  1. Jenna Ushkowitz won a producing Tony for ONTI. And Alex should have been nominated. They were a highlight in a very great cast.
  2. My teenage daughter, while watching that performance, decided "Harry Styles needs a nap". That was underwhelming and overspangled.
  3. Were the kids related to any of the performers or the Gordys? I missed it but I realize the odds are high.
  4. Sandro's showstopper reminded me of Uncle Julio's signature dessert dessert piñata I actually think the "S'more" was a really good technical challenge but it needed to be framed differently, or possibly for a different theme. I wonder if they can't repeat challenges from the BBC years. Is there a possibility of copyright infringement or the UK equivalent?
  5. So glad that her mom is recovered enough that her dad doesn't need any help these days /sarcasm.
  6. Not always, but seems like a good average. As a mom of a child with epilepsy, I hope no one would fake this. And Carlin should have rescue medication if a seizure lasts more than 5 minutes (some MDs will say more than 2). My daughter's is administered between the cheek and gum. There is also a rectal option (not great for YouTube I would imagine). As an ICU RN, my trick for determining real seizure vs fake - pretend you are poking the patient in the eye. If they blink, probably not having a seizure. Or you can lift their hand over the face and drop it. If they're faking, they will make sure they miss their face. Seems mean, but it's a quick way to know if you need to go get medicine to break the seizure. This is very rarely a thing, but when its someone who is refusing discharge or wants "something to take the edge off" and we refuse and then all of a sudden they are shaking violently (and weirdly), its worth a test. (Inmates have a lot of "seizures" when they hear its time to go back to jail.) I will say we almost always err on the side of caution and treat and then order the EEG to confirm our suspicion.

My very unscientific theory is that Djoker has been able to win a lot of Australians because Roger and Rafa were still finishing rehab from pushing themselves through "their" tournaments and weren't in match shape yet. (And Murray of course had major injuries that took him out for long periods of time). Djoker is many things, but one of them is amazingly fit and that would help at the beginning of the season when many people are still getting ready.
  8. Just an FYI, if Carlin is having an extended EEG she is either doing it in the hospital or at home. Either way, she will be hooked up to scalp leads but she needs to spend the majority of the time in front of a camera (she'll love that!). The neurologists like to compare the EEG tracings to motor behavior captured on camera. It also helps to have a pulse monitor on as there is often an elevated heart rate during the seizure. A lot of good data also comes during sleep. However, no shower for the duration and she won't be able to fix her hair. Braids and button up shirts are your friends. When my daughter had a home EEG, they set up a camera in her room to see her bed and one in our living room so she could come out and watch TV and hang out with the family. The rest of us were all very picky about where we sat that weekend so we wouldn't be on camera!
  9. Per state code, persons with epilepsy cannot drive for a year in Tennessee. After seizures are controlled, they may apply for a license after 6 months. However, physicians aren't required to report to the DMV. My child had her first seizure at age 16 about 2 months after getting her license. She has never driven since, even though she is controlled. Too scared of hurting herself or someone else.
  10. Keep waiting. They just traded to the Saints at 16.
  11. Leah Marlene will never win this competition but she's a damn good musician.
  12. I'm a Carolina grad, my husband went to Duke. He has already started apologizing for his future behavior on Saturday night! LOL We won the title my freshman year. There were bonfires on Franklin Street. I found my roommate climbing up a light pole completely wasted. It was insane.

This is one of my arguments against the DH. If the pitcher has to hit, then his training alters just enough that it might save his shoulder and elbow from overuse. He has to run a little more so his stamina might be better. He has to be more than just an arm. But I am an old and grew up watching Maddox and Glavine who could actually hit. And I've very much enjoyed watching Scherzer at the plate in DC. Mad Max indeed.
  14. I want to hear him sing 'Old Man River' which will probably never happen on AI, but I can hope.
  15. Is everyone supposed to be country this year? Cause that what it seems like.
  16. My biggest problem with Johnny's ensemble is that he and Tara are dressed for two different climates. For all the "fashion", he looks like he is commentating on the Winter Olympics, while Tara is wearing her alternate choice for the Kentucky Derby.
  17. That costume reads Egyptian to me. I've seen it twice now and still can't quite figure out what he was going for.
  18. Keep the figures through juniors. That way the training is there and skills are built early, but the broadcast networks won't complain about boring competitions.
  19. I googled and found that P/G actually commissioned that cover of TLAWR. That's about as much as a choice as the moustache.
  20. With Kamila, the only thing I found fault with was the length of her skirt. It was a really awkward length somehow. Other than that, I've got nothing. Her first jump was amazing.
  21. Well, it is also known as the Ukrainian bell carol so at least she was showing some national spirit.... This "Sweet Dreams" medley is horrific. I had high hopes with the red hair as an homage to Annie Lennox but I was disappointed.

Mr. Djokovic might have a little more explaining to do The timing of his positive test is now being called into question.
  23. We will let families in for end of life COVID patients but once they leave the room they have to immediately leave the hospital. We try to limit the number of family members but that's not always possible. A lot of our patients who die from COVID are well beyond the initial contagion period anyway so they (and their families) aren't as much of a risk to the staff but its still something we think about. Luckily, I'm in a mask wearing area so no one gives us too much trouble about masking the entire time.
  24. While Arkansas's tax laws may be different, most church owned housing (or any other church owned property) is not subject to real estate/property taxes. I'm not sure what happens if a church has rental housing for non-pastoral staff. This is one of the arguments for why churches should lose their tax exempt status. (I disagree with this simply because the majority of small churches would have to choose between taxes and outreach work and communities would suffer. Obviously megachurches are different but that's a different conversation for another day.)
