Not just you. I think it's because we haven't gotten a ton of spoilers, and the ones we have gotten don't seem to be worth getting excited about (aka garbage). There seems to be a lot of apathy this off-season.

She directed Canary Cry.
-
If the season is bad, O/F having a good storyline is only a saving grace for those who care about them - and we have no idea what percentage of the audience that is.
-
There is historical evidence that a measurable chunk of the audience doesn't like discord between O&F, since there's a trend of ratings dropping in episodes following bad news for them. But I don't think it matters much throughout the course of the season if they're either on friendly terms and not antagonistic, or building back up to being a couple.

The Starling City Times: News and Media about Arrow
apinknightmare replied to Grammaeryn's topic in Arrow
He's always been pretty antagonistic toward Green Arrow comics fans with regards to the show - he knows how some of them feel about him - no sense in pretending, since it'd probably come off fake anyway. At least he's consistent here, which unfortunately cannot be said of his storytelling. -

His "facts" probably come from Reddit, since he mentioned it in the beginning. -

No! I was glad it ended the way it did. It could've gone other, dramatic ways, but it felt right. -

After our discussion last week about FiCoN starting to wind down, of course -
He didn't imply that he doesn't know what's going to happen - he implied that he does know, and that everyone needs to wait and see. And he can be media savvy all he wants - if he's been given a company line (which seems to be that Felicity and Oliver are friends, and how groundbreaking the show is to keep her on as his partner after a broken engagement! and neither one of the EPs has mentioned anything at all hopeful about a reconciliation) seems like he's probably going to stick with it.

I don't think he's trolling. It's a nicer way of saying "they're only going to really talk about the first couple of episodes until after the new season airs." They have been mentioning 5x05, but I think that's just to keep shippers invested in the face of some not-so-great news regarding O/F. For whatever reason I thought she would've been dating him for a while since I figured (assumed) that the boyfriend was just around mainly to provide a reason why O&F didn't get together over the summer, and that when MG mentioned that O/F had a conversation about their feelings over the summer, that dating was included. Since it wasn't, and WM mentioned that they hadn't discussed dating yet and that toes were going to be stepped on when it gets brought up it made me think that if it isn't new-new (as in starts in the first ep), it's new enough that Oliver still doesn't know about it yet. And it also made me think that the difficult moment for Olicity fans that MG was talking about wasn't necessarily a scene with Felicity and the boyfriend, but a talk about the boyfriend and dating - and that the dreaded "moving on" convo might be in the premiere.
-
I figured the dating stuff pretty much starts in the first ep since EBR said that she takes a shine to the guy pretty quickly. Seems like maybe it'll still be new then (if she doesn't wind up meeting him in the premiere) and the dating issues between O&F will get addressed shortly after, probably before 5x05?

The CW is one of the big 5.

The "it's up to you not to let me go" after the slap made me cringe, and I don't even care about her one way or another.
-
Yeah, I just saw that part. Guess everything's okay then, lol.

Anyone read this and know what's going on here? I'm guessing Dinah used herself as bait for something and Ollie (bleck) didn't know, and rescues her, therefore ruining whatever she had set up? Regardless. Seems super healthy! ETA: Never mind. I found the rest of it. Even healthier than I imagined!

I think it's Korean drama. -
Isn't it pretty likely that he does? MG told JBuffyAngel that there would be a scene in the first ep that would be difficult for Olicity fans to watch - if that's not involving her new boyfriend, not sure what else it could be?
-
Neat theory (although I'm probably in the minority that prefers Tommy dead) but I think the "stunt casting" part of that BI rules out Tommy returning. Colin Donnell has already played Tommy - that BI indicates it's a newly cast actor, not a returning one.
-
It seems to me like the writers are actively avoiding writing any kind of "moving on" convo, since MG said they had a conversation about where things stood between them over the hiatus. I think 5x05 could include some kind of "I love you but I still don't trust you" thing, or maybe it's something as simple as Felicity telling someone else she's still in love with Oliver (or something).

fixed it! ;)

I don't appreciate the implication that my comment has anything to do with her being female. I hope she does great and wasn't being 100% serious - she can only work with what she's given. Glad you aren't dreading it! I think it's okay if I am.
