  1. Sake, I created a General Discussion thread. You can't miss it. It's called "General Discussion: TFGH." Very apropos, wouldn't you agree?
  2. I think I credit this show for inspiring me to watch the many movies Mr. Steele referenced. I think this show still holds up very well, despite the lack of cell phones and what not. The disguises, how Remington and Laura investigated...how despite he blundered, clients and the public still thought of him as the AMAZING Remington Steele. Oh, and Pierce Brosnan was just oh, so very, very pretty. I think what I liked about this show, watching it as an adult years later, was how they didn't do the whole bullshit of will they/won't they? Because Laura and Remington certainly did! And I will never forgive the show for erasing that come season 2, or was it season 3? And don't get me started on the horridness that was "Season 5" or how they ended season 4. I already have a migraine right now, and can't afford to have my head explode.
  3. Mine too. I loved Laura. She was my hero. And as much as Remington was my first pre-teen crush, and he made my little heart pitter patter, he pissed me off whenever he took credit from Laura. Stephanie was just awesome. How she managed to run in those heels...the disguises she came up with...how she figured out who the bad guy was...and there was just something about how Stephanie played Laura, that made Laura this sophisticated person, yet...relatable.
  4. I did it! I did it! And it worked! My job is done. And after getting clarification about what small talk is versus general discussion, I posted same in CI's small talk as well.
  5. I totally stole the first part from TWoP, because, yeah, He's a TOTAL BAD ASS, Alpha, has a hot temper. And doesn't cotton to bullshit. The Hot temper got him into trouble many a time, but it was also used to force cooperation from other anal dickwads who refused to provide our guys with information they needed! What's a guy to do? Well, as Maggie (the uni) once told him, "So Go Light my fire." Don't know if he lit Maggie's fire, but he sure lit mine. Errr...this is a PG-13 thread, right?
  6. Yeah, it makes sense. I just hope it will be clear since we have like, two Law & Orders, heh. Okay, off to create a Mike Logan thread for the mothership!
  7. Okay, just got the clarification that this thread--small talk--is like the equivalent of the "meet market" from TWoP! You know, like personal stuff. Example: I used to work near Chamber Street, where a lot of the filming took place for CI! Might I suggest we create a General Discussion Thread, since we seem to be talking about different episodes at the same time? I know I'm all over the place, because I'm posting as I'm binge-watching the marathons.
  8. Starting this up since the Small Talk thread is really for us to discuss off topic stuff, meet and greet, personal lives, blah, lblah, blah. Here we can rant, wail, rage to our heart's content.
  9. You see? The disease that is Sonny Corinthos, also known as the m***** moobster has infected my fellow posters'! They're starting to type like him--meaning...I'm seeing typos abound! STOP THE MADNESS!!!!!! I've hated this character since DAY ONE. DAY ONE. I was never so happy as the day that he left and I thought I'd seen the last of him. But no. He had to just come back. Michael Corleone, he ain't. He so WISHES he were. And Maurice Bernard is a HORRIBLE actor.
  10. This? had me rolling. Still laughing here. Especially at the "Abondanza", though I feel that's insulting to the Celeste Pizza Nonna! Hee.
  11. So MUCH hate for this episode. Like I said before, this is 2014, NOT 1979!!!! Sue Ellen is a successful businesswoman in her own right. And sure, it's so believable that cops come over to take her away for a psych exam, and are totes okay with it, because she's drunk. In her own damn house! Not causing problems for anyone. At least in the original, when JR committed Sue Ellen, there was a pattern of behavior and witnesses to back it up. But oh noooo...just one blackmailed judge, with no proof can issue the order. John Ross should fired Candace's skanky ass, but nope. Just says no thank you, git along now, little doggie...I"ll sees ya at work tommora! And Elena can just STFU. One would think that she was aware that John Ross does nothing but cheat and is a cheater!cheater!cheater! Yeah? Then why did you saddle up with him for two years, you dumb bint? And the Ewings "took everything from you"? STFU Joaquim! So now it's gone from JR stole from her papi, to the Ewings stole EVERYTHING from Elena. Whatthefuckever. Did I miss something, or did the scene of Sue Ellen telling Emma about Kristen floating face down in the Ewing pool get cut? That is THE ONLY scene I'm looking forward to. Seems just like GH, I'm not allowed to have nice things on this show. I'm hoping Bobby can pull some favors and get Sue Ellen out. And it bears repeating: John Ross, you ain't no JR Ewin', just a little boy trying to play Daddy.
  12. boes!!!! You are the same boes that I see on Serial Drama, right? riiiiiight?!
  13. Kevin Conroy said this about Bats in the first season dvd interviews and I think he hit the nail on the head. Bruce Wayne "died" the night his parents were born and though he didn't know how he would avenge their deaths, that was the night that Batman was born. Thoughts? I love this take on Bats that Timm and company did, because he is what I've always envisioned Batman to be: Dark, moody, broody, a symbol of justice. And being as he is the only human hero, he honed his mind and body. He's the goddamn Batman! Love him. He's an arrogant asshole, but that's what I love about him!
  14. Efrem's portrayal of Alfred is my favorite. Because he was all things to a young orphaned Bruce: Father figure, mentor, valet, majordomo, and knows him best because he "diapered his bottom" so he "bloody well" does know him! Though he respected him, there was always a touch of irreverence in his performances, and I love that.
  15. This almost exactly what I posted over at TWoP. Except I forgot about the moobster whining part. Great minds and all that, Sake!
  16. We aren't that lucky. Sonny is, after all the "stah" of this show. Can't have him suffering now, can we?
  17. RAGE. SO.MUCHHATEANDRAGE!!!! Like I posted over on the other place, FUCK YOU, RON! FUCK.YOU. TO HELL AND BACK. I don't fucking care if this is a fake-out, because EVERYONE will still think he's dead. And I want this show cancelled and put out of its misery like last month. You watch, Ron'll give us the same bullshit of "this is the best thing everyone eventually agreed to do" like he did with Kimberly/Robin's exit.
  18. I was afraid for a few minutes that Finn was going to tell Alicia that it was Alicia's name that Will was trying to say, as he lay there dying. So glad I was spared that bit of soap opera dreckness.
  19. I really liked this as well, and hooyeah! Good to see Sam "Oh Boy" Beckett on my screen again, as well as CCH "Amanda Waller" Pounder. Sure, there were some plot holes, but so what. And damn, I missed the Paige Turco cameo! I was wondering why I didn't see her when I clearly saw her name in the credits. Must have happened when I got up to grab my dinner. Must re-watch.
  20. And yet, for all his whining that he is not his "faaaaaatherrrr!" this petulant punk is trying so very hard to be JR, act like JR, when he is NOT, nor ever will be or reach the awesomeness that was the original Magnificent Bastard J.R. Ewing. He lacks the gravitas, charm, cunning, scheming of his sire.
  21. Amazing. While Will's death and Kalinda and Diane's grief left me cold last week, this week, I was in tears. I could so relate to Finn's loopiness, as I've acted the same way when I was under drugs, some good drugs, after surgery. Though I'm glad that Will's angry call wasn't to Alicia, but that asshat Damian, I found myself rolling my eyes at the end of the episode. Really, Alicia? You really think that Will called to tell you he wanted you back? Maybe it was wishful thinking on her part; survivor's guilt, whatever, but it was so..I don't know, narcissistic? Loved, fucking loved Diane firing Klepper. I swear, that actor has always played murderers, rapists, quack doctors in all the years I've watched of Law & Orders, I shouldn't have been surprised he was an uber douche here. And really, again, I'm finding it hard to swallow that clients want to "think about" who will now be their lawyer when the one representing them from a good sized firm is killed suddenly. Fuck Klepper and I'm glad Diana shot him down. Ugh. David's tears had me in tears. I don't feel sorry for Jimmy. At the same time, again, rolling my eyes at all those cops asking him questions at the same time, while the guy is in tears, not coherent AND while his new (what the fuck?) lawyer is trying to stave them off. Did love Kalinda's "No, you're gonna have to live with this" and damn straight. I'm hoping that this will at least, please give me scenes with Alicia and Kalinda again. I don't know why I thought Kalinda was going to kiss Will before pulling that sheet over him.
  22. The Vegas one is The Case of the Defiant Daughter.
  23. I wish I could say, hey, this is one of my top favorite episodes! But I can't, because they're all so very good. What I liked about the series versus the movies, is that sometimes, you weren't sure whether Perry's client was innocent or not, even though you knew that they had to be innocent. In the movies, you already knew they weren't guilty. And considering that with the movies they had an extra hour or so, I find the series episodes, so much more substantive. I do like to squee when I see actors who became Hollywood movie stars--Robert Redford! Bette Davis! And of course all the actors that went on to become big soap opera stars in Days of Our Lives and General Hospital! Then there's Uncle Jesse from Dukes of Hazard, who showed up at least 7 times...Jock Ewing (Jim Best) from Dallas...about two or three times...I'm bummed that Larry Hagman never appeared. But Marion Ross did, as did Barbara Eden. Edited to add just because: But, watching the 13 movies I think it was, alongside with the classic television shows, I have to say the show comes out the winner. If only because, the movies had an extra hour, but both Paul, Junior and Ken, came off as buffoons to the AWESOMETACULAR that was the original Paul Drake, when it came to investigating and getting Perry the answers/information. Ken always seemed to fall for the killer or woman who wasn't available. But they always got bested except for the very end, when they, AHAH! got the one piece of evidence that Perry needed. Bah! I'll take Paul Senior over those two, and I LOVED Paul Junior, and barely tolerated Ken. It's also interesting that most of the cases took place in Colorado, instead of Los Angeles, like the original did. With one (from the group I saw) in New York, and one in Vegas (Defiant Daughter). I'll be honest--I fast forwarded every scene of Ken "investigating" and just soaked up all the Perry, Perry and Della scenes, heh. Speaking of buffoons--why did the movies also have to make the cops buffoons as well? If not buffoons, than stupid or not as smart as they should have been. I mean, Tragg annoyed me with his smirkiness sometimes, but he was smart; the few cops they had and yes, even the recurring McCeachin, came off stupid sometimes. In the original, it was only Hamilton that came off dumb most times, but not because he was dumb, but because he let Perry play him or manipulate him so often. But ultimately, they were both on the same side. I wonder why David Ogden Stiers didn't remain as the recurring D.A. I really liked him. I did giggle at how Don Galloway appeared in at least two of these movies--one as a General in the USAF and the other as a cop, if only for one scene. I wonder if any of the original writers were around when the movies were being made, because if so, they totally should have tried to get them to write for the movies. I really wish that the special that Bill Cosby did in late '93 after Raymond's passing had been on the collector's edition that has Perry Mason Returns. Sigh...
  24. Ohhhh, I see. The "Ahem" was me saying to get back on topic! I do that a lot. Sorry for confusing you. Gosh, I don't recall. Let me think on this. I think it was the Las Vegas one. Or maybe the one where they had to go to New York? One of the things I wish this show had done for the movies, was keep it in California. I didn't like that everything shifted to Colorado. Even though I LOVE Colorado.
