I dont know, it seems like the not crossing over water is the only connection to the supernatural origins of the other fictional vamps we all know and love. Even sunlight is not much of a thing as Kelly was able to be out driving in the daytime. Not crossing water is just a weird detail that doesnt really fit with all the other mythology the show has built up.

Cletus they can't cross water for the same reason the master has to sleep in dirt of it's homeland,duh! Reasons man!

Why leave any loaded gun just lying on the ground? Even if its not the ZA, guns are dangerous and a loaded gun is the most dangerous. Put a towel or sheet or blanket at least over your front door if the front door is mostly glass. If you see cops loading their cars with water, perhaps you should do the same. Dont ever leave behind useful items including food, drugs (whatever kind of drug it is. You might have the mistaken impression that LSD is only good for tripping out but you would be wrong. micro doses of LSD are excellent treatment for migraines for example). TALK out loud to each other about what you are observing, how you are feeling and what you think might be the wisest course of action. Talk to everyone about it, even the junkie on the sofa, even the 8 year old kid trying to escape zombie clown. If you dont have one yet, get and protect a dog because a dog could save your life one day.

It seems like everyone completely forgot the only reason Thea is in any sort of danger is because of Malcom's fucked upness! Sheesh, Ras doesnt even care very much about Sara's murder as he told Nessa, Ras wants Merlin dead because Merlin betrayed him many times, the Sara murder was just icing to Ras.

I know Im crazy late to the party but holy shit this episode killed me to death! I enjoy Arrow well enough but Ive never really had a particularly emotional attachment to it but I really like Roy and Thea has really grown on me. When Roy got "killed" and Oliver was told about it, I seriously started crying, it was too much. Then, Roy came back and I was happy but sad he cant stay in town. THEN, that last scene....omfg I have Raza Gool or Raysh a Goul or whatever the Demon Head I HATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man Thea! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow what an episode. I dont even care if everyone else hated it, this to me was maybe one of the very best episodes of Arrow. "There ya go, turnin my whole world around"

I just started watching this show, I'm binging so I can start season4 on time and Im reading all the commentary but who is this Campea I see mentioned? I looked on IMDB and nothing really seems to make sense as far as any Campea person who might be or might have been on the show.

Really bummed that two of the best both ended in bottom looks! Jasmine really did just give up and Jordan pulled a Roy/Emily and tried to rely on a past successful ploy. Glad Glen called him out on that and besides, his makeup did not in anyway update or improve on his foundation makeup. I liked Stevie's even if it came across as sort of simplistic (I think a lot of the make ups on the show dont quite translate on the tv screen). I doubt anyone was surprised Jason finally got the boot, it's been a long time coming.

I think Jordan, Jasmine and Scott are the most talented of the current crop, I think they'll be the final three, Im hoping Nora is final 4. I was thinking earlier my favorite season so far was the one with Dina, Cig, Drew, Stella and George's hot pants, so far to me no season has come close to how awesome that season was.

First of all Maddison, take all the drugs, dont ponder and hem and haw, just take all the freekin drugs. Second, give Kid Acne the biggest freekin knife you've got, he deserves a chance. Third, after you kill Zombie Obama, take all that food you ran through the halls with!!! Im over the trope "go on dangerous mission to get desperately needed supplies and then abandon those supplies after the danger is over" because it is bullshit. Also, even if you dont actually want to say "dead people are rising up and attacking living people and eating them" just say "people are getting very sick and it's making them violent, avoid slow moving people at all costs. Just like...jog or something and you'll be fine" Anyway, I know people riot over any little thing but that was so over the top I thought it was funny. OH! You know what else was funny? The bouncy house! That was clearly an homage to the kid birthday party with zombie clown in Diary of the Dead.

I finally watched the comic con trailer and holy smokes, Im excited for this show now!

So the "incest" thing bothered me at first but after I thought about it, I dont really see it as incest at all. We have no way of knowing if he is really her father or not. Nolan is not Irisa's bio-father but he did raise her so should rightly be considered her father. They have a very human relationship, in fact their relationship might be completely different if grown up Irisa had found little boy Nolan and raised him (whatever her race is called). The Omec are even more strange. They consume other creatures most people would consider to be people (I worded it like that because at first I was going to say they consume other sentient creatures but hey, so do humans), who knows what their familial relationships are like? As the audience, we just see those two Omecs, we see them refer to each other as "father" and "daughter" and we assume those words mean the exact same thing to them as it does to us but I think that assumption is incorrect. (Although to be honest, this show is not the most subtle thing out there so Im probably giving it more credit than it deserves). The way I'm thinking of it, "father" means "oldest living Alpha male" and "daughter" means "any female able to give birth".......perhaps a female who was barren would then be called "mother" and a male who was impotent or sterile would be called "son"? Who knows, Im just trying to spin it in a direction I can personally be comfortable with and this is my path forward. This show in particular is really hard for me to pin down. Sometimes it seems to want to be fun and wacky, like a good old 90's (or even 80's) style scifi show, other times it seems to want to be so hard and ugly and intense I can hardly stand it. And then there's all the weird, uncomfortable, weirdly shown sex (like Stahma giving 2 hand jobs in the same episode, that to me was just such a WTF couple of moments!!). I dont know about this show, I really don't and happily, there are starting to be many more interesting scifi shows these days, I may end up dumping defiance.

Oh hell yes we can! Well, not me anymore, Im married (and monogamous with) my (also butch) wife! Boo's back story just totally worked for me because every word she spoke against the homophobia (starting as a kid), I too have spoken to friends, lovers and yes, my (loving and kind) parents. I live in the south and my wife and I just bought a house up in the mountains, a town of around 10K, we'll be moved up there in less than a month. Ive been worrying about if I should do something, anything to change my appearance and every time I thought about that, I got more and more depressed. I may as well be dead if it means I can't just be myself. I've told my mom a million times, it's not my problem the world looks at me with hatred/disgust in its eyes, it's the worlds problem.....but that problem can very easily lead to my death. To hear the character of Boo speak aloud the words that live in my own heart was so damn powerful. I can not hide who and what I am and I am not wearing a "costume" to make some point, I'm just living my life and expressing my true self in all I do. For this episode alone I would be eternally grateful for this marvelous show.

Speaking of first time tv, I finally got to watch the first 2 seasons of Orange is the New Black which yes, totally loving it AND I just now finished Continuum (I hear there is going to be a short final season later this year) and I thought it was really great! Such a great gray vs gray story and the lead actress looked like the love child of Jodie Foster and Lucy Lawless so that was really nice.

Well dang, I didnt even think about that lol!!! We are in the process of packing up and moving to our new home but I bet I'll have a little free time where I can go visit my local comic store and pick it up! Hahaha oh man, "once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right"!!!

I agree with this so so so much. Caliban is my least favorite character on this show, he just sucks. No freekin' reason for him to be all "oh woe is me, Im so hideously disfigured and I dont have a soul, boo hoo" Dude looks to have a scar, well look around, LOTS of people have scars and back then no one had plastic surgery. He doesn't have a soul? Prove ANYONE has a soul and then we can talk. He is literate, incredibly strong and has no fear of death, plus his freeky eyes are very attractive to some people. He just needs to get over himself and start living his life like everyone else manages to do somehow. He and Brona could disappear from the show and if I even noticed, I would be so damn happy about it.

Well she had one eye similar to Caliban's, the other was green, nice contrasting colors symbolizing the dual nature of such a creature that can live hundreds of years, wielding incredible powers yet living so simply and always trying to stay in the light. Contrast that with Evelyn who gave into the darkness hundreds of years ago so lives in wealth, comfort and beauty with no dichotomy to bother her, and two eyes the same flat brown.

I really loved this episode, loved the character of Joan Clayton with her weird orange and green eyes, loved her tutelage of Vanessa, loved taking a break from all the men folk and the men folk pain, loved that when all is said and done Vanessa is motivated by pure love for Mina, loved that it was a powerful feminist story. It was horrifying witnessing the end of the cut wife, it was amusing witnessing the degradation of the tin pot dictator of that town but I still loathe Madam Kali. It was dreadful but interesting the contrast of Joan being branded with the sign of the devil by a woman she loved vs Vanessa being branded with the sign of jesus by strange men who hated her for "not being them". While I agree this episode didnt seem to advance the main story (we'll see whether or not that's true as the season unspools), this may be my favorite episode of the entire show, season 1 included.

I just want one thing, the triumphant return of Helena's original theme, that horrible, metallic SKEEEE scraww!
