  1. Is it possible that Ryan as acting CEO gave her a job title and salary at Wayne Enterprises, but really she's just on the Bat Team? I'm just guessing. Otherwise it is a plot hole.
  2. It was a good episode. Very funny. I also liked the end when Tom had to quickly dive in to stop Connor from falling onto his daughter. Great save!
  3. The headless ghost appeared! He hasn't been written out after all! He walked by in the background while Sam and Jay talked to the police inside the house. The police actually remembered Sam and Jay burning their canoe earlier. Nice continuity. I was surprised by Trevor actually taking Pete's side and then starting the slow clap. Poor ghosts, all punished even though it was just some of the ghosts that lied about the gazebo.
  4. I liked the camping episode. It was funny seeing him using all the kids to fix the sink and weed the garden. Then they actually went camping with Coach Long and Dean kept missing all the great stuff.
  5. It was in"The Devil's Taste Buds", when Dele had already gone to Nigeria, and Abishola had a girls' night with Gloria and Kemi. They were going to go out to clubs, but ended up staying at Bob's house drinking, dancing, and hot-tubbing. I don't remember exactly when Kemi said it, but she did say Abishola used to party before. When she was drunk, Abishola facetimed with Dele, and his Dad Tayo overheard some of the conversation. He spoke disapprovingly of how Abishola was having too much fun and therefore Dele should stay with him in Nigeria. This "brunch" story seems to be a rehash of the previous girls' night. I hope they don't keep repeating it.
  6. the latest episode was kind of all over the place. I kept thinking that the suicide story would somehow relate to the car-jacking, but no, they stayed separate. Now Katsimoto knows about Thomas and Lia, so there's no point in keeping their relationship a secret anymore. Juliette's therapist dropped an anvil about her and Thomas. So obvious. That kid Cade is apparently homeless, and he just lied before when he claimed he just needed to earn money for a car. Maybe he doesn't have any family, or he got kicked out, and he's too ashamed to tell the truth.
  7. Cool. So we'll get elaboration on that story about Elias sitting for the portrait, then sleeping with the artist. There might be more gay subtext to fly over Isaac's head.
  8. Regarding permits, my understanding is that Sam and Jay *did* apply for the Bed & Breakfast permit, as she stated, but they hadn't yet heard whether they were approved or not. The Farnsbys then clarified that they were in charge of that permit and weren't going to grant it to them. It wasn't like Sam and Jay neglected to do the right thing. They applied for it, then unexpectedly ran into the obstacle of their neighbors. Also, how shady it was for Farnsby to say "you can make out the check to me" when he claimed it was donation to the preservation fund! If it was truly for charity, they should make the check out to the charity. The $20,000 was a totally sleazy shakedown. Anyway, I don't see whats wrong with them asking their contractor to repair the house, while waiting for approval for their business. Even if they don't ultimately open the business, the house still would need to be fixed to be livable, or to sell to someone else if they don't stay.
  9. He said it was a Woodstone family tradition. Trying to joke that she was christening the room by breaking the bottle of wine. Also, I liked that when the ghosts said they don't want the B&B, Sam pointed out that they need to help her, otherwise she'll have to sell the house and no longer help the ghosts. That was smart of her. Even if the more bloodthirsty ghosts like Thorfinn tried to deliberately stage an accident for new owners, there's no guarantee that new owners would die for 3 minutes and come back to life. They could just die for good and ascend, not helping the ghosts at all.
  10. Yay for a full season! I'm not sure how many episodes it will be. I hope it will be 20-ish.
  11. Oh I didn't know that about Jayne Mansfield. Yeah, I guess you guys are right. The headless ghost could be a James Dean type who got decapitated in some kind of crash. I just kind of want to see him again to know that the actor wasn't cut from the show, even if he's only recurring.
  12. Mark-Linn Baker! I totally did not recognize him until you guys pointed it out. Wow. I guess I was concentrating on whether the wife character was going to turn out to be drunk or not. Yeah, it was Farnsby who brought up the finale. He could have tripped up Sam and/or Pete if he asked her to elaborate on the finale that they had never seen, but apparently Pete provided enough obscure trivia that Farnsby was fooled. Still, if the ghosts hadn't agreed to help, Sam could have tried to quickly look up Newhart on the wikipedia if she needed some general information about plot and who the stars were. What a weird coincidence that this episode talked about Newhart, then Peter Scolari of Newhart died the next day. So sad.
  13. They also cut the hijinks about bad cooking, since Jay is a professional chef. I do wonder why he had duck on hand, though. Also, Sam didn't try to play poker and lose due to a ghost not knowing how to help her cheat at cards. Alison also distracted the ghosts by letting them watch her DVDs of Friends. I like that the American show instead talked about Newhart.
  14. Oh, this is the thread to discuss the original British show. If you want to talk about the American show, it's got its own forum. There is also a comparison thread if you want to discuss both shows at the same time.
  15. I totally forgot about him. He can't do much without his head, dead or not, could he? Yeah, but we could see his body wandering around or occasionally hear commentary from his head. I do wonder if he'll show up again. They ought to at least explain how he got beheaded. In the promos for the show, that ghost was called Crash, which implies a car crash maybe. But how does a car crash cause a beheading?
  16. Well, I was glad to see Dele again and have him tease his mother. Kemi did say last year that Abishola used to dance and party years ago, before she became a serious-minded single mother. I can understand her relapsing once, but I did not like her continuing to go to brunch even after she should have learned her lesson. Totally agree. It was very funny. Hey, if Kofo wants to be more independent from his cousin, he could move in with Olu and Tunde, in Abishola's former room. Maybe have a romance plot with what's her name who cooks spicy.
  17. I never knew about church lock-ins before. Is it common in all Black churches, or just Southern ones? I've also never seen a baptismal pond before. Guess I just don't know about churches in general, having been raised Buddhist.
  18. In the UK version, Pat the scout leader had a moment where he thought he was "getting sucked off" to heaven, but it was just a construction spotlight. In the US version, it's Thorfinn who has the fakeout. In the UK, the basement ghosts came upstairs while they were fighting with one guy who had brought the plague to their village, but they didn't like the upstairs ghosts and decided that they'd rather live downstairs again. It seems that their American equivalents can go upstairs too, but I'm not sure if they prefer it downstairs or not.
  19. I liked the episode, but yeah, they should have said "fix the septic system" instead of "fix the fountain." That way it would sound just as practical as fixing the roof, and it would still lead to the contractors digging in the ground for pipes. After all, in the pilot, Jay had said that the tap water was gross, so they should definitely see what's making the water gross. I did like the election and the confirmation that the basement ghosts can come upstairs if they want to. The viking funeral was cool.
  20. Yeah, I kept looking at the folder, and thought, "Why don't you just hand it to him? He can read them and reach out to whomever he's interested in."
  21. Well I think the items have to be powerful. Otherwise, why would Batman have locked them all up, if they had no power without the villains? Of course, he could have tried to destroy all the items, but maybe he thought he might need their technology or power for a just in case emergency situation. Maybe Lucious told him to keep the items in storage. I wonder what Lucious's AI will say to Luke. Will it feel like Luke can be with his dad again, like he wanted to when he almost died? Anyway, I'm glad that Mary is officially a doctor now. Does that mean her underground hospital will now be legal? I like Sophie much better now that she's not in the Crows anymore. I don't mind Alice continuing as a main character, now that Renee Montoya got her release sanctioned by the mayor. If Alice had stayed in Arkham and that new Mad Hatter guy was in Arkham too, there would be a risk that they would team up and do some terrible stuff. (Alice did say she didn't kill him, so I think he survived? She could have just pulled the hat off him when they hugged, though.)
  22. Even Coach Long wouldn't eat lunch with her at work. Does that mean he's in a clique with the white men at the office and he doesn't want to risk being downgraded if he sits with Lilian? Her boss took credit for her work (with her assist) and yet he also gave her a promotion/lead job, so it's not like he doesn't recognize her skills. But he still made her tell Long about it, so he wouldn't have to dirty his own hands. I can't believe the amount of stress she would be under, having to do everything at work, then come home and do all the mom stuff too.
  23. Oh, that would be a good idea, since Abishola moved out. They need a new tenant besides the cousin that cooked super-spicy foods.
  24. I also liked how they were sarcastic about Mr. Fix it, and one guy said, "I know we're already dead, but he's trying to kill us." 😄
  25. This article from August compares the ghosts on US vs UK shows. https://www.denofgeek.com/tv/ghosts-us-remake-meet-the-american-versions-of-the-uk-characters/ I think they are mostly right, that the characters are not direct 1-to-1 copies, but mixtures of previous ghosts as well as original characters. Like, Isaac is a military man, and he shares the closeted gay aspect with the British WWII Captain, but Isaac is also jealous of Hamilton the way that Thomas the poet was jealous of Lord Byron. When people walk through Isaac, they smell farts because of his dysentary, whereas Mary smelled like fire because she was burned at the stake. The only ghost we haven't seen a lot of yet is the headless ghost, so it's not clear how much he shares with headless Humphrey other than the beheading.
