  1. I empathize with DeAngelo...hearing the other teams sharing and knowing that they had conspired against you all along must have sucked. He’s an athlete...when you pick a team you stick with the team, you don’t decide halfway through that you’re only going to work with part of your team. This season is full of unlikeable characters.
  2. Just finished this...what a bunch of unlikeable characters. I didn’t want any of them to succeed, and the whole Daria/Eric situation was just gross. Of course Harper the liar uses her agency (such as it is) to bring back a man who covered for her, but was abusive, over a woman who seemed to be on the ball and ready for change. My skin is still crawling.
  3. Just saw an episode of a new show...Home Again with the Fords. They did the living room, kitchen and mud room of an old Victorian house. It was stunningly beautiful, the kitchen was just gorgeous.
  4. I was CRYING laughing during the showstopper. This was just what I needed tonight.
  5. I stayed in an AirBnB in Plaza Major (they even showed the shop that the owners of the apartment owned), and it was great to have a central location, but it’s a really busy spot and I don’t think I’d like to live there full time. I think the apartment she chose was the right one.
  6. Eswar made it sound like their consistent 5th or 6th place performance was a choice "to be below the radar", but it was actually that they just weren't great racers. They made a lot of mistakes, and it seemed like they weren't so likeable that the Mine 5 really considered them a part of the alliance. And they are pretty dismissive of Gary and D'Angelo, who have been running a good, smart race, with some hiccups.
  7. I grew up in a house with 6 women and my dad, and one bathroom. We just had a rule that the bathroom was never used for makeup or drying your hair, you did that in your bedroom. We survived. 🙂
  8. Maybe Dave could have put on a button down and dress pants to officiate at a wedding? Just a thought. I loved the house this week, I would live there in a second (after I painted over the mural).
  9. I thought that couscous salad looked delicious, and I liked the plating. Flan is very rich, and they had a big meal, so I thought the size of the dessert was fine. I will say that these guests definitely aren’t the foodies they think they are...Whispering Angel as a fine wine? I don’t think so.
  10. Re: the meeting in 2002, I thought he would have been on staff at one of the Harvard hospitals, and he met her then. So he could be quite a bit older than her.
  11. Exactly what I thought...where’s the really fancy stove, and the double ovens? And the island had a big post on one side. Again, where do you put the TV? I just don’t understand her design decisions.
  12. I think Leo's Master's is in Public Health, from the Harvard School of Public Health, so it's a very analytical degree. Alana's was a Master's in Literature.
  13. Not even Harlequin romances...her step-grandmother was Barbara Cartland, who wrote icky novels about 18 year old virgins marrying 40 year old dukes.
  14. There was a new episode last night...does she know what mid-century modern is? That stairwell with the stained cheap pine was absolutely awful.
  15. I agree about the staggered departure times...they do seem like they punish the first place team. Love the idea of staggering them out of the airport!
  16. If they did WWII, they could make a tomato soup cake! Or war cake from WWI, or depression chocolate cake. There are a lot of no egg/no fat/no white sugar cakes out there. My grandmother made them all, and they were a lot better than they sound.
  17. I didn't see anything in that house that was "Nantucket"...the cedar shakes, maybe, but they need a few years to turn gray. The t-shirt made me tear up too.
  18. Well, there are if you’re shopping at Goodwill. I’m not surprised she wanted to move away from Mom.
  19. You don't have to point your feet, but you have to be conscious of them...flexed, pointed, something.
  20. I didn't know this, but as I was watching I was thinking it would be fun to have a season totally in the US...there are so many cool/beautiful places they could go to.
  21. I've been on vacation in yacht destinations, and I see plenty of passengers having lunch on shore...I think for these shows it's probably too difficult to set up filming...the restaurant would probably want to have most of their space bought by production, and bringing lights, cameras, etc. to get quality film of a 2 hour lunch is likely cost prohibitive. I think that's why they do those lame lunches on plazas in front of tourists.
  22. I feel like Len...Nelly needs to practice in proper ballroom shoes. They make such a huge difference to your movement.
  23. I’m going to guess that their trust funds covered their expenses while they were playing poor in the van. He’s actually a talented photographer, I followed him on Insta.
  24. I don’t understand how guests should be allowed to be hungry on a yacht....why aren’t there premade cheese platters, or crudités or something available to snack on 24/7 if the guest asks.
  25. I did that job when I was 16 and was the cook in the rectory...I wasn't responsible for breakfast, but lunch and dinner for 4-5 people. And I didn't cry or scream once.
