It shouldn't be, but it's working. I will suffer through it for 62+ more games if the Nats keep winning.
  2. Is he showing off his daughter or his watch?
  3. Tuc Watkins has not aged since One Life to Live went off the air. David and Dorian forever.
  4. Ali Stroker sounded much better on this telecast than the cast recording I heard. Still not sure about this revival though.
  5. Babylon Bee seems to have multiple authors or has changed ownership since I started reading it. Some of the satire poking fun at mainline Christianity is hilarious, the skewers toward more fundamentalist groups is variable in its success. As for the books in Jeremy's office, it looks like he has several sets of commentaries. My husband also has these in his office. There are sets that have one volume for each book of the Bible, some that focus only on the New Testament, some only on the Gospels, etc. DH has been accumulating his books over 23 years of ministry but I don't think he has that many. Let me just say that I hope some of those were gifts, because otherwise Jeremy has spent a lot of money on books that he will rarely ever use.
  6. WTH is Katy Perry doing this tribute anyway? Kasey Musgraves was great and Miley understands that you let your godmother shine.
  7. My daughter just saw Janelle Monae "her head looks like a saltine cracker with peanut butter on top".
  8. Wondering if the audience was allowed a little more freedom because it was only the dress rehearsal? Maybe the audience agreement would have been different tonight.
  9. Having seen Vanessa since High School musical days, I have to say it is obvious she has put in the work to improve her vocals. I was really impressed with her in Grease (especially since she was doing it the day after her dad died) but Rizzo isn't a really vocally demanding role. This requires a lot of power and even in "rehearsal" she is really bringing it.
  10. Jason looked comfortable in his own skin and that showed in his performance. I'm liking this new maturity (almost looked sultry?). It really sets him apart from the other skaters, plus he looks effortless across the ice. Even if he doesn't have the jumps, I appreciate the artistry.
  11. Did you grow up in NC? Because if so, we probably toured together.

So is Osaka implying she doesn't think she earned it? Because she totally did. She outplayed Serena up until the craziness started. Serena looked slow in the first set and I really thought Osaka would win in two.

It took me a long time to come around to Serena after that Clijsters match. Not feeling too great about her right now. This is now disrespectful to Osaka.

This could get ugly. Admittedly, I have seen much more blatant coaching with no penalties. I was explaining the code violations to my daughter and had to describe the last point penalty I remember. Also at the US Open, also a Serena match, also an attempt for a woman to win a major after returning from childbirth.
  15. Lauren only took courses which would prepare her for nursing school. She did not take any actual nursing curriculum classes that include clinicals and would prepare her for the NCLEX. There are many 4 year schools which do not accept students into their nursing programs until their 3rd year so taking all the prerequisites at a community college which has a guaranteed entry program would be a big cost saver. If Lauren finished her AA in pre-nursing she did complete two semesters of anatomy and physiology and one semester of microbiology. These should be fairly challenging classes and she would need to actually study. Much above the level of the SOTDRT.
  16. It’s really the best choice to highlight their nominees but also include the majority of the cast. I saw it in DC and honestly felt Regina was the weakest link.
  17. For comparison, my husband’s alma mater is $24k per year for a 3 year MDiv. So I don’t think the tuition is totally out of range, but I don’t know anything about this program. Good for him for wanting to further his education.
  18. I joke that the best thing about nursing is that I get to wear pajamas to work. Love my scrubs! However I have seen a few nurses turning back to wearing skirts with their scrubs. One in particular was pretty fundy and she told me that the skirts were hard to find and were expensive. Hers were actually ankle length. She also used every bit of her vacation time on medical missions and did some amazing work in Haiti and in West Africa. We also have a nun who works in our hospital and she obviously wears a skirt with her habit. As a hospital nurse, it is a rare day that I don’t at least see a penis. Most days I have to touch them too. Jill would be horrified.
  19. I give her a Moulin Rouge pass since she’s Australian and there were no vocals.
  20. After watching the fluff piece on Medvedeva, I want her to get a new choreographer and do something fun. Let Zagitova be the baby ballerina and “skate while Russian” with the typical choreography. I don’t love Osmond’s Piaf but you can tell it’s something she loves. I enjoyed the Australian and Hungarian ladies because their personality was able to shine. I really think Medvedeva has something more to give and with her technical scores it could be amazing. #Free Evgenia
  21. Choi's program was truly lovely. I didn't catch the backstory during the team competition but what a motivation, especially in her home country.
  22. But somehow they seemed right for each skater. The Australian really sold the 40s vibe and the Hungarian sold the biker chick look. Liked them both.
  23. She wanted everyone to know she had switched to Switzerland.
  24. I figured she saw him as she was getting ready to jump and that's why she flubbed it. Or just freaked out because he was there.
