used that code to put her compliance with the act in writing. She was...yeah, she was a bad queen. Objectively speaking. Her life was a string of bad decisions, each following the other up to the executioners block.
  22. The ride's almost over, folks! According to Bryan himself, the series finale will air on Nick.com on Thursday, December 18th at Midnight Eastern / 9:00pm Pacific, which means it should be up there a little earlier than any other sources! Episode descriptions from imdb.com. Day of the Colossus: The Last Stand:
