  1. Yeah, not an Angelo fan. I finally finished Season 1. I like the $1 judgement actually. Like John said, it wasn't about the money, but now it will be on record forever that there was a judgement against the hospital. I think it's horseshit that Angelo got anything, but they needed a plot device, so there it was. It takes about 12 hours to get from KC to San Antonio, so that whole trip there and back was kind of ridiculous. I know I keep nitpicking this, but since I lived in KC for a bit, it's easier for me to pick at. Bay was so incerdibly stupid to take that money from the safe. Even for a teenager, that was STOOOOOPID. She does have amazing hair though. And she was such a waste of a character on Gilmore Girls, it's nice to see her actually shine as an actress. Oh Daphne. Naive, sweet, Daphne. I think so many people can relate to her thinking that she was going to have a relationship and a future with Jeff because she was just so enamored with him. Heartbreak sucks. Heartbreak really sucks when you are a teenager. She, also, has fabulous hair. On to season 2!
  2. I'm still not done with season 1, because these seasons are MASSIVE! I hate what Melody did to Bay by putting her in the middle of the custody thing. She had no right to do that. I know we have to suspend our disbelief in a lot of shows, but in my experience with kids and court systems, the girlfriend of the child means absolutely nothing to the court. Speaking of suspension of disbelief...seasons? Any? Fall? Winter? Anything? This drives me nuts when shows do this. I understand it is cheaper, but just set the show in California! I'm so sad about Wilke. I actually really liked him. He was like a poor man's Dick Casablancas (from Veronica Mars) but I liked hi, because he had more heart. Any particular reason he was written off? I think he and Daphne made a good couple and I don't think they had to be endgame or anything, but he could have stuck around longer.
  3. So the boys just left for the festival in St. Louis. Now I remember why I gave up on this show so long ago: I am a multitasker while watching TV and a show about deaf people does not lend itself well to this! I am going to keep going though, because it was nice to have a rewatch of Degrassi with you, @Scarlett45, so I'll do this too! I lived in KC for a year and my husband is a native, so there are some things about this that are driving me nuts. First of all, the weather. If they wanted this set in CA, they should have just done it. I'm wondering if we will get seasons. Supposedly it is October in the show but the trees are green and the boys just supposedly drove across the state in a convertible. I am feeling Bay with the "everyone loves Daphne" vibe. It does seem like things are all about her and Bay gets left out. Angelo is a creep, right? Something is up. From what Regina described, I did not picture this very well put together man. I know people can be in recovery and change, but I got the impression that he was an addict as well and it doesn't seem like we're getting any mention of this. Did I remember wrong?
  4. First cast in a long time where I haven't immediately hated at least one person! I'm sure some of them will annoy me and I have zero memory of some of them though. I haven't watched since the beginning and I cannot remember the first season I watched, so the flashbacks helped last night. There are TWO black women on the show, which is huge for BB. This cast is so much more diverse than past casts and I really hope it doesn't get automatically whittled down to young, attractive, white people. Let's see David run this game, he deserves to play it out. I remembered that Danielle was very thin on her first season, but looking back at those clips it is just painful to see how skinny she was. She's looking great now, motherhood has been wonderful to her.
  5. YES! I thought I was the only one who was getting gross vibes from Woody. He's trying to hard and fawning too much. Something isn't genuine with him and I don't like it.
  6. I started watching the first season of that show and then kind of lost track of it. I think that's something my brain could handle right now. I'll join you.
  7. *whisper* I actually like Last Exit. I need something else to rewatch for sure. I don't have the brainpower to start something new and teen based television that I have seen before seems exactly the speed I need right now. A friend of mine has been watching Alexa and Katie with her daughter and loves it, but I actually have to pay attention to it because I've never seen it before. Schitt's Creek has been my go to.
  8. I had forgotten about that line where they said they arrived at 2am. Thanks!
  9. I watched the Spring Break episiode the other day and the time spent driving doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I know they just said they were going to Florida and did not give a specific location, but it would have taken a long time to get from CT to FL, right? Even "shaving 3 hours off the mapquest time" would still have them driving for almost a full day, right? Just for fun I looked at New Haven to Daytona Beach and it is almost 17 hours.
  10. Oh my gosh, she WAS in Party of Five! I hadn't realized that! I'm sad that got cancelled too, it had a lot of potential.
  11. I finished last night. I forgot how much I liked Lola as a character. She was really intuitive about people for the most part and I don't think her friends gave her enough credit. Esme was a mess. They kept trying to say it was after they found Maya on the roof that she went downhill but she was a mess her entire time on the show. I wish we would have had more about her backstory other than just being told it. I realized that I wasn't as attached to these people at the end of the season when they graduated as I have been with previous classes. I'm not really sure why, other than I feel like we only had a few of them for the entirety of high school. The refugee storyline was current, but I think I would have felt more about these characters if the show would have gone on and we would have gotten to know them more.
  12. I liked Maya's hair better with the curls too. Also on the shallow bus...Craig Manning. Yum.
  13. I know for sure that there are women who would never identify as pro-choice until it happened to them. But it felt weird that the religious aspect wasn't even mentioned. And nothing by her mom either when she found out she was pregnant. On another note, I think the casting of Tiny and Vince was really spot on. They look like they could absolutely be brothers and their voices even have a similar quality to me.
  14. I wateched! Interestingly, I noted that the copyright at the end of the episode was 2018. Have they been sitting on these episodes that long? Or were these shown in Canada but not in the US until now?
  15. Something that bothered me when I first saw this and continued to bother me now on this rewatch...in what universe does Clare consider abortion? I know she had some sort of crisis of faith after her parents divorce, but she and the family were always written as very devout. She was VERY quick to jump to abortion and she never even brings up religion when talking about her choices. All of a sudden Clare is pro choice? I don't buy it.
  16. I feel like that is sort of the point. She doesn't realize how she and her beliefs are playing a role in this and adding to the lack of cosent and re traumatizing Zoe. I think this story line with Becky shows the most growth, possibly even more than her changing feelings about Adam. She really was naive and unable to see beyond herself and her own role in it, but she was able to see look beyond herself and her own feelings. Showing her putting those things all over the board and then gradually moving all the way to realizing that the sole person at fault for this was her brother was a great way to show her character growth. Her world got bigger and smaller at the same time. As cheesy as it may be, I absolutely loved the use of "Brave" on the soundtrack in this story. It was so fitting.
  17. Cam's suicide was one of the most well done storylines this show has had in a long time. I love that they never actually showed it or mentioned how it was done. It was great to show how many different reactions there can be to losing someone. And Olivia Sciven was amazing and heartbreaking during this episode. And a few episodes later when she finally breaks down and yells about how he broke up with her by killing himself...I had forgotten just how rough that was to watch. I know it's because I'm seriously binge watching these and not giving it as much time as it was when it was first shown, but Adam's death seems so soon after this one, and that one is rough to watch and get through as well for many of the same reasons: great character, brilliant acting by the people still left, and really good writing of the issue and the aftermath without being preachy.
  18. If I remember correctly from BB, not only was she a foremer beauty queen, but she kind of sold herself as "spoiled princess" from the jump. She grew up very wealthy and I seem to recall some into scene of her walking through an airport saying that she's used to always getting her way or something along those lines. She was off the chain tonight. Good grief.
  19. I have second hand embarrassment for him. I felt the same way watching him on Big Brother. He only won that show because people hated his competition more than him, but he thinks he did something amazing. This show will ruin her and I am mad about it. She was so low key on BB. She was competitive, kind, and an all around really good winner, playing politics without being mean. I hate that sh is on this show.
  20. This would have been a really good time for them to pull out a reference to the episode where DJ and Kimmy get way too made up for school in order to fit in, although I think that was them going to high school. That mirrored the situation way more than the revisionist story that they told about how DJ and Kimmy became friends. Maybe because Lori Laughlin played a big role in that episode in the past?
  21. Those two actors were really clearly having so much fun doing this scene! I feel like I have seen a lot of that this season, with the actors seeming to be letting go a little more and just enjoying themselves, probably because they knew this was the end.
  22. I could not stop watching Tommy Jr during the end scene when they were all singing at the diner. He's adorable and has a really outgoing personality! That kid is way more charming than the Olsen twins at that age.
  23. I didn't get that either. She just got to drop out of school and stay in London indefinitely? Doesn't sound like the Ashley we were familiar with. There was another reference about school that I thought was odd too, I think it was something about Sean failing the school year if he moved to another school or something. Is there some sort of Canadian rule that you have to spend the entire year at one place to get your credit?
  24. Josh is trying so hard to make himself relevant it is almost painful to watch. It's like watching the weird kid in a classroom actually try and make friends with the cool/mean kids who are just going to make fun of him when he walks away. Josh, just stop, for everyone's sake. I loved Kaycee on BB and I am so glad that so far, this show is not taking away everything good about her.
  25. I was finally able to watch Season 6 (thank you, free trial of YouTube TV) and then almost immediately started a rewatch. The pink dress that Alexis takes back from Twyla saying she doesn't know how that got in there...I'm almost certain it is the dress that she is wearing in the pilot when all of their things are being taken from their home. If it is, that's an incredible little nod and I'm sure done on purpose because Dan Levy is a damn genius.
