  1. Rope. The whole film is shot as if it was all one take. Hitchcock managed to hide scene cuts, so it wasn't all done in one shot, but it looks that way.
  2. Melissa McCarthy is sort of relying on shtick for a similar persona in all of her movies. I'd love to see more of her doing not necessarily drama, but less full-on slapstick. Her role in St. Vincent is apparently less of a full-out comedy, but she isn't the star, either. Still, Tammy has its funny moments, and heck, three Oscar nominees (Susan Sarandon, Kathy Bates and Toni Collette). But don't cast Kathy Bates in a small role, because she's going to steal every scene she's in. I don't know Mark Duplass, I haven't seen any of the TV series he's been in, but I liked him. They should have introduced Dan Aykroyd earlier in the film, his appearance was a little jarring, but he was funny.
  3. I memorized all of the books of the Bible through a song I learned in Sunday school, years and years ago, so that helps me when books of the Bible come up as a question.
  4. I have listened to the Friday show three times now, and I still swear that when the girl that T was waiting for finally shows up, she calls him "D". Is that a joke because he couldn't get her name right?
  5. I wish there was some way to do a Survivor in the US. Maybe on the island of Lanai, or Kahoolawe?
  6. Jenn Lilley is such a good actress. Her scene with Caroline was adorable, and she had great chemistry with KdP. i do hope we get to see her gleefully telling Anne about Dannifer's breakup.
  7. In the Oakland-Toronto game last night, Toronto had the bases loaded, the ball was hit to first base and Oakland first baseman Nate Freiman (who is, BTW, the tallest non-pitcher ever to play in the MLB, at 6'8") tagged the runner going by him at first base and then threw the ball to home. The ump at first called the runner running past safe, so the catcher tagged home for a force out. But Toronto challenged the call, basically demanding that their runner at first be called out so that the play at the plate would have had to have been a tag rather than force out. And that's how the challenge ruled it -- the runner at first was out on the tag, the runner crossing home was safe because the tag at first took away the force at home. Oakland protested the game, saying that the first base ump called the tag at first as not happening, so the catcher assumed that it was a force at home. Oakland won, so the protest is moot.
  8. I loved Harold today, after saying the police were there with a warrant, "How many times have I said that?"
  9. Hate that Richard Nixon got them to remove "Cool, Cool Considerate Men" from the movie.
  10. They weren't able to get the rights to *any* of Jimi Hendrix's songs for the movie, so they decided to make it all about his life before he got big.
  11. Here's the Hotwire ad I was talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BaOAJsBPRw
  12. Isn't Sam in a car *behind* Rafe? Not at the police barrier.
  13. I love how Sami's facial expression changes as soon as she walks away from EJ. I wonder if she'll convince EJ to give her a power of attorney. I wish we knew what Kate's doing to get at Stefano. I really don't like Rafe's gloating.
  14. I'm shocked that somebody thinks Stanley will be going home, he blew me away! All of my votes will be going to him. Like everybody else, the ballerinas underwhelmed, and their being interchangeable would work against them anyway. I thought Jourdan, the one on the right, was worse, she looked totally out of sync and fell out of a couple of moves. And Valerie the tapper repeatedly looked like she was going to topple over.
  15. I just had to re-log in. After the forums being off line for quite a while earlier today.
  16. There's an Arco ad where the husband is sitting in traffic trying to get to a gas station and the wife says they should have gone to the Arco, and the husband says, "I thought this way would be better." And the shrewish bitch of a wife says, "That's strange, because all of your ideas are always so right." Not to mention that, um, Arco, are you saying that nobody likes to go to your stations?
  17. I thought Lucas was being totally inappropriate running down EJ in front of Sydney. Keep your personal opinions of your ex's current lover from your child, please. Sami told Ciara that she already had a flower girl. Was the flower girl one of the staff? We didn't get to see flowers strewn on the ground, it was done before the ceremony started, not as part of the wedding. I loved Sami patting Ben on the shoulder after telling Abigail she was next to get married. Who was taking care of Ari while the wedding was going on? Stefano's staff? Why couldn't Kate or Caroline have taken care of her, or even Lucas, since he only got invited at the last minute?
  18. The latest trailer for Earth to Echo says something about "your kids will love it." So they've already conceded that adults are not going to be interested. It's getting horrible reviews, BTW.
  19. Today's show where a woman is suing her tenants because their dog bit her little girl. The woman turned the tenants' water off, even though they have a two year lease, and JJ's response was, "A-move! Move tomorrow!" Does she really believe somebody can up and move at the drop of a hat? She is so far out of the scope of reality.
  20. I just saw an ad for hotwire where a gay couple was talking about looking for a hotel so they could get away from the kid for a little rest. One of them said, "For me, it's all about the sleep." And his husband said, "Well, not *all* about the sleep." It's nice that they thought they could go there. I wonder how much complaining there will be.
  21. Cleveland pulled off a triple play against the Dodgers last night -- outfield fly, runner out at home, Puig thrown out attempting to get to second. The out at second was initially called safe, Cleveland appealed and the call was overturned. Then the Dodgers appealed the out at home, but that was upheld. So two challenges on one play.
  22. I watched a repeat this morning with a guy who stays home and takes care of the kids while the girlfriend works. JJ was apoplectic. I'm sure she would have no problem with a woman who stays home to take care of the kids while the boyfriend goes to work.
  23. Why is Jennifer dressed like she's going to a night club for her son's graduation?
  24. It makes no sense that a subpoena was delivered to Jennifer personally, it should have been delivered to the foundation, that's who's handling the money. I agree that AS is killing this storyline now.
