I didn't like this any better than last night's episode although I have to admit that the ending with the Trigger Twins did intrigue me for some reason. I wish we could've gotten a 5-minute sequence of Oliver just wailing on Diaz. I don't think I've ever been treated to this particular brand of Guggenheim special, where he pulls drama from a total retcon of events just an episode before, but he did write a great make up for Oliver and Felicity, and I'm glad that drama won't be following us into the hiatus. Not really a fan of Batwoman.

That happened to me last night.

You can. Last night's ep was a masterclass in comparison, LOL

Oliver went to prison without telling Felicity last season, as part of a deal with the FBI to catch the season long big bad. He escaped but Oliver still went to prison, and Felicity and his son went into witness protection, where the guy found them and tried to kill them. Felicity became obsessed with finding him and killing him and nearly did, when she was talked out of it in order to exchange Oliver's freedom for him. After he got out Oliver realized that Felicity had gotten obsessed with security (because she had a villain try and kill her while she was on her own with his kid), and she pulled a gun and shot someone who broke into their home into the shoulder, and he doesn't like it.

But...Iris only believed Barry when he told her something only he would know - until then she didn't believe him? Ah, the 'ol Guggenheim special.

I love retcons from episodes that have only aired the night before!

I can't imagine him ever giving enough of a shit about Queen Consolidated to even bother trying to convince anyone it was above board.

The reddit poster indicated it was because they were worried about her drugging both of them-like Iris did Oliver-because they don't want another meta prison situation with the two of them locked up. Which I think is as good an explanation as we can get in this mess, especially since there's precedent with Felicity, LOL.

I’m pretty sure it was because they wanted the visual of Oliver and Barry in each other’s suits. That makes for better marketing than a full-on body swap.

Yes, I understand how this works, thank you! Arrow managed to get a whole reception for Oliver and Felicity okayed, so I assume Flash could've managed a simple scene if they'd wanted to. But maybe they didn't want to. I personally don't care—I don't watch Flash or care about Barry and Iris—I was just responding to a comment about The Flash writers lashing out about the whole double wedding that Greg Berlanti wanted instead of maybe doing something special for them on Flash to make up for it, that's all.

It works however the people writing the show want it to work. They come up with the ideas - if they’d wanted to fit in something for them, even if it didn’t take up the whole episode, they could have.
