  1. It's so odd how that has remained a secret since so many people know about it. I'm still impressed that Billy told Lily because he didn't have to. Lily could have remained blissfully unaware how much she needs to keep Mattie away from him. But maybe Billy'd rather Lily had already heard it from him in case someone does spill the beans. That moment will become a scandal of huge proportions and likely put Billy's life in danger when Nick and Victor find out. Fun times!
  2. For once Ashland closed the door before he started having one of his top secret phone calls. Progress? I'm with Billy <shudder>, why was Phyllis attending an Abbott family meeting? She's not family and she's not even an in-law at this point. Doesn't she have a hotel to run? ๐Ÿคจ Victor, stop being such a drama queen and cough it up about Ashland. Nick is a busy man. He's got coffee to drink and empandas to eat, and he doesn't have time to dilly dally around while you're dragging out the big reveal. ๐Ÿ˜‘ Did Phyllis have to be so snotty about Jack choosing her to accompany him to L.A.? I'm amazed Traci didn't chew her out. Guess they really are galpals now. Sure. ๐Ÿ™„ The way Nikki was shining Ashland on was a thing of beauty to me. And again, I think Billy's right to be suspicious of whatever Jack is being pulled into regarding Keemo's death. For all Jack knows he might be walking into a helter skelter situation at that texted address. Meanwhile, are those the Four Horsemen riding through yonder clouds? Feeling compelled to give props to Billy has to be one of the first signs of the Apocalypse. ๐Ÿคฏ Sure hope Phyllis packed her nice lingerie because I see grief sex her future. California-style. Poor Jack. Meh, Victor, you're not so smart. Most of us Preverts figured out Ashland's scheme months ago. ๐Ÿ˜
  3. Not as far as Y&R is concerned but they're okay otherwise it seems. From SON: Victoria Rowell Returns to CBS After 15-Year Absence, Books a Recurring Role on Drama โ€˜Good Samโ€™ From the article: The backstage scuttlebutt is that a couple of the Y&R vets have threatened to quit if VR is ever brought back. That seems to include making any references to Dru at all, in dialogue or in mere photos. (In fairness though, whenever Dru has been mentioned in the past, VR has gone on social media claiming it means Dru is returning. Then she'd threaten to sue when she wasn't. Maybe TPTB don't want to get on that merry-go-round again.)
  4. "What's Left of the Mind of Billy Abbott." Heh, guess he does have some self-awareness because whatever he's got inside his cavernous skull has to be running on fumes. But still, who cares about Billy's thoughts? He is the definition of vapid. ๐Ÿ™„ Jill's expectations wrt to Lily as CEO must've been quite low if Lily has greatly exceeded them. That bar was set below the earth's crust. FFS, Billy, lay off the coffee, take some melatonin before bed, and shut up. ๐Ÿ˜ Since when is Phyllis an expert on grief? I'll give her credit though for keeping Jack focused on right now instead of the past. Those mysterious text messages and their sender need to be dealt with because that's some straight up mindfcukery. Amanda and Imani are going to be bucking heads within in a month, I bet. Amanda has divided loyalties between her job and her man but Imani has no such issues. Oy, someone needs to clue Imani in about sitting on Lily and Billy's nasty couch. ๐Ÿคฎ Lily, you are completely full of yourself. You don't own CI, you're just an employee. Meanwhile, Devon does own HWG. If you and CI ever part ways Devon's company will still be owned by Jill and CI. THAT IS NOT A GOOD DEAL FOR HIM. Gah, I just want to slap you. Whoo boy, Lily was pissed with a capital P that Devon turned her down. Wonder if she'll up the ante and use CI to wage some kind of sideways competitive attack on HWG? (And Show, miss me with Lily using Neil as an excuse. Stop trying to pin every baseless plot point on his ghost. ๐Ÿคจ)
  5. They might not be insufferable yet. Seems to me they're growing more and more self-entitled by the episode. They just cover it up by painting their moves as being "for the greater good." Problem is, who gets to define what the greater good is? Is it whatever helps Taylor build their billion dollar war chest?
  6. Wow, is Kate that tall or is Dave extremely short? When they met, Sackler towered over her like she was a little kid. Something about Scooter's nephew still rubs me the wrong way. Too smarmy for no apparent reason. But it looks like Prince and Scooter are planning to hand the company over to him at some point when they both exit it. Ugh. Prince was likened to a female high school teacher seducing her male student and getting away with it because the kid's not going to complain. Creepy comparison. Of course the goody two-shoes athlete investor had some dirt on him but I was thinking it would turn out to be steroids. "Woke Spartacus." Oh, Taylor, no. Can a boss actually refuse to accept their employee's resignation? And do it in such a patronizing way? He and Wendy were treating Kate like she was a grade schooler who got her Barbie lunchbox stolen. There's a fan theory afloat that after Prince pulls off the Olympics in NYC he's going to run for president. If that happens my eyes will roll right out of my head and make a break for the freeway. ๐Ÿ™„ It wasn't just social media though. Things were coming to light about his background which could've gotten law enforcement interest. Social media was just the gateway.
  7. Heh, Gloria was wearing Tommy out. Got him all dehydrated. Wait, Paulie works for a drug dealer and his son's not only an addict he's living on the street? Yikes. Good thing I hit up the googles because I was thinking Yardies were going to be college kids. Nope. Jamaicans. TMW you watch your old lover confront your new one. Messy. What's Glo doing because it has to be more than just making Vic jealous. JP's father is a riot. Herman knows what's up and you better sit still while he tells you. Serbians. Oh boy. Nice use of Tommy's history though. Was JP really thinking he could confront those gun-toting little gangstas with a baseball bat? He was lucky one of them was his long-last son, who seems to have a conscience. (Good casting on D-Mac, too. He's got the family chin.) ๐ŸŽถLiliana 'n' Jenard, sittin' in a tree...๐ŸŽถ ๐Ÿคฏ And now you're dead, Tatiana. You made the classic Bond villain mistake: talking too much instead of just getting right to the killing. What are the odds though that what Tommy and Vic did was captured on a security camera in the area? This show is getting better and better. Even though I love Raq on Book III, Tommy and Book IV have moved up to #1 in my Power Book rankings.
  8. Fauci hooking up with Saweetie was funny to me. Did Candice Bergen always have such a prominent chin? Meanwhile, I didn't realize Elliott Gould was still alive. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Ditto comments upthread, maybe they should upgrade it to the Ten Timers Club. Most of those older Five Timers likely wouldn't make it. Well AFAIC that WU was a waste of time. No guest commentators? Oh, so they needed to shave time off WU to do that weird NYC musical. Meh. I'm giving this one a thumbs sideways and am looking forward to hot piece Oscar Isaac next week.
  9. S5E1 Negotiating with the CIA to pay you more for the cocaine you're selling for them. Craziness. But at least Saint figured out a way to get back the $15M that he had stolen from him last season. So were those the first Air Jordans that dumb kid got his broken foot for? Sigh, the beginning of whole different kind of addiction, for many people who could afford it the least. (Third show I've seen in the past week which had Nikes as a plot point. What's that all about?) And then suburban White cokehead kids started trying to act gangsta, holding their guns sideways. ๐Ÿ™„ I don't get why Grady didn't recognize Reed. The meter reader disguise wasn't all that great IMO. So there's a new sheriff in town. A dirty one. A phone sex business set up like a regular office with desks and phones with multiple extensions. Heh. I barely recognized Wanda at first. She looked good with some more weight on her. Thad, you messed up bad. You too, Rob, for telling him too much. Apparently Rob knew he was going to have to kill the kid. And that he had also become too much of a liability for Franklin. He got one last pipe hit for the road, as it were. S5E2 Reed lowkey blackmailing the CIA to get back inside. What makes him so sure they won't just take him out? I dunno, something about Franklin's baby mama Veronique seems mercenary to me. He better have a tight prenup if they get married. And does he know for sure she's pregnant? She might have a timely "miscarriage" after he puts all that money and real estate away her and the alleged baby. Grady vs Reed. Yeah, right. Grady was a coked up idiot who apparently didn't know who he was dealing with. Reed does not play. Good on Skully for turning Wanda down. She absolutely does not need to risk getting back into the crack and prostitution life. So Reed's gone, now he's just Teddy. Hmmm. Looked like Franklin was thinking about calling him dead.
  10. Saru and T'Rina's slow burn is starting to bore me. Get in there, Saru! Well, as soon as things calm down... What really surprised me though is to learn that Tarka's motivation all along has been to find the one who got away.
  11. Yeah, is Jill going to be cool with a lot of the stuff Lily's been doing lately? However, I didn't get the impression Devon was willing to merge his company with CI. Why would he want to lose control of his business like that, and pretty much hand it over to Jill? I think he and Lily are only going to be creating a podcast production entity, which will involve a part of HWG and a part of CI. Okay, I think this is a valid interpretation of Devon's behavior but I'm failing to see the problem. If Abby were taking this approach with him it seems to me the Devon haters would be okay with it if it meant Devon didn't get what he wants. I'd actually like to see Devon and Billy in a poker game because AFAIC Devon is hella good at bluffing and no one ever calls him on it. Abby certainly has the resources to step to Devon so she should do it if she has a problem with the way things are playing out wrt Dominic. Maybe after Chance starts getting therapy he'll be strong enough to back her up. Otherwise, I'm fine with the current co-parenting arrangement between Abby, Chance, and Devon. I don't at all see Abby or Chance as victims or Devon as a big bad bully. He's just one guy and he's not omnipotent.
  12. Cosby sues NBC and Dick Wolf for defamation in 3...2...1...๐Ÿ˜‰ Funny how King's wife acted kind of like Claire Huxtable. She had some of Claire's speech pattern and facial expressions. Wonder if that was a directing choice? About 20 minutes in I figured the story on King's murder would turn out to be a Murder on the Orient Express scenario with several of the rape victims having participated in causing his death. Oops, missed on that guess. I'll never understand why people toss their murder weapons in dumpsters. Why not throw them in the Hudson River like the mob guys do? Yeah, in what universe can you confess to murder and then just go home and get on with your life? I think Nicole was tragically naive and should've kept her mouth shut except to say, "Lawyer" even though they hadn't mirandized her yet. Hugh Dancy stays being gorgeous and his American accent is impeccable. Maybe his wife will get to do a guest star role at some point if she isn't too busy. I'm glad this series is back but this wasn't a great start to the reboot, IMO. There was an air of trying too hard, with the deliberate drawing of political lines. Hopefully things will calm down as it gets its footing back.
  13. Hey, it's the Abbott Mansion. I was starting to wonder if we'd ever see it again. Quite an outfit on Abby today. Suede thigh-high skinny boots, painted-on jeans, bare shoulder. She looked to me like she was about to go hit a happy hour instead of pacing around the house worrying about her sick baby. It takes a village to raise Dominic, huh? ๐Ÿ˜ Again, why is Ashland having loud phone conversations about his secrets right in Victoria's office? With the door open? For someone who's supposed to be such a master manipulator and schemer, he sure does make dumb mistakes. Nate really seems to like purple neckties. He wears one almost every day. Victoria looking at Ashland like, "This isn't what I signed up for! You were supposed to die after NE swallowed your company! I don't wanna share my toys! Wah!" Co-CEO. Sure, that's just until Ashland manages to push Victoria off the roof of Newman Tower. Accidentally, of course. Then he'll finally own it all, bwah hah hah! ๐Ÿ˜‰ So Keemo's dead. How cruel of someone to play games with Jack via those text messages instead of just telling him the awful news. Elena said she supports Nate's decision 100% but she didn't seem totally convinced to me. ๐Ÿค” That was quite a touching moment at the end between Ashland and Victoria. Too bad it was total b.s. on his part. Bring the pain, Ash! "All hell is about to break loose." Okay, get on with it, Show! February sweeps is almost over. Gah. ๐Ÿฅฑ
  14. "Mrs. Charley Telphy A. Fox." That's a mouthful. Johan has put on some weight, I think. His face looked fuller. Well the Starbucks product placement couldn't have been more awkward. Junior was pointedly holding the cup in a way to make sure the logo was visible. Nobody holds their coffee like that. ๐Ÿ™„ UO I guess but Beat It as your wedding dance song? No. Just no. I have a feeling this entire season--if not the entire series--will turn out to be someone's dream. Maybe Devante's? Yeah, she's looked like that for a while now. But I saw her recently on a talk show and it appeared that she'd had the fillers in her cheeks removed. Shocked me for second because I had gotten used to her chipmunk face. ๐Ÿ˜ผ
  15. What was up with Adam's ill-fitting suit of many layers? If he's going to be seen with Sally he's going to have to look sharp, not like he bought his clothes out of the reminders bin at the dollar store. Oy, Nate sat on Lily and Billy's nasty couch. Hope he's current on his shots. ๐Ÿฅต Billy keeps trying to tell Ashland about himself and Ashland keeps laughing in his face. There's a saying about doing the same thing over and over yet expecting a different result. Someone needs to buy Billy the t-shirt. See, Sally, that's why you need to stop running your mouth so much. You just gave Victoria a way to get between you and Adam. To her it looks like you're using him for your own ambitions, whether you are or not and whether you realize it or not. ๐Ÿ˜ More goofy boots. I thought Lily looked like she wrapped pink aluminum foil around her feet and ankles, and then glued on a stiletto heel. And then there was Victoria in a sleeveless dress despite there being snow outside. Brrr. When Jill handed the CI reins over to Lily I wonder if she had any idea Lily would turn it into a Winters/Hastings/Hamilton employment hub? Lily will have her entire extended family working there before the end of spring. She learned it from the best though because Neil did the same thing when he was CEO of Jabot. Looks like Ashland's chickens are coming home to roost. And then get shish-kebabbed by TGVN. ๐Ÿค  If seeing Victoria get her face cracked into a million tiny pieces is the price we have to pay for losing Ashland then so be it. AFAIC she's long overdue for some huge humiliation. Huge. ๐Ÿ˜
  16. Heh, Phyllis desperately wanted Traci to be impressed with her elite hacker skilz but Traci wasn't fazed. I guess Phyllis doesn't grasp the concept of wanting to have plausible deniability. ๐Ÿ˜ Keemo should at least be in his late 40s now, no? I think playing text message games would seem rather juvenile on his part if he's the one sending them to Jack. Glad to hear Victor has a driver and he isn't running around alone at night after knocking back the booze. Especially at his age. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ Crystal must've had the day off at the Gnarly Pablum. There was another woman in the infamous green dress walking around in the background. Clomping around, actually. She seemed to have a problem with her shoes. Traci: I always thought that Keemo's mother Luan was the most significant love of Jack's life. Phyllis: the most significant? Um... Traci: yes, the most. Did I stutter? Phyllis: weeellll, I was a pretty meaningful love of Jack's life too. Just sayin'. Traci: of course you were, Phyllis. Right up until you cheated on him with my other brother and tried to steal our family's company. Phyllis: <gulp> Nate doesn't have to bring his medical bag to examine a recuperating patient? Even if the patient is a baby it seems to me like he'd need some basic medical tools and supplies. ๐Ÿค” Jack taking fatherhood advice from Victor of all people. WTAF. Victor still thinks it's okay to pull bad stuff on his kids because as far as he's concerned, they'll get over it. Ugh. You'd almost be better off consulting Sharon, Jack. ๐Ÿ™„
  17. More casting news from Soap Hub, regarding a character widely speculated to be Jack's granddaughter via his son Keemo. General Hospital Alum Kelsey Wang Joins The Young and the Restless From the article: There seems to be a question of whether Allie will be paired romantically with Noah or with Moses. My money's on Noah since she's closer to his age and Noah is currently single. She'll debut in a couple of weeks.
  18. According to Soap Hub, the role of Summer Newman is being recasted. Young and the Restless Sends Out Casting Call For Summer Newman From the article: Posters on a couple of soap sites say the author of the article is a reliable reporter with industry insider status so it would seem the news is true. But OMG, one comment I've seen suggests the actress from B&B who plays Flo to replace HK. No. Just no.
  19. I love how the writers were lowkey making fun of Steffy's weddings on B&B through Tessa and Mariah's dialogue. I'm fairly certain horses, hot air balloons, and other stunts have been involved in Steffy's many marriage ceremonies. What was going on with Abby's face? There were some odd lumps and discolorations, and IMO the heavy application of her makeup accentuated the problem instead of covering it up. Oh hey, it's Traci. Wonder whose hiney she'll be climbing up this time? Was Summer calling from a storage closet? The show spared no expense setting up that blank background behind her with the one plastic plant. University of Chicago. Is Faith smart enough to get in there? Guess she'll be visiting the Ivy League schools too. ๐Ÿคฏ But if Faith goes to GCU I'm gonna laugh so hard. She could give a hoot about her carbon footprint after she's flown all over the country visiting campuses before she's even been accepted anywhere. ๐Ÿ˜ I see you Chance. Abby kept pleading with you to seek therapy but it wasn't until Devon brought it up that you finally decided to do it. Should Amanda be keeping her eye on you and her man? ๐Ÿ’• Whee, now Devon wants to move into Chancellor Mansion to be closer to Dom. Next he'll refuse to leave and declare squatter's rights. Then he'll sue to take ownership of the property because he's Kay's grandson and it's his birthright. Abby will kicked out to the curb but Devon will let Chance stay because they're bros now. The nightmare writes itself! ๐Ÿคก๐Ÿคก๐Ÿคก๐Ÿคก๐Ÿคก Shut up, Noah. Don't plan on having a career as a wedding planner. You were really no help at all and if Mariah and Tessa follow your advice their wedding will be a laughingstock. ๐Ÿ™„
  20. There wasn't an obvious one. I think however when Burr is mentioned these days most people's thoughts immediately go to Hamilton because it's the relatively current cultural reference that isn't tied to a particular time of year. Meh, I don't think much mojo is required to deploy reverse psychology. And it wasn't believable to me that Chuck Sr. didn't see through what she was doing; he wasn't born yesterday. But I guess Wendy correctly assessed the situation and found an effective solution which required minimal effort on her part.
  21. I think in both cases it was pure ego. Walter is dying and both his kids are trying to usurp his power before he's even in the grave. He wanted to show everybody he's still The Boss, with an extra side helping of racism. Diamond was still bristling from Jenard telling him he's not running the South Side drug game anymore, and after his decades in prison, the game has changed too much for him to handle. He wanted to negotiate a big, lucrative deal to reestablish his bona fides as CBI's leader. As far as Tommy is concerned, if he had succeeded in brokering the agreement between the Flynns and CBI, he would've been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize and possibly gotten a free trip to Norway later this year. ๐Ÿ˜ He sure is. It seems like this is the Power Book fans were most looking forward to because people really like Tommy/JS. Tariq is widely loathed as a precocious brat and I still don't understand why he merited his own show.
  22. "...Aaron Burr's gun permit..." People are still making Hamilton jokes? The expert witness takedown was ridiculous to me. Who wouldn't know to put a lot more distance between themselves and bribery payments? Having the money sent to a spouse or a child would certainly not be far enough. What if Gov. Sweeny gets caught in a horrific scandal after Prince has put the guy's name on the Olympics stadium? Wendy using simple reverse psychology on Chuck Sr. Seriously? Wonder how much Nike paid for that product placement? One would think self-designated Good Guy Prince would have a problem with that company, on principle. Anyhoo, Nike's getting around because they were part of the main storyline on Black-ish last week. Interesting that three Black characters were suddenly front and center in this episode. But this show isn't known for subtlety I guess, not even during Black History Month. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  23. How was Marcus invincible to Father's taser stick thing? Adrenaline? Mother was like, "My snake baby! You've grown so much since I last saw you!" Whole lot of lying and deception going on in this episode. Okay, things went a little Mad Max meets Game of Thrones when Father fought that android gladiator. Only Father didn't turn out like Oberyn Martell did. ๐Ÿ˜ I almost want to feel sorry for Paul. Almost.
  24. I'm hardly knowledgeable about guns and bullets but wouldn't it depend on the caliber and type of bullet? I think there are bullets which are specifically made not to pass through the body or whatever reasonably solid thing they're aimed at. Otherwise, maybe it's another one of those things handwaved away by the writers. Quoting myself to say, it wasn't Tariq it was Lord Baelish on Game of Thrones. Baelish said chaos is a ladder, meaning he used it climb above the fray and take advantage of the momentary distraction.
  25. How long has Lilliana been in Chicago that she didn't know Ghost was dead? And how long has she been sitting on that stolen coke? "Stop frontin' like you know the difference between BLM and BET." Lol, Tommy is savage. Fat Tony ain't loyal. Let his guy Cokehead Colin take a bullet in the face. Must've been the keto. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Wonder why Tommy and Lilliana didn't run the coke around to the area universities? Too close to PBIII or would he have been encroaching on Flynn or CBI territory? Lol, Diamond was like, "This is my fist sending a message to your face, J." ๐Ÿฅด Alderman Liam was a straight up fool. How could it not have occurred to him that the Flynns would go after his family if he didn't stick with established arrangement? "Chaos creates opportunity." Didn't honor student Tariq already use that one on PBIII? ๐Ÿ™„ Meanwhile, who were those people taking photos of Tommy with the zoom lens? Enhanced diet pill drug shot down by the FDA, turned into a life of crime by a corrupt insider. Heh, Goliath already did that storyline, 50. Not sure if I trust Gloria. Tommy better not get sprung before he's sure she's not playing him against Vic. I think he really wanted a moment to tell Diamond to go eff himself in the most racist way possible without getting killed on the spot. He may not get many more opportunities if he's fading fast healthwise. Wow, I didn't pick up on their being FBI. They're not very good at their jobs if they are since Tommy possibly made them from his car. Anyhoo, even if they figure out who he is, perhaps they're after bigger fish, like the Flynns.
