Getting to Genoa You All Over Again: Y&R Daily Chat

Yeah I don't think they're married anymore but didn't they reconcile later because of their kid? No matter I guess because JG would just ignore that if he wanted to. -

Ditto comments upthread, KC's departure is likely going to be the end of all things Yellowstone-related for me. But I don't feel one way or another about McConaughey and seems like they're not calling him KC's replacement. (As if.) I remain surprised it took this long to pull him into the Yellowstone universe. Sheridan has to be a textbook example of running a good thing into the ground, what with all these ridiculous prequels and sequels. Even Dick Wolf isn't this bad. -

Right? I kept wondering if we're supposed to be hating Elena now that she's dumped Nate because IMO putting her with Nick the Neanderthal would be a punishment. Elena might want to be away from all Newmans right now, though it would be interesting if she decided to jump ship and go work for Adam as a medical podcaster. Isn't JT with Mac? -

Rachel Dolezal's colonizer cornrows. Black Lady Courtroom! Shemar Moore Legal School. Diploma says "Baby Girl." More inbred than a venison sandwich. Hateration in the bruncherie. This show overflows with pointed references. You probably have to watch an episode two or three times to catch them all. -
Name-checking Taylor Swift and Jay-Z. Look at L&O trying to be down with what the cool kids are putting down. Or their middle-aged mothers. Yep, Cosgrove should've been more aware he was potentially putting his daughter in a place where she'd be called to testify about things that were meant to be kept in confidence. Now at school she'll be known as a rat and she might be shunned even more as "not our kind." Unexpected to see Justina Machado playing an attorney. Good on her for trying not to get Hollywood typecast as the "spicy Latina." I think there's something to be said for families who train their kids to keep the dirty laundry inside the house. Those retreats couldn't have had the fully informed consent of all the parents because some of the parents would've feared that certain kinds of sharing by their kids could make them ripe for blackmail. Or worse. (I'm being a tad tongue-in-cheek here. Of course kids should tell someone if they're being abused at home. But they might want to be careful who they decide to tell or they could be putting themselves in more danger. Sadly though many kids may not realize this.) I figured she was paid off by the defendant's wealthy parents. As long as they were willing to subvert justice, they probably should've slid a few bucks to a couple of the jurors too.

The opening credits listed three other writers in addition to JG. Was some of this stuff written before JG fired everyone or are those writers not WGA members? Batten down the hatches! Once Connor finds out about his impending baby sister all bets are off as to how safe Sally will be. 𫨠Interesting how Sally beat around the bush at first instead of telling Nick right away that Victor had put a life-altering bribe on the table. Seems to me that would've been the first thing out of her mouth. Lily and Devon keep saying how proud Neil would be of them. So I guess part of this Neil deification stuff is to prop them, and presumably make them look better in Neil's reflected glory. Meh. Alrighty then, Sally did throw TGVN under the bus regarding the payoff he offered her. Odd Victor didn't make the deal contingent upon her not telling anyone, particularly Nick or Adam. Nick, have you met your father? Even if Sally refuses his bribe, he could have her disappeared and make it look like she did take the money and run. Then one day a brand new baby would show up out of the blue for someone in the Newman family to raise. π Lol, the look on Connor's face when he learned Adam was the daddy of Sally's baby. Right there with ya, Connor. Many of us are puzzled as to why Sally is with your uncle instead of your dad. Wait, what!?!!??! They said Dru's name! More than once! I'm verklempt! Re the previews: the man just gets finer with age. <swoon> -

I know that's right. It's so weird to me the way the show acts like Harrison doesn't have a biological mother. If they wanted to kill Tara off, all it would take is a line or two from Kyle or Chance. Say she was accidentally stabbed in a prison riot or whatever. Most of the plot developments are only told instead of shown now anyway. But hey, at least Summer has stopped referring to Harrison as her son every darned day. Mostly. π‘π‘π‘ Yeah, I'm fearing the same thing about Elena. I don't think Devon is an option for anyone but Abby at this point; Chance seems destined for Sharon or Summer; Adam is in love with Sally though technically he's single; Daniel will probably be kept with Lily; and, even if Nick sees the light and dumps Sally, Elena is likely a non-starter as far as he's concerned. For reasons. There's a whole thread elsewhere on PTV for that topic, which includes discussion of the royal tampon: HM King Charles III & HM Queen Camilla -
Apparently Hank doesn't quite know what the term "busting your nuts" means. Wonder how many times Sian Heder has been asked if she's related to Bill Hader? That moment where Gene shot his son on the porch, sight unseen, was sadly prescient. Poor Cristobal. After all he'd been through just to end up back in pretty much the same place, a virtual prison. I guess Hank knew they'd kill him, but ditto comments upthread, I wonder if Cristobal did. Perhaps he simply decided he'd rather be dead. I've been watching Dune this week (in 30-minute blocks instead of all at once so I can avoid falling asleep) and seeing those guys get sucked into the sand hit different. That scene didn't horrify me as much as it likely would've otherwise.

Okay, how did Elena find Nate and Victoria? She may have learned what hotel they'd be staying in but they could've been eating anywhere in L.A. Nate apparently has bad peripheral vision on top of his other failings. How did he not see Elena standing back there listening to him trying to keep Vikki on the hook? Of course Summer was defending her psycho mommy to Daniel. She simply parroted the self-serving story Phyllis had told her. By my calculations, StuporGirl has zero critical thinking skills. Aw yeah, Elena had time today! But gurrrlll, throwing water in Nate's face? Weak. You should've flipped the table in his lap and strutted out before the restaurant manager could call the cops. Summer, Diane didn't bring Stark to GC, Phyllis did. And Diane hasn't killed anyone--that we know of, anyway--so FOH with the false equivalency. I am so glad Daniel threw all the truths back in your dumb face. Diane's hair was looking pretty good for someone who was just released from lockup. Did she get a jailhouse blowout, lol? Shut up, Nate. Nobody is feeling sorry for your lying and cheating self. You should've taken some time to think before you screwed another woman, not after you were caught. Oy, I feel like Ashley and Tucker should not go to Neil's Memorial 2: Electric Boogaloo event together. Ashley was in a serious relationship with Neil when she first got with Tucker. AFAIC that karma is still bad. Do the right thing, Daniel, and do it before Phyllis shows up to talk you out of it. Because you know she will. -

PB's portral of Jack as a controlled, crisply-enunciating patrician began when he took over the role. Bill Bell hired him and Bell had plenty of years to tell PB to perform the role differently if that's not what he had in mind. I agree though that PB's been phoning it in lately, as many of the cast seem to be. IMO they're uninspired by or bored with the writing but they've still got bills to pay so they suck it up. Here's where I drop the reminder that there is a thread for Unpopular Opinions. This Daily Chat thread is supposed to be for discussion related to the specific episodes as they are broadcast in the U.S. -

Hmm, it didn't seem to me there was much question whether KC would return AFTER season 5. Right now I think it seems uncertain whether he'll finish season 5. Or if season 5 will even have a timely conclusion given the writers strike. Additionally, some key cast members have other projects they're also committed to so there may be too many time conflicts. I get the feeling that 99% of this mess is due to Sheridan being overextended with all the spinoffs. IMO there's no point in continuing the OG Yellowstone series now that its quality has declined so much. -

Sharon acted like she rarely sees Aria. They all live on the Newman ranch so you'd think they'd be visiting each other daily unless Aria is sick. Wait, what? Sigh, Mariah, Dominic is not your child. Clear your head on that issue or one day things will be real confusing for Aria. She shouldn't have feelings of sibling rivalry with Dom. Another chem test for Summer and Chance. Hmm. This might be turning into a "poop or get off the crapper" situation. I'm impressed at Lily's patience with Daniel. He keeps wanting to revisit the night they spent together and DTR. Since when is he so insecure? Now Chance is wondering if Summer was involved in Jeremy's death because she's too rattled to keep her mouth shut. Good job making your kid look like a potential accessory to a murder, Phyllis. Diane is allowed to have two visitors at the same time. Well heck, she should throw a party in the jail. They could have Mrs. Martinez bake a cake with a switchblade inside. π There was something odd to me about Christine's hair today. It didn't seem to move naturally. Was it a wig? Daniel, maybe your wackadoodle sister should be 5150'd. A little vacay for Summer in the loony bin might open the eyes of more people than you realize. Just sayin'. Whee, Jack went in! Yeah, Chance, a lot of us are wondering why the coffeehouse seems to be your office now. Do you ever go to the police station? -

The math works though, hah hah. The men connected via the Barber sisters and Neil are messy AF. At this point, when Faith graduates from college I wouldn't be surprised if Nate went after her too. Then he'd have the Neil/Devon/Moses' leftovers trifecta. (But before that happens, I want Elena to bag Moses so she can have Devon/Nate/Moses triple play.) Am happy to oblige. π₯³ -

Avocados aren't considered carbs, are they? I thought they were mostly fat. Whatever, shut up, Vikki. Avocado toast is old news, just like your cooch. Ugh, getting summoned by Victor Newman like a servant. I couldn't believe Sally agreed to drop everything to go meet with him. I just noticed today how big Summer's hands are. π Geez, where was J.T. videoconferencing from, a maintenance closet? This show is so cheap. Summer needs to tell Kyle what's actually going on with the alleged murder of her mommy. It's going to be bad when Kyle finds out she knew Phyllis was alive. Um, Elena, people do podcasts together from distanced locations all the time. J.T. doesn't need to come to GC. Audra's scheme to to use him to distract Victoria has holes. Yesterday one of the Abbotts mentioned that Traci had gone back to NYC because of the current vibes in the Abbott manse. You'd think Kyle would know his aunt wasn't at home. Good job with the dialogue continuity, J.G. π Babies love Nick? Lol, since when? It'll be funny if Sally's little girl starts screaming every time she sees Uncle Nicholas. "No, Mommy! I don't want to be stolen like my brother cousin Christian!" So Victoria's premise is that it's time for Nate to let go of all vestiges of his former life as a doctor, to include Dr. Elena. Sure, Nate, you should prefer a woman who didn't graduate from high school over an educated and skilled professional who saves lives. And who loves you. FOH. Elena, no! Unless you catch Nate and Victoria in flagrante delicto, what's the point of dropping in on them in L.A.? They'll just lie and make you look like a jealous fool. Victor is straight up offering to buy Sally's baby. This m.f.-er. Sally, the term you want to have handy is "human trafficking." Because what Grandpa Vic is trying to do is ILLEGAL! I think someone needs to remind Nate that as relatively young adults, Victoria and his Uncle Neil dated back in the day. He stays getting his male relatives' leftovers. -

Tucker playing Ashley's handmaiden. DO NOT WANT!!! And I'm surprised Mrs. Martinez let grungy Tucker root around in her kitchen. Jack was sporting a velour jacket. Ehhh, no wearing dead guys' clothes, please. Meanwhile, Billy has switched a lighter color and weight in his suit for the warmer seasons. I think his being better dressed than Jack is the first sign of the Apocalypse. "I can only imagine the things she'll be teaching him." OMG, Audra is cold-blooded. Now Elena won't be able to stop imagining Nate on top of Victoria as she's instructing him to go faster and deeper. Billy is now the voice of reason of Jabot and the Abbotts. How did this happen!???!!! But dang, Ashley wanting to kick Jack out of Jabot because of Diane is nucking futz. Luckily Billy is more attuned crazypants behavior since he's gotten back with Chelsea. π Elena, you're listening to your boyfriend's COO talk crap about him and call him a cheating liar. You have to see something is wrong with that picture. Even if what Audra is saying is true, it's hella inappropriate. Ashley referred to Jack's situation with Diane as a "fatal attraction," which in 2023 just happens to be the title of a new series on Paramount+. Nice in-house advertising, CBS. So Elena thinks Nate is fcuking Victoria because he wants more power. Nah, sis, he's just a straight up dog who could get fired for becoming a potential liability to NE's CEO. Let it play out. Okay, there's my guy Tucker back from the doldrums, grabbing Ashley's butt in public. Get you some, Ashley. I ain't mad atcha. π Aw, Elena. You need to dump Nate, not make a bigger mess by digging up trouble for your rival. J.T. is not someone you want to be nosing around willy-nilly. -
A Black Lady Sketch Show - General Discussion

Finally got caught up on this show. S3E1 A strict violation of the Ride or Die Code. The Three Wise Men rolled up like Montell Jordan. Why indeed would Mary Magdalene have 75 inches of hair? I continue to like how Omarion's willing to make fun of his image on this show. S3E2 Baptism dunk contest sponsored by Dunkin. Brilliant The What Up, I'm 3 character is reminiscent of this character Jonah Hill has played more than once on SNL. Wonder if Robin was inspired by it? S3E3 About 95% of the Curzoz contest stuff went right by me. I could barely understand what they were saying/singing/rapping. The ladies seem to have gone all in on it though. Why does Dr. Haddassah insist on calling herself a female? I just can't laugh at that. π‘ Loved Colman Domingo. Every time I see him interviewed on an actual talk show he's great. I'm glad this show is back. It's a welcome respite from real life stuff that is definitely not funny. But it seems to have the same problem as SNL, that is, letting some sketch run too long. Not quitting soon enough usually ends up killing the bit. -
No, the internet just made it easier for incivility to happen on a larger scale behind varying degrees of anonymity. Up until internet/world wide web/browsers/social media became available to the general public, incivility mostly happened on a local, interpersonal level. In certain parts of the country the local concurrences were pretty dire.

Lon O'Neill should've known better than to go visit Moss. Didn't Gene tell Lon about the brainwashing and intimidating stuff Moss does? But at least Lon's not dead, lol. When we saw Moss washing out his car trunk I figured he had used it to transport Lon's body somewhere to bury it. In a Rain Man scenario, which one does Fuches think is Dustin Hoffman's character, Barry or himself? That was an interesting hit. The assassins apparently knew the WITSEC people wouldn't be armed inside the prison. Good thing Barry figured out what was happening but will he be able to escape out of the prison during the ensuing chaos? (I guess some viewers are assuming he does escape but it didn't seem certain to me.)

E1 NoHo Hank's campy Mexican costume, lol. He is always so extra. And of course Cristobal is ready to jump back into criming. Importing sand would seem safer than bringing in drugs, though. But doesn't the Italian mafia still run construction-related grift? E2 Those prisoners were watching Yellowstone, a show about the biggest fictional crime family in Montana. Why would that be allowed? (Plus, Yellowstone streams on Paramount, one of HBO's competitors. Huh?) Guess Barry finally remembered that Fuches had been schmoozing and grooming him since he was a kid. The snitching ables got turned real quick and Fuches didn't see it coming. -

Heh, sure Tucker's gonna behave, Ashley. Behave all over your face. π Either Lauren overdid it with the Botox again or she was hella mad at Michael. Her jaws were so tight she could barely open her mouth. Yikes. Summer was still hanging around the park after seeing her psycho mommy? It was almost dark. Kyle must've been wondering where she was. Now Jack is spilling his guts to Billy. Ye gods. He and Kyle both need to find some guy pals because I don't think Biily is the one to be serving them wisdom and life advice. Oh boy, people will start thinking Summer has lost her marbles when she insists to them that Phyllis is alive. Maybe she and Phyllis will end up having matching mother-daughter straight jackets as they're taken to the loony bin. Hope Neil's jazz lounge has crow nuggets with honey mustard sauce on the menu. Lauren will eating a hot plateful courtesy of Michael when they find out what their nutbag BFF has done. Daniel is a good brother. He knows Summer is grieving but he's trying not to treat her like she's gone full-tilt bonkers. Good job burdening your kids, Phyllis. OMG, the Phyllis worship endless! Who asked for all those flashbacks of her and Jack? But wow, she looked so much better IMO with the short hair. Phyllis was right not to reveal herself to Daniel. He immediately grasped how things would play out once certain concerned parties know she's alive. Too bad Summer mostly got Nick's dimwitted genes and the reality of it all still hadn't sunk in. -

Problem is, Phyllis would still blame a brain tumor on Diane. She'd say the stress from Diane returning and taking over Phyllis' life caused it. KMN. That's nothing. Remember Victoria's wedding in Italy? Adam took his own private jet, the Newmans took their own jet, Jack and other Abbotts took the Jabot jet, Victoria and Ashland flew over on Ashland's jet (which then went back to GC to pick up the best man Nate and his date Elena). I think Lily flew commercial because she was arriving late. Anyhoo, it was ridiculous but the audience was supposed to be impressed that all these fancy people had their own jets, instead of revulsed at the bad carbon footprint of all those unnecessary separate flights. And the worse thing was that it wasn't the first time Victor had sicced a doppelgΓ€nger on Jack. During part of the Patty/Mary Jane mess I had to stop watching for a while because essentially Jack was being sexually assaulted but the show was playing like he was dumb for not knowing it was actually Patty. Yep, EB/Victor are held up as the face of the show. Now it looks like they're preparing to move MS/Phyllis into that slot, perhaps due to EB's health troubles. Ugh. I get the concept of a dark hero/heroine but, e.g., Walter White and Tony Soprano eventually got the ultimate punishment for their misdeeds. Only Don Draper came out on the upswing but at least he had realized the error of his ways and was making amends. Every time Victor and Phyllis get away with their crap it seems to empower them to continue doing bad things. Am curious why Audra = Meghan Markle. Please to be explaining? -

Oy, not a fan of Audra's hairstyle today. Looked like she slept on it while it was still wet and she didn't have time to hot roller it this morning. Phyllis and Summer meeting in a public place in broad daylight. But I guess that's better than them having drinks and appies at Neil's jazz lounge.π Why would Jeremy have exonerated Diane? The whole point of his scheme with Phyllis was to get revenge on Diane. Eh, Michael was talking nonsense. Nate: Elena, I'm going on a business trip to L.A. with my boss, Victoria. There's rumors we're going to be boinking like west coast bunnies on crack. Elena: is that so? Nate: yeah, but it'll only be for a few days. When I get back how about you and I go somewhere for a whole week? And I'll clean my junk beforehand so you won't even be able to tell it was recently inside another woman. Elena: do you ever listen yourself, Nate, or has the side part affected your cognitive abilities? Audra: messiness! Can I join in? It's my specialty! Those stank faces Summer was making as Phyllis was talking. OMG, did she eat bad clams for breakfast? Phyllis has now made Summer an accessory to murder. Good job, Red. Maybe when the truth all comes out you and she can have adjoining prison cells. A jailhouse wedding to Diane? No, Jackie. That won't seem desperate and suspicious at all. ππππ (I've seen one of those. It's cute.) -

Hey, it's Take Your Child to Work Day! Wonder if we'll get to see little Dominic helping to bus tables at Society? Or Harrison running around the Jabot building handing out mini-muffins made lovingly by Mrs. Martinez? Or Aria stopping by the Jabot CEO office to barf baby formula on Billy's three-piece suit? Or Nick patting Sally's belly in the NE CEO office? Oh wait, Adam will quietly call foul on that play. Meanwhile, Connor will glare at Sally as he calculates the location of the nearest dim stairwell... -

Looked like Adam's been working out. π Diane has stopped moping and decided to fight for her freedom. Good. Adam confronting Nate at Society was odd to me. Was it important for Nate to know who the father of Sally's baby is, or was the proud papa-to-be just running around bragging? Victor really wants to stir up shite between Victoria and Adam, again. But Adam didn't even know yet that daddy bought him McCall Unlimited. He may not appreciate having his own father treat him like a tool. Oh come on, a person who managed to fake her own death for decades is not stupid enough to buy murder poison with her own credit card. Yeah, there's nothing like having food at a recent crime scene to get those romantic juices flowing. π I think Neil's jazz lounge is becoming a shoehorned set which has to be used no matter how little sense it makes in the moment. Aw, Summer, your fantasy world is falling apart, huh? If Stark was Diane's co-conspirator and he died while she was in jail, there's a huge hole in the plot, sweetums. Nikki was certainly proud of the bright, sparkly fabric wrapped around the lower part of her body today. Meh. The only way the deck could've been better stacked against Diane is if Phyllis had used AI to imitate her voice. Then Phyllis could've had BotDiane leave a threatening voicemail instead a silly letter. Lol, I bet Sharon didn't want to walk out with Chance after their mini-date because she had to wait until her cooch cooled down. Crystal was in the background mumbling, "This sweaty cougar better leave me a huge tip." I'll never understand why Victor persists in believing Adam can't get a job unless it's at a place Victor controls. At least Adam knows better. Phyllis is straight up insane, as well as THE WORST PARENT EVER! I almost felt bad for Summer when she turned around and saw that psycho. Almost.
